i believe this guy is 100% correct. First of all the account numbers. That is believable, 20k are vets who payed in advance, 40k are people who play, the 32k who have trial accounts, and another 65k station subs. And lastly the rest are people who pay to post on the nazi forums. Pretty believable.

Could be both this (from a SOE source) and Shayde's account (from a LEC source) are BOTH true, from their own points of view.
Look at it this way, clearly SWG has been a collosal failure, and the NGE a complete embarassment. SOE is blaming LEC "it's LEC who insists we keep the NGE and not do classic servers", and LEC is blaming SOE "we don't have control, it's SOE screwing up, etc".
It's also telling that the SOE source has higher sub number figures than the LEC source.
Clearly the two sides are NOT happy with each other or the game. SOE because of the failure of the game, LEC because of the harm to the Star Wars brand, etc.
It's rather obvious that THAT is true whether or not either of these sources are real or not.

While i believe that LEC has final say, I don't think they have SOE in a total "stranglehold" If SOE were to drop SWG, I think they would still make plenty of money and the way the subs are declining, I would think that it would be a load lifted off of SOE's chest. Don't forget EQ and EQ2 are both still going strong. Plus they have Planetside, MXO and upcoming games like Vanguard which are going to be pretty big. Remember, SWG was not part of station access until about a year ago.
They need to face reality, SWG is outdated now they can revamp and tweak and "balance" all they want but the game is not going to pull WoW numbers. They might as well redevelop. If LEC is not going to do the developing, they should just keep their noses out of the MMO market and let their subcontractor do the work.
When I first heard about the NGE (about two days before it went live), I thought the combat system sounded interesting I thought that maybe, just maybe, this is what the game needed. Boy was I wrong. The NGE combat was the least of the problems. I had no idea all the content was going to be stripped out, all the professions were going away, crafting was getting all but deleted from the game and the retarded devs were going to act mightier than God and tell us that the game we loved, was not the game we wanted to play. Not only content and stability went out the window but the maturity level of the game went with it.
When I started playing this game in June 03, I thought I would never play another MMO again. I came from EQ, and then planetside. I was active up through the NGE and in Dec. 05 I couldn't take it anymore. This game has become nothing but a piece of crap with the SW name on it. "Starwarsy" and "Iconic" is the furthest from what this game has become. Julie Torres should be fired and Nancy Macntyre should be smacked and then fired. If my employees said the things that these ignorant, sorry excuse for executives said about my product, they would be living under a bridge somewhere in a cardboard box because not only would they have no jobs, they would never get a good reference for future and I would seriously call prospective employers and let them know that they would be making a HUGE mistake by hiring these clowns.

SOE or LEC or Santa Claus or the green leprechaun in my pocket could each or all roll back to any version of SWG and there is no way this side of the Outer Rim I'd return to any game run by SOE. While I hope Obraik and the other 2 current players enjoy the game as long as it lasts, I also hope every day to hear news that SOE and/or LEC realize they have fubar'ed this game up so bad that they're finally killing it. I really don't care if OP is right or wrong because none of it would get me to return. SOE has lost my money, period.

As sad as it is I would go back in a heart beat. And while most people here will say no, it really makes you wonder why they are here. We all want SWG back and even though we have a strong dislike toward SOE, ost people would go back.

yeah im pretty sure they have that many accounts, but in terms of player, and accounts that people actually use, much less.
Is there a difference? Do you think family members should be excluded too? How about pre-cu, where considerably more people had multiple accounts.
Account = subscriber, doesn't matter who's playing, as long as they are paying.
If everyone stops playing, but keeps subscriptions, SOE will be overjoyed. Servers will no longer require reboots, they'll fire administrative staff, no need to add content, happy company.

I would resub for a pre-CU or even a pre-NGE server just to increase the sub number by one to rub it into the idiots face who thought the NGE would work. I'd be willing to part with $15 for a few months to make a point.

Good luck to the real dev on this - anyone who had much experience with SOE/SWG's 3 years of releasing crap knows that practically no one is left on the SWG project from when it actually had potential - except, of course, for the janitorial & customer service departments.
