This game is Dungeon Siege on steroids.

I believe the reason it wont do well here is because it's not the type of game that is popular in the West.  Warhammer/AoC are both AD&Dish even though they bring new things to the table.  That style of game is very popular in the west.  Look at the games that do the best here and they are games like WoW, EQ, EQ2, DAOC, LOTRO, etc.  They are all class type leveling games with a fantasy setting and lots of quests.  Granada Espanda may have some originality to it, but that doesn't mean it will be popular.

Solo game? Looks like its not even in the same genre as Warhammer and AOC.. Since they're MMOs

Pretty much every free to play MMORPG, Lineage 2, Ragnarok Online.

He asked for SUCCESSFUL point and click MMO's in North America, not just what games were released in America and are point and click.

Gonna need to dig alittle deeper then L2 and Rag because neither of them are considered successful here.

although i doupt it will really compete with AoC or WAR but it does appear to be a fresh start from most other korean MMOs

If you mean  Gameloading it is because he comes off as a literate troll. Not saying that's what he is, but that's what it often looks like.

Wow, you must have your "Irony detection" set on Ultra-Sharp, don'tcha? :D

Of course it was my opinion only ^_^

Good grief Gameloading, you are going to get in trouble yet for ban evasion. Just use a proxy and make an account that has nothing to do with your screenname until your main account is unbanned. Hehehe... I mean... Don't.

Why compare crap MMO's (Western made) to awesome games like GE?..

    ---

    Yeah that's how you sound.

It's alright if you say "Games developed in Korea for Koreans with Korean gameplay aren't my type of game", but when you flat out say "Korean games suck" it's kind of ignorant and not wanted in topics such as these. This topic is too discuss how and why the OP thinks GE will do successful against unreleased MMO's like AoC and War, not for you to spam racism.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow i can't believe how much hate there is for asian mmo's in this forum.  Look if you don't like asian mmo's then thats fine, thats your opinion, but to each his own.  There is a definite difference between Asian mmo's and other mmo's.  Yes, there is more of a grind, but some people like that. I personally enjoy games where the more work you do the stronger your character is compaired to others. As opposed to the play 2 weeks and get level 20 like everyone else.  Thats my opinion and im entitled to it just as everyone else is. Some like this type of genre, some don't, get over it.

As always I will laugh at people who say there is no content. yes, the content is surrounding a kind of grind but not really. I am surprised by the massive amounts of quests that there are. Yes, there are a lot of quests. Anyone who has tried GE can testify to that, I believe. In the PK servers there are open PVP and a duel system. There are factions with raids and tons of fast paced battling. Ridiciously good graphics as well.

umm GE is already out in the US.. its called swords of the new world lmao.

but unlike GE its p2p from what i have been told and found out.

so this whole thread is kind of irelivent as the game is already out or due out shortly.

i cant see it beating AoC or WaR simply because of the diffrent styles and game systems they use.

it would be like compairing a hybrid car with a nascar......

90% of them are a simple "grind to the highest level", with cartoony or ridiculous graphics, fighting the same rehashed monsters over and over again.

and this new breed of korean MMOs is even more ridiculous.  adding poorly-implemented Tekken-esque fighting game concepts on top of an MMO is not a recipe for success.

It's ridiculous because it's in the 10% that's not in a grind? Good grief.

So this makes WoW bad too?

WoW has both of these, cartoony graphics and a massive grind. The grind might be covered in chocolate but it's the same stuff over and over.

well its not going to be big in north america (in terms of WoW numbers) not advertised enough, not the right "Style", not well known, not whats expected

it may be fairly big in terms of formerly unknown asian import games though

(by formerly unknown i basically am excluding FFXI which has/had a somewhat big american playerbase, but FF is a HUGE franchise)

    Amount of gamers World Wide

American (5 to 7 million) Wide range of games

Chinese gamers (10-25million) Wide verity of games

Korean (15 to 20 million) Wide verity of games (8million SuN // around 2 million Starcraft log-ons a day from Korea) <--- wrong for SC I think its more

Taiwan (2 to 5 million) I believe is way wrong

    Japan (5 to 10 million)

The highest game to date is SuN and L2 for most register and active accounts avg. at 15 million

Also the only American/Western game that even made it close in the middle east and Asia was WoW with about 4million users from it.

so .... let me think here...........................thinking........almost done................................hmmmm.............. wondered off sry......................................Here we go!

America has the lowest gamers, the lowest amount of popular games and the lowest amount of internet users

We (United States) is ranked number 16 in the world for broadband connection and our gov't is to company controlled to fix this... if we did like the Koreans and got fiber to the home and the gov't paid for it... now baam :) (not monthly)

We are at the lowest for online gamers and games made... on avg there are over 30 to 40 Asian MMOs made a year and about 3/4 have over 1million logins

So next please, when you say Asian MMO's generally tend to...suck.  Change it to American MMO's generally tend to...suck

Case in point against those fanbois claiming that WoW is the "biggest" MMO ever. It's not.

I think all that proves is that people in Asian countries are more willing to waste large quantities of time on games.  A lot of their games are extemely time consuming and I've yet to hear of an American who played a game so long they died from it.  It's also a matter of taste.  Both countries are differnt cultures and like differnt things.  The Asian market is bigger so obviously the games they play should have more subscribers.  The western made games appeal to people in the west and are made to do so.  That means we generally will like them better then Asian MMOs just like they will like the Asian made games better because it has more of their culture in it.

That's ironic, considering there has just been multiple topics discussing an addiction to WoW and MMO's aswell as an american kid crying because he cant continue playing. I don't think it has much to do with their culture being in the game, but rather the ability to just go off and grind by yourself to improve your character's strength, where as in western MMO's you're forced into groups and socializing more. I also think that the western market is more suited for PvE'rs then it is for PvP. Granted Eastern MMO's have alot of mob killing, but the actual game is designed and made around the PvP concept of the game.
