Vaild point; but I would point out is that 50K is much less than the estimated 250K Pre-CU.

That's station passes, not SWG subs. Also, Station Pass people pay (currently) $21/month
Yea I was talking about station passes, but I failed to put the right $ amount, my mistake. He claims SWG has an estimated 190k subs. That number could be legit considering the number of people up here saying the servers are barren, but then there are people such as you Obraik who do play and say everything is healthy, which could make this number completely made up.
This is why I dont ever believe the numbers, because I dont currently play and I havnt played since Pre-cu, its just not my place to assume subscription numbers, no matter how bad the NGE is to my eyes.

All I will ask is one question, do you truely believe there are nearly 10,000 people playing on your server?
That would be the average number of players on each server if those numbers are correct.
Nobody can honestly say that they think there are 10k people currently playing on thier servers...well,maybe Bria but most are no where near that number of players.

Exactly.
There aren't 400 players TOTAL on Bloodfin at peak times. And we are one of the 5 busiest servers.
Consider that peak logins are at least 1/5th the total subs, even if all 25 servers had Bloodfin's pop (which they don't), that would only make for 50K subs...
ANYONE who thinks SWG has more than 50K subs is in candyland. The number actually could be far lower than 50K.

The max number of players you can get with SWG is 3k on one server.
BTW.. you can tell thouse numbers are insane.. it says UO has 125k ish players. Has anyone been on a UO server recently? LOL
And.. it also says Asherons Call only has 10k players.. jeez.

Got to agree with Spathotan. According to that, AO has just over 10k. You know, that game they're working on an expansion for? It has less than Sims Online, Planetside, and There. Sure, why not? It only beats AC and ATitD in numbers.

Good work Obraik! That's a far cry from the numbers SOE says they currently have.
For those that really want to know how he gets his information...try reading...you might actually learn something.
I concur. Bloodfin's numbers are dismal pretty much all the time. Station Pass is now about $25 per month so you'll see that 50k number (estimate?) dropping like flies.

Just exactly what factual data are you basing that on? I'd like to know because I'm interested in that kind of factual data about games from a purely academic standpoint.

Correction: It says "subscribers" And Asheron's Call TWO DID only have around 10k SUBSCRIBERS when it was cancelled, he listed Asheron's CALL (note the lack of a number 2 at the end) at 40-50k... go re-check your facts.
And UO does still have just north of 125k Subscribers. How do I know? One of my best friends STILL plays on EA's servers (God only knows why) and they're still pretty crowded according to him. Not anything like the old days mind you, but definitely not vacant (his words. not mine). Personally I play UO but not on EA's servers. But considering that there are shards out there in the wild with over 10k players it wouldn't surprise me at all if the official game still has well over 100k players... not one bit.
My stance: MMORPGCHART.COM has been relatively accurate for years now. Just because you don't like his stats doesn't make them irrelevant. You wanna provide a more accurate number? Then do so, and please post your sources. SirBruce gets his numbers and states HOW he gets them. The COH numbers are correct. NCsoft's latest report (they report ALL their numbers openly every quarter) was that COH/V had a combined total of 182,858 subscriptions. (Sadly, I have lost the link... if I find it again I will post it.)
The guy who does mmorpgchart.com has no reason to give anything but absolutely precise and correct numbers for all the NCSoft games, because they release them. SOE hides their subs numbers, and because of station access, even if they didn't hide them, knowing exactly how many people played each game would be very difficult.
You can't judge how many hundreds of thousands of people are on a server based on how you think it "feels." I'd say I was shocked that SWG had more than a few thousand total, even back a year ago during the CU, so empty was the server I played on (Naritus). But that impression would have been incorrect, because we can be pretty sure that, at the time, there were a good 200k (give or take) accounts there.
And COH sure doesn't "feel" like there are more people in it now than there were say a year ago, even though apparently there are.
The numbers he's getting are as objective as he can make them. If SOE doesn't release the numbers he has to make the best estimate he can. If the numbers of the top 4 games and the #6 game are known, and SOE says, "We're #5", then he can be reasonably certain that the subs numbers of SWG are between the known #4 and #6 subs levels. Exactly where in there it falls, of course, would be anyone's guess.
Personally I'm shocked SWG is still around, given how badly the game's been run for over a year. I can't imagine 190,000 people are still paying them for it.

Also, anyone can take numbers from the press releases that companies spew out about sub numbers. That doesn't mean they are accurate or that the company is not fudging it's numbers.

Unless there are about 140,000 subscribers paying for subs but not playing, SWG does not have 190K subscribers.
50K at MOST.
And probably less. We have 25 servers, and 20 of them are empty.
Press reports had SWG at 200K subs back in November (before NGE). No way we lost ONLY 10K.
I might have bought 100K or 90K, but not 190K. As I said, evidence points towards 50-60K at best.

WOW the real news here is that SWG is hemorrhaging customers. At the rate of decline shown, the doors of SWG will be closed in a year.
