Homosexual characters in MMOGs

I would definately not play a game with homosexual characters.

    Why?

Cause its a GAME, a lot of guys play girl characters and a lot of girls play guy characters in MMO's. And I guarantee you A LOT of people would probably joke around and be a homosexual character. Its ridicolous to think this, and BTW there weren't a lot of gay people back in the medieval ages cause they got stoned to death.

Actually the question is why do u post such "homosexual" topics?

    Cheers mate

I dont think MMO's will ever have something built into the games specifically for Gays. Alot of games offer a wide variety of clothes if someone wishes to be more pronounced in their appearance. We are all different no matter what our orientation is. I'll have to go check out the OT forum and see what the fuss is all about.

You have just completly nullified your point. It is impossible to "stand out" AND at the same time "be treated equally".

Next item that full kills your point, your debate, is the FACT that this is about sexual matters. NO mmorpg has "hetrosexuals", since it is impossible to have sex in any mmorpg. Since mmorpgs are not about sex. You do not see any stats for "experience in foreplay". "You have leveled up in foreplay". Or "You will find the foreplay trainer in the capital city on the 2nd floor of the inn.".

Last, you have shown you know nothing about what gays and lesbians want, by your own statement. "...seem to want..." yadda yadda. Only a true gay, or lesbian, can comment. AND since sex, what goes on in the bedroom, is part of ones PERSONAL life, it is no ones buisness who is gay, and who is lesbian. It's their personal life

Actually I have encountered many references to heterosexual tendencies in MMOGs.

In EQ1, WoW, Horizons, to name a few, I have listened to NPCs describe affection for a member of the opposite sex and received quests which involved appeasing or attracting the attention of their love interest which was always someone of the opposite sex.

I have never seen a reference to homosexuality in a MMOG, so based on my experience, I feel confident in suggesting that heterosexuality has been offered as the status quo in these virtual worlds so far.

I agree with you 100% that this is impossible, but gays are the ones who are advocating this. Examples of which I have given in this thread already.

I am however, not interested in focusing on real life gay issues, just on how they may affect and translate into MMOGs one day. It wouldn't surprise me to see more of a homosexual flavor expressed in MMOGs in the future based on real world direction and character creation is a fundamental start.

Theres already alot of guys that like to pretend they're girls in online games,
If it's a role playing game and you decide to play the role of a girl your probably living out some trans-sexual or cross dressing fantasy, should just give them a homosexual character.

Sorry I have no idea what Oral Roberts University is. Sounds like yours was in Soho.

    I have to comment since I know more than 1 language. IF you truly are intrested in studying ancient southeren European culture, and literature, you MUST learn the languages. There are many words that are tooo open to translation. Here is a quick little example;

    1. In ancient times the way they told if a guy was lying or not, was one guy would hold his balls. If he felt the guy was lying, he'd squeeze his balls. This is called making a Testiment , giving a Testimony.

The world Testimony comes from old southern European root word "testes" which is the same root word for "testicles".

Here's something they SHOULD teach at Oral Roberts University... remember that Bible Story in which Abraham places his son's hands "on his thigh". Nahh, nahh. It was translated into English too openly/loosly. Abraham litterally placed his son's hand on his balls. On his Testicles. And... even the title "Old Testiment" litterally means "Old Testicals" aka Old Balls. New Testiment litterally means "New Testicles." aka New Balls. (*gives salute to that famous AC/DC song. Any Aussies here? ;) )

Homer, Achilles, the Spartans, the Lesbians aka Lesbos, Saphiric, all must be read in the ORIGINAL languages. Or else YOU will be at the mercy of other people who openly/loosly translate such literature. Learn Latin, Greek, Old Latin, Old Greek.... THEN re-read the story of Lesbos, and it is blatantly obvious the author was a woman who had relations with much younger women.... and .... little girls. Oh, BTW did you know the Greeks and to some degree the Romans, kept harms of younger ... boys? There was no cut-off age for "minors". No law for "only at age 18 and older".

What it comes down to its this... learn from the BEST things about the Greeks and Romans. Then build on that. No need to emulate the bad things about the Greeks and Romans.

    ------------

BTW, the fact that you said you READ that Brad Pitt played a gay in Troy shows you need to learn, and practice, how to be a concientious student. IF you want to find out about something, you must make a concious EFFORT to research it as much as possible yourself. In this case, watch the movie Troy instead of reading what someone else wrote. Pitt does not play a gay guy. In fact, they did the opposite of what was written about Achilles and Petricles. Pitt plays a womanizer (watch the opening scene he's sleeping around while his army is in battle. A messenger has to be sent to wake him up, get him out of bed, and go to battle.) They simply made them good sparring buddies. Using the old Hollywood formula "Ahhh you killed my buddy! I must kill you now! Because you killed my buddy my rage now makes me 10 times stronger! Grrrr!".

IF you want to really find out what Homer wrote, what was written about Lesbos, you will have to learn their original languages. The meanings are blatant, and ultra-explicit.

Indifference is the closest option, but more accurately, although I wouldn't play one, I'd support the option.

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

Well if I had someone squeeze my balls in court when they thought I lied, I'd have probably told the truth! As for gays in MMOS, seems they're already rampant to me!

    Whats next lol?
    "In The Closet Online"

Play the game where you can be the monster in the closet.
Dont want to come out? No problem we will bring the world to you.
There will be no healing classes for the pve servers due to all religious types being against in and out of the closet characters.

Once you reach level cap you can decide to leave the closet by telling your ingame family about your adventures. Once you do "come out" you will get a chance at leveling up past the cap by 30 levels.
Gain homo-rep with your local government for the right to have an in-game marriage.

Straight people may join the pvp server to battle it out with the closet toons as one of hundreds of "Bashers" or "Priests".
Hide in alleys and jump out at them with your baseball bats or hockey sticks as weapons of choice.
Gain bloody knuckle points to spend on flame resistant gear.

Currently under development by Hotsauce productions. Expected to be released in the 4th Q........

I have no problem with gay peoples, Ive met quite a few who are better human beings than most heterosexuals.

What I dont like is certain folks shoving their homosexuality down everyones throats, the whole flaming act is just that, and a lot of homosexuals arent comfortable with the stereotype that creates. Its sad really, and I hope that stereotype isnt further perpetuated by in-your-face homosexuals.

Personally I dont care where you put your junk, so why wave your preference for all to see?

Cause its about the attention, not the preference. :P

I thought it was ironic that Troy didnt really touch upon the fact that homosexuality among men was not only commonplace, but it was an accepted fact in Greek society. I mean cmon, to participate in the original olympics you had to be butt naked. (some say it was to keep women from sneaking into competition, but I think they admired the honed male body quite a bit.)

Further more Greek soldiers often had sexual relationships with other men when out doing the soldierly thing, the same has been pointed out among Japans own Samurai.
