Stop trying to get away from the question. There were no pictures of the game. Only pictures of myspace, and a blog. Most of it was some sort of article. Why are you so afriad of letting the public see this information? If I am lying or misinformed, please post the articles (I am sure you saw them if you were treating legal action) for us all to look at. I would like to view it.
It's also funny most of your mods are the same old mourning mods. Why would their behavior change?
Err... why the hell do you care? It's a diff company, they're offering recompense for the Mourning team's mistakes and they're not going to do a pre-order.
Either the game will fly or it won't. But this insane hatred you have for anything related to Mourning is stupid. MMORPG.COM wouldn't allow them to advertize if they were affiliated with the original Mourning team. Get over it already.
Personally? I'm willing to watch and see what happens with this game. If they can turn the game around and make Thrones of Chaos into something worth playing? Then more power to them. As to the guy posting information about their game? It's their right to request he not do it. Deal with it.

Please understand me and so many others when we come at you with such ragged disbelief in ANYTHING associated with the old nightmares that were "Mourning".
I remember highly anticipating Mourning as it's promised PvP, perma-death, blood-line, and other features sounded not only challenging and fun... but also a step far away from the mainstream all too simple mmorpgs released these days. After anticipating "Mourning" for about two years, in early February of 2005... I was one of the first people to genuinely ask "What If" questions about the game. At this point, I started watching the Mouring forums much more closely as the game was nearing a promised release. Anyhow the following is a link to my original thread just proposing the question as to What IF Mourning is a scam and sucks. Being one of the first on this site to accuse Mourning of very possibly being a horrid game, I was flamed bigtime by endless people who thought I had lost my mind. Here's that link: (which, by the way was posted here more then 2 months BEFORE the huge infamous DerfelCardan Horrid Mourning thread)
Soon after this post however, it was definately known that Mourning was less then valiant in delivering all of their promises and their forum admins and ethics concerning customer service were a nightmare to say the least. After the games release, we still had no reviews of the game on this website, and I decided to buy the game and play it to post a review of the game from my perspective. Originally, I gave to game far too high of a score too early simply because I was shocked that the game even worked halfway correct. But then I released a second, more in-depth review a few weeks later with a much lower score (a 36% I think it was) due to the sheer number of bugs and problems I witnessed in the game as I played more.
Anyhow, I stopped my subscription to Mourning well before my intial 30 days that I had paid for with my $19.95 purchase price. This was in May of 2005. Then two months later, my bank account was suddenly hit for 11 more purchase costs and went to Limitmess Horizons. I didn't have the money to cover all of these unauthorized charges and was hit by my bank for another $270 in NSF fees. In the end, my bank account was charged over $450 because of unauthorized charges for that game. It was a real pain in the ass to clear up with my bank and took several weeks to get my bank account cleared up and those charges to be erased. At a time when I was in the hospital with my fiance having my first son born... I had no access to bank funds while this investigation continued with my bank.
My point in all of this is that you will probably find nobody with as much anger towards this game and it's unethical business practices as myself. I also have very much time devoted towards the Mourning of old. Hell I even played the old Mourning client for over 70 hours to do my review of the client.
I will call your desire to even attempt to revamp this old nightmare and turn it into something good very bold and risky to say the least. You are fighting a hell of an uphill battle as I am sure you are already very aware of. I wish you all the best of luck and I hope that you finally deliver all that so many rabid fans desire. I would also like to say that I would very much like to be able to test this game sometime before your launch to see how much has been done to it since last May when I played it last. I would also like your permission to make my experience with any beta testing allowed be known to the public via this website and its forums. Granted, people will have to play the client themselves to truly know if it will be a game that they will like. But to allow one of the most skeptical people of all who reviewed the original game in an exhaustive trial to give everyone here more insight on this game on how it's truly progressed would be worth much more then a million of your posts here hyping the game I would think. If you could convince me that this game has made BIG changes and I announced that here, it might go a long ways towards your goals of promoting your game here. There are also many others on this sight who are still very skeptical of you and this new manifestation of the old Mourning client. Their positive remarks before you release your game could also be invaluable... but this is assuming that they would even want to spend 1 moment of time giving your game a test.
I truly hope that you have nothing to be scared of. And nothing to hide as well.
Again, regardless - I wish you and your attempt to make something of this old nightmare all the best of luck.
IF they are legit and trying to make an actual game out of this mess, more power to them. Sounds like you have nothing to loose by checking it out....IF what they say is true......
Hell, I´m also one of those that followed the Mourning-train on it´s way to the big black hole. I quit bothering when this pay-to-beta thing went actually live.
Yet, regardless of the thieving and the lying of the original team, not to speak of their inability to actually make a game, they had some very original ideas that I would like to see implemented in a real game. I , for my part, will give LoudAnt the benefit of the doubt until they actually prove to be frauds.
I would even go so far as to betatest it, but my advice is, don´t even start a beta that isn´t really playable. The tolerance of the public towards this game is close to non-existent.
its right to be skeptical, but in the end, the customers are the ones who decide if the game stays afloat, so obviously if its a new company, then they will try to do the best they can!
So ill give them the benefit of the doubt, and good luck to em! Hope they can reverse the mis fortunes of the shambles that preceeded them

You cant point fingers at the LoudAnt team for spamming the warhammer boards, belive it or not Thrones of Chaos does have its fanbois and it was most probably one of them being moronic, i have seen this before.
So your statement is rather unfair to just blame Loud Ant Software for it.

Regarding North American expectations compared to other expectations, note that I said different level of quality, heh. Not necessarily a 'better' level of quality. I can't give exact examples of things we expect that say, Korean players don't care for, but I would say look at the different styles of gameplay comparing games. For example, say WoW and DAoC, compared to say RFOnline and Fung Wan Online (I forget the name they used for it over here). There's a vastly different level of, I'd say, immersion regarding your path through the game. I dunno, that's the best way I can describe it. But you get the idea.
Anyways, I'm glad that they now have an all North American development team. I think that says alot for being able to make a game that the North American market wants. (Though for some reason, I get the feeling that the CEO wasn't always American. That's a weird hunch and I don't know why it's even worth mentioning, but anyways)
As of this point, I can't think of any MMO game that has been 'resurrected' so-to-speak, so I think alot of people will be watching this one just to see if they can pull it off.
"Because it's easier to nitpick something than to be constructive." -roach5000
Since you seem so intent on making sure no one will have to pay for the game nor give a credit card number prior to having tried it, I wish you luck and hope you succeed.
I think more companies should do as much to assure potential customers that they are not going to be taken for a ride.
I hope you can make the game work, but to be honest, if it looks as though its going to be a fiasco as bad as DnL, whether you charge for it or not, I suggest swallowing your pride telling the community that the game won't ever be marketable and starting a new and improved next gen MMO.
If that was the case, it would show integrity on the part of your company that not many other companies would show.

Loud Ant Software bought the remains of the disaster Age of Mourning in hope that we could revive it and make it into a good game. We are currently working on fixing all the bugs, redoing all the animations and models. You can see the progress being made on our site Thronesofchaos.com. We are a completely new team, all US based. We have no intention of ripping people off. In fact, our intentions are to make amends to the people that had lost money through the old development team when the game was Age of Mourning. We are offering all these people free lifetime accounts. In addiition, on the release of the game, we are going to offer the game on a trial basis. If you dont like it after 7 days, then you dont have to buy a key, you dont have to buy anything. We are not going to charge you a penny for a game you dont want to play. We are not going to do pre orders or anything that requires you to pay an upfront fee. We have been in communication with two people on the old development team simply to get answers about the code/engine; this is the only connection we have with the old developement team. Taking over hundreds of thousands of line of code with poor documentation is not an easy task and required our team to ask them questions. They advised in the sense that they showed us where things were. We currently have a team of 20 programmers based in the US working on this in hopes of giving it new life.
We are tarnished by what the old development company did to the game. Maybe we cant work our way out of it. However, we are going to try our best to make it work.
I got to say that is amazing. Free lifetime accounts. ^_^ I mean if anything you have my vote for like the coolest way to step up to the plate and say "Sorry you were screwed". I might actually be looking forward to Thrones now.

Haha, awesome. I had a nagging feeling you'd deny ever sending me those. It's entirely your perogative to lie about it, but the fact of the matter is that I gain nothing by making all of this up and it's entirely in-character for you to threaten me with lawsuits, since you'd already done it once before. You know just as well as I do that you sent these emails and that I printed verbatim what you (and I) said. I lost the emails because I was a dumbass and reformatted my hard drive when I built a new computer, and I neglected to save my Thunderbird folder because, once again, I'm a dumbass and thought all the mail was stored on my server.
I have no reason whatsoever to make any of this up, in fact I'd prefer that it had never happened in the first place.
And, if these emails never happened, does that mean that the articles can go back up? If you supposedly never told me to take them down under threat of lawsuit, then you're giving me carte blanche to put them back up again, and I'll do it in a heartbeat if you keep up with this ridiculous charade.
Please don't be ridiculous. You know perfectly well what emails you sent and didn't send. In the case that you want to keep denying that you sent the email threatening with a lawsuit for "slander and libel" concerning the articles that I wrote, we will take you at your word and repost the articles. We will expect no further legal action from you in that case. Frankly I think it would be a better PR move for you to ignore the 4 articles rather than underhandedly trying to censor them.
As for your offer of a free test account and free lifetime account you can send all details to jdodger@khalkar.net , I have no interest in giving your game an unfair rap and if you want to prove that you will do a better job with it than the Clown-Around family did I would love to give you that opportunity.
You might be unaware of this, but Krel's Library was initially created as a *fan* site and information post for the game Mourning while Pajari and I were slaving away at the game's lore. It only became used as a place to post anti-Mourning articles when it became clear that such actions were needed. The site will continue to function as a resource for uncensored information regarding the game whether that information be good news or bad news.
If you can prove to us that ToC is not just another cover-up name for Realms of Torment or (Age of) Mourning, and start dealing with us honestly, we will fully reciprocate with good reviews and willingly remove the articles you got upset over.
Frankly Colton it's 100% up to you whether you want to be a legitimate developer or a lying cheat like Dave. I'm really quite unimpressed that you would lie about your legal threats but I'd love to give you a chance to make up for that. Hell if you can really turn things around and maybe offer a paycheck I'm sure PJ and I would love to take up our old roles in the lore team and write you a kickass backstory
Take care and I hope to be speaking to you on better terms soon.
I never said that I didnt write him telling him to take down copyrighted material; you can find that admission all through this thread.
All registered users from Krels can come for testing. I saw a total of 6 on your forums and one of them is me, and you two, so let me know who the other 3 are and I will add them as well.

THE SOURCE for the truth about Mourning
I never said that I didnt write him telling him to take down copyrighted material; you can find that admission all through this thread.
All registered users from Krels can come for testing. I saw a total of 6 on your forums and one of them is me, and you two, so let me know who the other 3 are and I will add them as well.
