Hehe, i'm gonna have to take a look at a few brittish newspapers to see just what they're saying ;) Rooney didnt do much in the game, but he's as deadly a striker as they come. If nothing else atleast he needed some time on the pitch.

Sweden - Paraguay first half over, still 0-0, Sweden the somewhat better team so far, but almost every time Paraguay does come up you can feel it's dangerous as Santa Cruz and Nelson Valdez disturb the swedish defenders. The Swedish defense not looking all that comfortable, but have so far held the line pretty good. The Swedes are creating alot of chances, Kallstrom this time playing from the start and contributing alot to the Swedish offense, Ibrahimovic and Larson both looking dangerous and Ljungberg is just brilliant. But the Swedes are being notoriously inneficient, lining up alot of chances, but not nailing a single one of them. Excellent game so far, and it could go either way at this point.

like.. wow... talk about intense, a great second half by both teams. I wasnt exactly a fan of the Swedish longballs but that's what you get when Paraguay leaves big holes for the strikers to run through. In the end though Sweden won with a goal in the 89th minute after a beautiful play by Elmander to Allback to Ljunberg past Bobadilla, who btw perfomed excellently, which meant 1-0 to Sweden.

    Tomorrows lineup
    Argentina vs Serbia Montenegro
Holland vs the Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire)
    Mexico vs Angola

That's 3 great games :P I havnt played a single minute of online games since the WC started, and with games like this, might take some time before i do so again, hehe

It seems this therad got forgoten... anyway, now theres 6 teams qualified for the next round:

Germany, Ecuador, Netherlands, England, Argentina and Portugal..

Portugal just qualified some minutes ago with a 2-0 win over Iran. They dominated the game and deserved to win. Iran created some oppurtunities, but they weren't able to score. The goal were scored by Deco and crsitiano Ronaldo(pk).

Next up:    Czech Republic - Ghana

I couldn't believe that moronic Iranian got away with kicking two people delibaretly, in one case where he kicked Figo, he had a huge cut on his face. And BOTH times the referee ignored it, can anyway say bribe?

45 min passed. USA 1, Italy 1. Two red cards! 1 to both teams. Italy got one correctly, USA got one where it should have been yellow. Italy did 1 self goal. Wow, now this is a dramatic match  Looking forward to the second half.

    Edit:

Second half just started. Now the match got it's 3rd red card. To the americans. So USA has 9 players now. Doesn't look good for them.

Very entertaining game finished Italy 1 : 1 USA, odd thing was USA hwere the better side all through the game 11 men or 9 men disregarding the last 6 minutes.

As for the Red Cards I disagree the elbow was terrible and he should have not only got a red card but a kick in the balls for acting like he was all inocent. The first American sending off was red too, 2 footed challange studs up missing the ball and taking a shin from the front is a legbreaker. The pope decision was harsh the first yellow was no way a bookable offence.

Australia - Brazil. 0-0 so far. Boring match  Brazil isn't showing much of their greatness.

    England 2 - Sweden 2

The second half was not good football for england, how we would cope against a team like Brazil I don't know.

edited: I was a little too harsh.

I feel so bad for Michael Owen, it's home for him now. That knee looked really badly damaged.
