Think about it, Im sure youll work out a way, your predecessors did.
This is why you don't bother getting into arguments with people here. you'd think a game dev would know what forum whorse are like It doesn't matter what you answer, if they don't like what you're selling they're going to find a way to turn anything you say bad.
That is true. I just wanted to shed some light on what was going on. I enjoy the debate and all the negative comments are deserved due to the history. It is my job to show we can make the game work. All critics are completely in the right to suspect it wont work out.
lol come on now, not all the posts can be bad here. He's saying it will be free to try it's greatness when their done so why not wait, then try. If it prompts you for you card then x it out and be disgusted, but not yet. This better be a good game to make up for the old and good luck man. Trying to not give ya a bad post here.
They are not ALL bad but the crtiics have good reason to doubt the success. I would. All I am asking is that they see the progress from OUR team and then come to a conclusion at that point. I hope they join us for the testing.

Hell LoudAntSoft... I always enjoy a good pvp game, and if you really are reviving it as you say, without all the old BS, toss me a beta key and if you're right I can be a pretty convincing fanboi when I need to be
edit: but if you aren't of course I'll make sure nobody on these boards ever plays ToC EVER!

Going for a trolling world record Gameloading? A few thousand more pointless one-liners and you might be a winner! a trolling record? we are talking about MOURNING here. if you played Mourning yourself then you would know about the bugged, low quality MMO.

We are not going to do pre orders or anything that requires you to pay an upfront fee. We have been in communication with two people on the old development team simply to get answers about the code/engine; this is the only connection we have with the old developement team. Taking over hundreds of thousands of line of code with poor documentation is not an easy task and required our team to ask them questions. They advised in the sense that they showed us where things were. We currently have a team of 20 programmers based in the US working on this in hopes of giving it new life. We are tarnished by what the old development company did to the game. Maybe we cant work our way out of it. However, we are going to try our best to make it work. Colton colton@thronesofchaos.com
When I see "Loud Ant Software Corrospondant" under your name where it now says "Novice Member" currently then I will BEGIN to consider what you have to say but until MMORPG.COM buys into your story this is all just another pack of lies to try to get another round of money out of people. Or a fake.

Well, I can defiantly see why people are giving Colton alot of flak (although he isnt the one who deserves it) but from what he has said adn with the new business plan which is showing that there is no way for people to loose money and get scammed why cant we give him and his team a chance, the only possible way you are going to get scammed here is to give your credit card details, but as its been said, there will be a free trial for 7 days with no credit card required and im sure by the end of the 7 days we can all formulate our views on the game and see if it is legit or not (not saying it wont be).
So come on guys, lets not troll here. Lets give the guys a break they are making a brave move to even try to resurrect this train wreck, it has such terrible history behind it that they are going to get a hell of alot of hastle. Personally i hope they do well and the game turns out to be great, then they can turn around and stick it in all you trolls faces. If it doesnt work out then no loss to us because we arent paying for it.
I have to agree with the above post though, i would like to see that you are officially from loudant for real.
Goodluck.

Yup, talk to the MMORPG.com mods to set you up with a company title. Then I think they will take your words more seriously.
If its true... Then good luck. You will fight an uphill battle, I am sure you are aware of that. Hopefully some people will see the good you do, and join your little enterprise. And remember, when the server crashes.. Dance...

I was late in finding out all of the stuff about the old Mourning mmo, but I've read the posts here and on other sites, and learned enough to stay away from that project.
After learning that there was an all new team behind the revival of the game, I did goto the website and register. I will support the game as long as what Mr. LoudAntSoft says is true. So far, he seems to carry himself very well here on these forums, whichi is in contrast to what I've read from former team members of Mourning.

Props to Loudant for exposing themselves to martyrdom.
You guys must really be committed if you're willing to endure an uphill spamfest and actually respond to some of the mudstorm that's being slung against you. Personally, I would think you'd all be in better shape just to start making a completely different game from the ground up, but I've never developed a game, and it's probably much easier to pick up where Mourning left off, code-wise. Still, I'm sure some of you at Loudant are wondering if the ready-made engine and such was worth all of this trouble.
I kinda have to agree with Haladar here. Personally I never played Mourning though I did hear about alot of the bullcrap that went on. Personally I try to stay away from most non-NorthAmerican developed games, just because we expect a different level of quality to be put into the game.
Personally I would like to see LoudAnt succeed just for what it would mean for the MMO community. If they can pull this off, if they can take a defunct MMO and purchase the code, then rebuild it and put it out there again, it's huge in this industry. Why, you may ask? I'll give you a couple examples. Earth & Beyond, Star Wars Galaxies. If LoudAnt pulls this off, then it sets a precedent whereby someone could purchase the code to Earth and Beyond, a game that many people seem to miss, and possibly start it up again. I know SWG isn't defunct yet, but from what I hear alot of people feel it's heading that way. Then there's the whole licensing thing. But just imagine for a moment that the idea of restarting a defunct MMO isn't an impossibility. Perhaps then someone will be able to (after SWG is gone) purchase it and bring back the original SWG that everyone loved. It's a thought atleast.
I'd like to give LoudAnt the benefit of the doubt, and atleast see what they have to offer. Perhaps I will be able to give a fresh perspective to the new game as I never played the old one. If you guys need another tester, I have over 12,500+ hours of testing experience, or I would be happy to write an article about the new game (based on a play session of course).
Other than that, I wish you good luck and I'll be waiting to see what happens to the game.

I don't mean to be disrepectful but I don't see where you are getting that from. Just as many North American games suck ass as any other made games.
You can't tell me anything made by SOE or Turbine (which account for a pretty good number of games) is exactly stellar in quality. In fact anything made by either of these companies is more or less garenteed to be a piece of ka ka.
In fact, there are very few North American games that at launch are worth a damn.
I WISH your statement was true, trust me.
We would be in MMO utopia if that was the case. I don't think this genre can endure many more D&DO's, RFO's, Auto Assault's, SWG's, Horizons, EQII's, shadowbane's, AC2's and just about anything launched this year.
The level of quality most of us North American gamers expects now a days is very cynical at best, putting it mildly.
