Just a guess, but I'd say todays amount was smaller in comparison to the rest of the weeks amount. They probably want to do a small test run of the entire process and download. If they did a real large group and had problems, then they'd be hearing a TON of complaining at the moment.
Just a note, I was signed in to Fileplanet when I signed up for the email notification earlier in the week. Even though I signed up for notification to my gmail and msn addresses, it seems the notification was sent to the email address I originally signed up for Fileplanet with!
So, if you are relying on email notification for a heads up, make sure to check the email address associated with your fileplanet account, even if you entered another address in the notification sign up page.
(The time stamp on the email to that address would have beat the time I saw a post on the AoC boards).

Leucent, April 23 batch of keys will be later at pacific standard times (PST).
It basically says YAY FOR YOU!!! and within the first couple lines will be the UNIQUE KEY. You will know that you got it. The key is obvious.

For a price. If I had to pay for Lineage 2 beta I probably wouldn't have spent 3 years giving them money to play it.
I've been really looking forward to AoC, and I'm serious about buying it. But if I can't try the game out first I'm not shelling out the money to buy a game I may or may not like. True some people have Fileplanet subscriptions, but those people try all the games and try to take full advantage of it. Most of them don't stick around at one MMO, they just take a taste of everything. I'm not sure if this is the kind of subscriber base Funcom wants. I may only be serious about 1-2 beta's per year. It's not worth spending $15 to try 1 or 2 games and still have the chance of not getting in.
It's not even written in gold if the game will work on my computer or how well it will actually run (frame rate) etc.
Using Comrade I got my notification instantly. Just a suggestion. And for those complaining about having to be a fileplanet subscriber to play: QQ more.
