Well being from England I have to say I hope the temperatures drop soon, I don't think our guys can cope with the heat for a full game (bit of a heatwave going on at the moment this side of the pond)
Korea vs Togo 2-1, an even game, but neither side impressed me. Altho i have to admit i could only see chunks of the game :P
France vs Switzerland 0-0, slow game by two teams playing a solid defensive game but not showing much inspiration forward. France with the overall better game but Switzerland with the best chances to score.
I think this group is going to be the most boring one of them all :P
Lets hope Brazil and Croatia can bring up the tempo a bit, today has been too slow so far

It's halftime in the game between Brazil and Croatia and Brazil has the lead with 1-0 after a quick play and a great shot by Kaka. As expected it's a great game, alot of people expect the Brazillians to be alot better than all the other teams for some reason, but Croatia shows that the gold is far from certain for the reigning champions and heavy favourites Brazil. It's a real pleasure to watch these stars at work. Emerson (the old man) always in the right place, Ronadiho, Kaka, Ronaldo all performing as really well. The Croats playing a surprisingly offensive game, Prso, Klasnic and Kranjcar managing to create some problems for the Brazillian defense.
The Game is by no means decided, but i wonder if Croatia can hold up with the quick Brazillian plays in the second half.
*edit* I have to take it back that Ronaldo is perfoming well, cause he is really doing nothing at all... Just thought i'd correct myself before someone thinks i'm nuts

Brazil - Croatia ends 1-0, Croatia with an amazing game in the second half, Brazil should be happy they won this game, although the Brazil side had some more quality to their game Croatia creatied alot of chances and they defended themselves excellently, especially Robert Kovac in the Croatian defense is worth mentioning here, excellent match! Brazil looks like they have a gear or 2 more to kick in, and you can bet on it that they will
Tomorrow Germany play against Poland, Poland who disapointed in their first game will be looking to better their reputation. Germany who showed they have no problems scoring goals (Klose with 2 goals so far), but had problems with their defense.
Also Spain vs Ukraine, hoping for a great game here, and Tunisia vs Saudi Arabia...

Germany - Poland first half 0-0. A very good first half, a completly different Poland than we saw last time, especially the defense and in particlar Bak doing a good job there. A good performance by both teams, Klose and Podolski close to scoring a first for Germany. Looking forward to the second half, match could at this point go either way.
Earlier today Spain completly mauled over Ukraine with a convincing 4-0 win, not much to say here, Spain looking like a contender for a medal perhaps?
Also Tunisia played Saudi Arabia in an interesting game that ended 2-2. It was kind of slow up until the middle of the second half when the game opened up considerably, the last 10 minutes of the game the best of the game, Tunisia scoring an equaliser in the 92nd minute! Soudi Arabia sure to feel bad about the lost points there...
I'm loving this WC and it's only the opening games that got done today! What can i say? Cheers

What a game! Poland pulled back somewhat in the second half. Sobolewski getting a very unecessary second yellow card, thus getting sent off. I was expecting the Polish coach to substitute him didnt really know what he was waiting for, instead he went and got a second yellow card and opened up for a German offensive for the rest of the game, an offensive that resulted in some majestic saves by the Polish keeper Boruc, it wasnt until additional time in the 91st minute that Neuville managed to break the deadlock. Germany wins 1-0, well deserved, although it has to be said Poland did not look as hopeless as they did against Ecuador. Good game, good game

Germany is definately a contender now. However, I think this may be Spain's time to finally get themselves a cup. Even tho they played a lesser team in Ukraine, they really worked well together and I wouldn't doubt it if they are able to go all the way.
Ecuador vs Costa Rica, Extremly imortant game for both teams, Poland will be rooting for Costa Rica as that is their only chance for advancement, If Ecuador wins Germany and Ecuador will be the top two teams in this group, if Costa Rica wins i'ts gonan be up to the 3rd round to decide who gets the second spot, if it's a tie the third round will decide whether it will be Ecuador or Costa Rica that ends upin the top two.
England vs Trinidad & Tobago, England clear favourites here, no matter how amazing T&T's draw against Sweden was, they will be hard pressed to be able to repeat it against a hungy England, who aparantly will be playing without Rooney because of poly-ticks(no i didnt spell that wrong)...
Sweden vs Paraguay, huge game, alot of anticipation from both teams who are both basicly playing a win all or lose all game. Sweden obviously disapointed with their performance against T&T will want to prove that they are indeed better than that, Paraguay ofcourse, also want to show the world that they belong in the world top rankings. This i believe will not be a boring game, none of the teams want a draw, both of them want to win.
Bring it on!

Ecuador did what was necessary, didnt see much of the game, but 3-0 looks like a comfortable win. This means that Ecuador and Germany are qualified for the playoffs
England vs T&T first half is over.. and its 0 - 0! Again! T&T playing a shockingly great defensive game, again!
England needs Rooney, but powermongers in the Premiership threatten to sue if he gets hurt.. I could say what i think about those kind of things but it'd get me permabanned not only from this site but probably from any kind of social activity whatsoever...

Amazing! But in real life cinderella stories dont hold for very long Trinidad & Tobago may have held out against the Swedish offensive, but another 83 mintes of prooved too much as Crouch managed to score with a header on a beautifull cross from Beckham, a coiple of minutes later Gerard kills the game with a second goal for England with a powerfull shot into the net behind a helpless Hislop. T&T did get to net a ball, but unfortunatly it was offside.
England did NOT impress, but they did however get the job done winning the game with 2-0, and in the end that's all that matters.
BTW, that Birchall guy in T&T, he was everywhere! i loved watching him :P

For god sake, why do people think that because Rooney came onto the pitch they scored those goals? He's not our hero, that's just what the media have made of him!
England v Trinidad was boring, badly played (on England squad) and could have been better without Sven.

Yeah, big disappointment for France...
Every other "big" team got their results thus far..
I feel bad for the French fans.

It wasn't entertaining at all...France could have done so much better. Thierry Henry did well though.

I have to say that Croatia has nothing to be ashamed of..
They played an excellent game!
And the Croatian fans were great. They really took the celebration away from the Brazillians. Not easy to do.
If they can play this well against Japan and Australia, they should get be able to get through no problem.
Yeah, unfortunately I missed that one.
However, as I understand it the aussies didn't really start to shine until the 80th minute.
Thank goodness the US lost... I don't think I could bear it if we were any good at soccer... hehe
