Well, I certainly could try, but I'd rather ask how does that actually have to do with anything I said?  I was simply pointing out to you that you might want to take a few of those examples out of your post, unless your really advocating prostitution and drug use, and were under some kind of absurb belief that the only reason these acts are illegal is because of religion.

Well it was sarcastic, and therefore opposite of what I was saying, so you apparently believe that it is right to impede on certain freedoms because they are "morally wrong".  And of course I know that those weren't the only reasons that drugs and prostitution were illegalized; drugs were illegalized for economic purposes, and prostitution for the spread of disease.  But the main reasons behind there illegalization would be because they are considered wrong, whilst they harm no one othere than those involved.

I swear, I lose faith in you people every day.

I'm not going to bother explaining why laws that prohibit self-detrimental activities exist, as it is nothing more than plain logic, and if you lack that, then there's no real reason to discuss anything with you.

People should have the right to inflict self-harm, as long as it has no dire outward consequences. If it doesn't bother you, why should you care? A people have a right to themselves, for good and bad.

So, let me ask you a question friend.  Should suicide be legal as well?

As for your question, no, I don't think its right to create laws based on individual moralities, but I do think that the laws that exist (for the most part) are needed, no matter what the reasoning behind them is.

I don't think suicide being illegal deters those who commit it. Why do they care if they broke the law if they're dead anyway?

Well, then I suppose I disagree.  I was under some wild assumption that it my government was supposed to protect me.  Whether it be from others or myself.   The simple fact is that these "rights" you proclaim, do not exist.  At least not in America.  They never have and never will (okay, there are exceptions.  Like that Cathouse place).   I suggest moving to Amsterdam friend.

The government wasn't designed to protect people from themselves, but from itself and others.  Our government is not supposed to take the role of "big brother," hence the bill of rights.

Please.  Even if the same laws SHOULD logically apply to both drugs and alcohol, we both know it won't happen.  Alcohal is too accepted and intergrated into society. Too much money comes from it, and its one of the last vices we have that we can actually..well, do.  Trust me, I know the importance of beer my friend.  I do live in a college dorm.

    LOL!!!

So you truly believe that the United States government cares for your well being?!?!?!?!?

Their only goal is to be elected and maintain the status quo.

Marijuana is illegal.  Alcohol is not.

How many DUI deaths occured due to marijuana consumption compared alcohol?

    Hmmmmm?

So what is the problem with Illegal drugs?  Alcohol kills and destroys more people and families each year than any other drug.

Of course they don't really care.

That doesn't change the fact that their laws are aimed towards protecting people.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense for Marijuana to be illegal while you can buy beer at any ungodly hour and hop behind a wheel.  Congratulations Sir.  You are the King of the Obvious.

I don't know.  I'm not trying to get into government conspiracies.  The theories about all the money being in "brown" countries.  You know, the CIA introducing crack and cocaine into black communities, US military secretely shipping illegal merchandise overseas, etc. etc.  Fact is, people won't accept drugs being legalized.  I agree with this because it will only make it easier for others to hurt themselves. I suppose I don't suffer from indifference toward my fellow man as some of you happen to.  People accept alcohol.  Its "mainstream", and already a VERY important part of American society, culture, and economy.

I don't care how many movies you've seen, nose candy does not compare.

I forgot what we were arguing about.

    I don't. Read history.

Right, because those relativistic twits that have held Supreme Court justice positions over the ages actually know the difference between their ass and their head - Which is probably quite excusable, considering where one usually resides - Let alone how to read a very clear, and blatant constitution, without bias, or agenda.

Nothin against the RoC for that.  But it is true, in comparison to other countries, the US is stupid.

    You're right.

When you get right down too it, there really is NO separation of church and state.

BUT! The only good thing is, marriage isn't ran by the church. It's ran by the state.
If it was ran by the church, than only christian/catholics would be allowed to get married.

Thankfully it isn't like that. But that's all that's good. :/

Oh no no, you missread me.

I doubt China will come kick our ass anyways. So far we're on "okay" terms with them. But what I ment was that because we are on "okay" terms with them, if worse comes to worse, we can use them like an ally. If they are willing to of course. So far, that's a no. :d

But ye, sadly America isn't the best military on Earth. X.x And we never will be if we keep sending our young men out to be shot for NO reason what so ever.
