Everquest was my frist as well. I played it a few months just before Luclin, and continued to play it for 4 years after. Still thinking of going back though I don't have my 65 warrior anymore
It's still my favorite -- when I play current games with some old AC friends we still talk AC the whole time. It was huge, it was smart and it was terribly addictive. Three things you don't find to often these days...
Well, i'd love Everquest 2 but switched to wow since most of my friends play there... and i'm getting impatient waiting for the latest expansion - Burning crusade...A bit dissapointed with Blizzard for moving the release date from originally November to January next year...

DAoC was my first, started playing a few weeks after the european launch. Euro servers went down hill though, so I moved to USA servers. would still be playing now if the time zone difference wasn't making the numbers so short on my server when i'm on.

My first one was a trial account on EVE Online, about 2 years ago. An IRL mate who plays it a lot introduced me and it was a very interesting experience. Later on i tried a few free MMORPGS such as KAL online. I actually played KAL for a bit, have some chars of lvl 30+, but the extreme grinding demotivated me to go on with it. Then i finally took a paying acount on EVE and quit again, then started again and quit again, while playing some other free MMORPG during that time (like Planeshift).
Pre-CU SWG. After that fell apart, I wandered through (not necessarily in order) WoW, EVE, COH/COV, SoG/DnL (what a debacle)...I even tried AO for about 5 minutes.
Now I just sit by and wait for either SWG classic or a SWG2...also waiting for LOTRO.
Runescape, but now I hate it. I also started up on maplestory and habbohotel, which i both have started to play with my friends again recently after a year of absence.
My first "mmo" was Alien Adoption Agency, browser style MUD, next it was Runescape, then Helbreath(a pretty good korean game, was free at the time).
My first true mmorpg is Anarchy Online, I played it for 3 years and I still turn it on and just wander around the cities remembering the good old times, it has been the best for me, and it will always remain to be so. I am just sad for the reasons I had to quit; game became laggy and unplayable on my 56k at the time, leaving me no choice but to leave. Now I try to play, I find that the community is almost dead, comprised most of players on free trial.
My first MMO was EQ2 but I only played it for a couple months as I got addicted to COH when it was released in EU. Ive tried a lot of other MMOs but can never seem to enjoy them as much as COH and COV, Im hoping that this will change when VSOH is released.

My very first was RuneScape... I quit after my lvl 101 got hacked and I could not get it back...

Do text-based games count? I did muds and such for a long time, but I guess that's not a mmo--not massive enough.
I played Astonia III for a long while too, which is a 2-D mmo. After that SWG until it died, and many since then...none of them living up to SWG!
D
Meridien 59, Mankind, EQ, DAOC, SWG, L2, Planetside, WoW, CoH, GW, etc ..... don't remember the order after Daoc

Not really a MMO, but the game that i was VERY addicted to would have to be Diablo 2.
My first MMO was Dark Age of Camelot. I miss the days of not knowing anything and being a complete n00b. lol
WoW is my new fav but im slowly hating it
