Why would you choose WoW over EQ2?

    The repetitive grind was one of the things that I hated about SWG... I'm much more of a story line/quest type of person.  The reason I will probably end up in EQII vice WoW is from everything I'm seeing, WoW is all about power leveling.  EQII (at least what Sony has let slip so far) seems to be much more quest oriented.  Maybe I'm being myopic and missing something, but that is how it feels right now.

    Both games are looking very good. Why do I chose World of Warcraft ? Coz it's made by Blizzard and all there games I have played online have been very fun. As for EverQuest I played eq1 for about 1 - 2 years. I had a lvl 65 Ogre Warrior. Over the years I find SoE are a bunch of ass holes really. eq expanions suck they just bringing crap out to get more $$$. They total milk there crap games for what there worth. Starwars Galaxies and Planet Side where also flops. So really why would u pick eq2. It's made by SoE and they are shocking people. Blizzard have much more care for there gamers and bring out turly nice work.

    Blizzard = Really good gamez company that know what they are doing Plus Warcraft story line and world is really nice. It should make for a very good MMORPG game.

    SoE = Scaming Company milking there crap games for anything they can get out of it. EverQuest 1 had a shittest story line. It was all lvling , items and killing harder NPCS. SoE turly have no idea about a good MMORPG and i will not be getting any MMORPG games from them.

    I also think eq2 will be alot shitter than what SoE make it out to be. I also think it will not have all the stuff in it that SoE have told people it will have. They will problly do something like say it's in the up comming expanion Set and sell it for like $50.

    All the people who will be playing WoW will be little kids.  There is nothing new in WoW that doesn't exsist in other games.  So stop crying over the fact that everquest 2 beats WoW without even trying!  So go SOE!!!!!!!!!!!  imageimageimageimageimage

    I think both games look great. They are different in their own ways. I am leaning more towards WoW, I just don't think I can play both simultaniously .. if I could, I would but that would leave me with absolutely no freetime for RL things ;) I am still waiting for the complete finished product to make my decision.

     You can't judge a book by it's cover though... In this case, you can't judge the companies. For example, i liked Blizzards titles as well.... They appealed to me because they are simple games that can be fun time to time... Now what happens when an mmo becomes simple? It turns out to be a "point 'n click" fest.

     I bought SWG as well, and i didn't like it one bit. But if you take the time to read up on EQ2, you'll know that that is a completely different game than SWG.

     So if your going to spend 50 dollars on which company you like more, i wouldn't suggest it image.

    Little kids? For some reason EQ fanboys think Blizzard isnt much to brag about... Unfortunatley they are the only ones who have yet to realize Blizzard is the Supreme Diety of Game Developers. Since Starcraft, every single one of their games has been revolutionary and perfect in almost every way. A future Blizzard title is sure to be amazing, as will WOW be. The Blizzard fan base is internationally daunting and will be a sure competitor to EQ2 if not a complete overshadowing monster!

    Have you played the game? I've played through the alpha and beta and the graphics are incredible! The sense of atmosphere for each locale is immersive and beautifully detailed. Blizzard has amazing artist and their work really shows through in the title. Although I never attacked EQ2's graphics...ive watched several trailers and scene a plethora of screens and must say that the models are generic, over-glossy (hair looks like glazed pottery) and the animations are poor to say the least. EQ2 will only do well because it is under the name of "everquest"...

    why pick between the two, wow is said to have an open beta prior to release, and while the graphics aren't state of the art, at least my 1.7 with the fx 5900 will be able to run it smooth, unlike eq2.

    imageEverquest2 only required 1ghz and 512mb and a 64bit grafics card. Please people this is broadband, it is not the mirical wire. Not everyone has a t1 connection. It will not reqiure a large spec computer to run. As for the specs, if you want the rest check the actaul web-page. As for the grafics, I feel the grafics for world of war craft fits the genre, they chose to make it like that because all the freaking games are based on that art work, that is why people like the game, if they made it super real then it would not be warcraft. As for everquest, from what I understand the story line is not the greatest as for blizzards world of warcraft, they have a quest system that is based on the story of the games.

    I personally like warcraft because of the storyline and that is why I will buy and play the game. If you are not a beta tester for warcraft and do not play everquest2 all you can do is speculate, so please don't give me this crap about warcraft and everquest2 grafics are crap and good, all you have seen are screenshoots, and to my knowlege, screenshoots are taken and made to look good, if you saw every nity grity thing every one would insult both games.

    If you are going to have a discusion make the facts clear and no bullshitting, it is not wort the time to look big infront of people you never will meet face to face. Please, I come to these things to hear facts not fiction and personal opions based on what you think it's like. If I wanted that I would stay in my lecture about artificial intelegence with the famous Kevin Warick going on about how we will all be machines. (for engineering insurficient people he is a world famous cybernetics profecore who is claimed to be the first cyborg.)

    I am completely with Rathma on this i mean WoW is currently in beta and many people have been able to actually play it so if gameplay is good. However this is not the case with Everquest 2. The graphics may be pretty nice but to tell u the truth i dont really care, the graphics are also good in WoW and it has excellent gameplay as well as a cool story. As far i can see as well there is only going to be two big cities in the whole of everquest (good and evil). This makes it less interesting with less exploration while WoW has one for every race.

    Anyways we will have to wait till Eq2 beta actually starts before we can really comment properly

    2 starting cities, but not two cities.  There are cities elswhere, but there are only 2 starting cities.  This just helps it along becuase if you look at the first everquest, cities are ghost towns, and only one or two cities have any of people in them at any given time.  This will be the way it will turn out to be in WoW.  Its also good because friends don't have to travel very long distances to meet up because they wanted to be different races.  Only 2 starting cities actually adds to the amount of exploration and intrestingness.  All the old starting cities no one knows what happened to them.  So it will be fun exploring the vastness of the caves in neriak trying to find out what happened that made the dark elves flee.  Having more than 2 starting cities is really a wast and it saves time in game when trying to sell items, look for groups, find friends, ect..  As i mentioned before there will be other cities you can go and vist.  I love the idea of haveing only two starting cities.  It makes it so they're are always people in the sections of the cities doing quests, traveling, ect.  It s great idea. image
