Then why give bs reasons for removing. I didn't see 1 clearly stated valid reason for it to be removed.
Instead, I saw a lot of excuses.

Not my fault you have your blinders on. Sometimes its good to just take a stepback and see the whole picture. They gave one clearly stated valid reason. The Original Poster said he obtained the information from friends that like to hack. Obviously the MMORPG staff does want the website to be seen that they condone hacking. Leaving the thread as is would have been condoning hacking. Whether it was hacked or not is not the point. The staff at MMORPG's job is not to figure out whether something is true or not. If someone claims that information was hacked then they are obligated to delete it to preserve integrity.

Unfortunately, your not qualified to make that statement. Just because the earlier poster didn't know what he was talking about, doesn't mean he was correct. Sorta of like admitting to a murder you couldn't have possibly committed.

Only blinder I see is someone who clearly doesn't have the ability to critically question bad choices.

But at face value, it sure looked like it. They covered their own asses. FINE.What you are failing to recognize is that they are allowing us to CONTINUE the line of discussion without the numbers. They are also being QUITE FORGIVING to those tearing them new assholes over it. Simmer down. It has been proven that the numbers were true... or $OE wouldn't have CHANGED THEIR LOGIN PROTOCOLS TO HIDE THIS. Latest patch doesBut lay off the mods. They put up a pretty nice board here and don't need to listen to people whining like 5 year olds with skinned knees.

The problem I have, as I have stated in earlier posts, is that hacked in and of itself doesn't mean legal/illegal, good/bad, etc , etc, etc. The media knows better but continues to use it ignorantly.

Hacking is just tackling a bit of the problem at a time. I hack all day for a living. But the term hack in and of itself tells you nothing about the validity of the activity or outcome.

The state reason by the mods that they will not allow material posted via hacking was just plain wrong.

They have to take a zero tolerance policy towards hacking. Its just to much trouble to investigate every little instance that comes up on whether it was hacking or not.

There are two different definitions of hacking.

The media has construed hacking to mean illegally accessing a computer.

Hacking is also a commonly used term from back in the day to using a creative solution to fix a problem or make something neat.

But typically when someone says information was hacked, it means it was accessed illegally.

I am fine with critically questioning choices. But I also understood their point of view, the thread had nearlly 200 comments. They would have to go through each one and delete each post that mentioned anything whatsoever from what the original poster stated. It was easier to just delete the thread, instead of looking at several pages of [POST DELETED] [POST DELETED] [POST DELETED].

I am just as qualified to make that statement as you are. About the only part I may not be is talking about your blinders on, but I guess its because we come from two different viewpoints. I see what I think is the whole picture, and I think you do not see the whole picture.

If someone came into the forums and said he committed a crime (such as stealing) and said where he stole from, and he provided pictures on the post. The mods would probably delete it(it would be in the offtopic forum), and if I was a mod I would probably report it to the police if I had plenty of evidence to give them. But essentially the media has construed hacking to mean something incredibly horrible although others in the computer industry usually do not mean hacking the way the media uses it, the media definition is the popular one, and is going to be the one most people make their judgements on.
