I wasn't comparing them to each other. I was stating that I have an interest in both but a bigger interest in one of them. I was saying I was willing to try the one I have less interest in because it was coming out first and would not interfere with my play time. I personally consider it silly to be more interested in a game because of boobies and gore. I'm not saying you dont have other reasons but thats the example you used. The things that interest me in AOC aren't boobies and gore.

And the things that interest you in war have been done to death, and its time for something new. But if your still not burnt out on high fantasy elves ad orcs and whatnot, then go for it. Just dont get upset when you quit after 6 months cause "its the same thing" threds pop up soon thereafter (not saying aoc will be perfect, but hoping to good enough to keep my attention for at least a year).
Humans have been done to death in other mmorpgs. Humans are the only race in AoC. Seems silly to quote race boredom as a reason when AoC has the least amount of variety of them all.
As for blood gore and nudity... seen it all before. That isn't anything new either.
If anything its the combat system that brings something new. But I'm waiting for the pvp videos to start showing up before I make definite conclusions about that. The released videos so far have not been that exciting or deep to me combat wise.
Kishe its fine that you are tired of elves and the like. In honesty I prefer to play Humans as well. Gangster-man didn't read your post because your name leads me to beleive there isn't anything worth reading.
Actually, I think AOC fans will stay with the game no matter when it comes out, same is true for WAR fans.
What Funcom risks if they push AOC too close to the WAR release (and there is no real indication that this is likely) is losing the "fence-sitters" who really haven't made up their mind.
These folks might be waiting on WAR, however if AOC releases first and is a good game, they'll stay with it..and never give WAR a try.
Even though I'm firmly in the WAR camp, I might try AOC if it comes out in October. But if they both release early next year then not a chance, I'll just wait on WAR.

They don't even have female models developed yet lawl.
Well, I'm certainly no expert on this game, (just logged into the main site right now for the first time), but I just took a quick look at the screen shots and under the title of Khemi (a town I think?) there is a shot of what certainly appears to be a female character....
but maybe not... certainly someone else can verify your claim.

Both games seem good in there own ways.. I think both Aoc and War are at least worthy of giving it a shot. Even nicer is that Aoc comes out before War so it give us sometime to play it. Once War comes out i will try that as well, and one of the 2 will prevail over the other. But either way, i wish one was out now cause Im sitting around reading about MMOs in stead of playing em... lol boringgggg!!!!!1
I dont know why people make these two games sound like a godamn cult, seriously guys do more rl stuff than waste your time on typing up stuff like this, They are both games, just games they will come out when they are ready and you will play what you like, theres really no point in bashing other games to make your game feel superior thats just plain immature and stupid.
If you have been waiting for AoC for years now a coupple more months will kill you? And who is to say that if WAR comes out before AoC you cant try it? If you are in a limited budget than I can understand the wait for one or the other but really this isnt a cult where it has to be one or the other.

Even if it is pushed back there will be no war like most have said about SWG i wated for that game for like 4 years while 2 1/2 of those years was watching it get pushed back constantly being pissed off. Even when the game was released it was obviously not complete. I blame SOE for listening to the players and screwing up the game, giving them exactly what they wanted and when they got it they stoped playing because the game was way to damn easy after that. More then likely if this game is pushed forward to fast it will suck very much in the beggining bugs etc.
If AoC gets pushed back i wont mind tbh. For one ill be in the middle of my most intensive semester yet. Second, its just a game so i can live w/o it. WAR seems like a great game but it doesnt have me hyped up at all so theres no reason to just buy something when the one im waiting for its out yet. I prefer to keep playing EvE till then.

I'm just pointing out that instead of making unfounded guesses why not try finding some information about the subject. This is the problem that plagues all MMORPG's boards. Everyones an Expert, but they never know anything. Funcom has said OVER and OVER and OVER again, they will release October 30th. They've never pushed an exact date. They made estimates about what quater they will finish in. IF they've done that every time in the past, WHY set a date this time? Why not just say Q3 2007, and then push it. Q3 is the best time to release software sales wise. They've got every intention to release the game. Funcom has had more then enough time to work this out. SpeedTree®RT makes it so they don't have to code that, its basicly done for them. They have Game Mechanics to work on. They've gotten Licences for all the Major Engines in the game. Its not like they've had to reinvent the wheel here. They've had the game up and running for 2 years, they've been tweaking it ever since. Why wouldn't it release on the date they've been pushing at every media outlet. They want people to know when its comming out, so they can be there to buy it.
I'm not basing this on the fact that "OMG I WANT THE GAME NOW!" because reguardless my wants won't change crap.
I personally have no interest in WAR. I have rejoined EQ2 to "kill time" till AoC comes out . I have been wating for AoC since 2005, if they push it back again i think i can live. I do, however, have a strong beleif that AoC will launch in october 07.
This is why i stopped really caring about games that were in the development stage...you just set yourself up for disappointment every time the realease date is changed or a feature doesn't live up to the hype that YOU put on it yourself.

i did the same thing EQ2 on a pvp server nice and freash
know a lot of my peers, fans of AOC are going to hate me when I say this. I hope it gets pushed back, for selfish reasons. I'm moving to Europe where my wife is from so my old rig is going to be a hand me down. I don't know if I can get a new rig before release in October before release. I plan on getting a dual or quad core system, depending on the price drop with 8800gts possible in SLI and 2g of Patriot over clockers ram.
So a December or early next years release will mean I still get to play on launch day and I'm not behind all the people that play at release. But to the OP, I'd buy this game if it came out July of next year. I'm completely bored of conventional MMO's and will not play Warhammer because WoW sucked enough.
My opinion is Funcom at this point is taking WAY WAY WAY to long to release, I have actively been following this game now for over 2 years and I have to say that they have till October 30th for me. Another postponement will have me trying WAR or another promising game, one way or the other my wait is over on October 30, 2007. I am done waiting.

Um, no. No I would not go to WAR. I most likely just would stop playing all video games until AoC comes out. I pretty much already am playing no games right now. I have no active MMO subs, don't really play single player games anymore. I'll just live my life doing other things. Not going to bash WAR or anything, it may suit some people but definately does not suit me.

I'll be playing AoC.
It's silly try to compare the two when both represent way different genre.
WAR = High fantasy: Orcs, elves, dwarves...been there, done that...not to forget this game is teen rated.
Conan = Low fantasy: Humans, ethnitics , realism...this game is mature rated, has gore, violence, FULL nudity.
I wasn't comparing them to each other. I was stating that I have an interest in both but a bigger interest in one of them. My main reason for prefering AoC is i'm bored to death of high fantasy genre and the generic Dwarfs, elfs, etc...

Not me. Warhammer is wayy to cartoonish for me. I'll just stick with EQ2 until AoC comes out.

2007... the year for MMOs. What a joke that is turning out to be. I guess it is 2008...the year for MMOs.
Because of Warhammer? Age of Conan will release 2007 I bet your Thunderfury on it.

I believe you're wrong on that. AoC isn't going to make the 07 release date. Not by a long shot. I'd expect to see a 1Q 08 release.
