Look, I'm reading this as a precursor to see if whether or not I should invest in this game come release day. Negative opinions, and also positive opinions, when backed up by evidence are totally welcomed. So, keep them coming. What I'm really worried about is it seemed a lot of people arn't looking past the lag/bugs and enjoying the game's mechanics; and they also arn't being immersed. That's more of a teltale sign to me about the a game than bugs or lag.
Also, most of the people who seem to have favorable opinions about this game are just giving short one-liners, often with dumb language and acting like children. I'd rather not be playing with these people. I'd rather play with someone who wrote a compelling and thoughtful review of the game; and it seems like the majority of those people arn't liking it....
So where should I go from here? You tell me. It doesn't look good.
Your are not far wrong there Almuderas. Actually some of the more balanced reviews find stuff to like about the game but they get shouted down by the fanbois if they mention stuff they don't like.

I think this poll is actually quite nice indicator of how the game is being thought about currently. That is to say, about 2 positive votes come for every 1 negative and the majority of people are doing the sensible thing, namely waiting for release to form their final opinion.
If you have doubts about the game for whatever reason, I would direct you to the latter part. Allow yourself to relax and wait for release. Allow yourself to get a first hand review and/or try it via a buddy-key or even wait for a free-trial period to crop up.
Pre-Ordering is always a risk and unless you are absolutely certain you will be able to enjoy the game enough to stick through even some rough spots, you should not do it.

If you take this poll as an indicator, it's not really great for Funcom, is it? Two positive for every negative aren't good sales odds, especially when you consider that nearly 45% have played the beta and are still undecided. You would assume that the majority of people who got a key and bothered to download something this big, were, at least at one point in time, interested in the game. I preordered and I didn't cancel, but I don't know that this poll and the amount of complaints predominantly about performance, is a very good sign. Funcom can spin it any way they like, but they have a bit of a mess on their hands.

Open Beta-Participants are in no way a good indicator of the player-base of a game, particularly if it is capped, like it is in this case. You get all sorts of people who just see "Oh lookee, a Beta, I never heard about this, don't even care, but hey, free playing!". 45% Undecided means that people will at least give it the benefit of doubt until release and withhold judgement until the final version. You'll get roughly 23k people waiting till release, roughly 17k still preordering, and maybe 7,5k not preordering anymore.
I think that's pretty OK, considering that those 23k will be around at launch to check out the game. If FC does a good job, they will proceed to buy it, if not, they won't. So it's all up to them now.
And in a post-Vanguard MMORPG community, I am thinking that is a pretty good thing.
I don't think it's a good indicator either, which is why I prefaced my post that way. I only posted because you seemed to think it was a good indicator. You've confused me. Anyway, if I were to go by this poll and the majority of posts I've seen all over the innerloops, I would say less people are interested in pre-ordering this game than were before.
I think one of the reasons you are seeing longer, more thoughtful responses from people who don't like the game is because they are in no hurry to get back to playing. People who are enjoying the OB on the other hand, would rather fire off a one-liner, then get back to having fun.
As to the comment that the game lacks immersion, I have to disagree strongly. I'll concede that any game lacks immersion when you don't bother to immerse yourself, but I have to say that if you actually listen to the NPCs in quests, rather than clicking through all the dialogue to get back to the fighting, the writing in this game is the best of any currently existing MMO. Especially in the nighttime "single player" sequences. Speaking as a big fan of single player games like Planescape: Torment, Fallout, and Mass Effect, I have never felt more immersed in an MMO than I do in the early stage of AoC. Do I wish there were even more options, that is was even more immersive? Sure, but I only want that because the quality of the writing is so far beyond that of other MMOs that I start to subconciously judge it by the standards of single player RPGs.
Setting writing aside, since it can't save an otherwise bad game by itself, and many people don't care about it anyway, we have to look at the gameplay. There is actually enough meaningful variety in the classes in AoC that it isn't rationally possible to talk about "the gameplay." The closest you can come to doing so is to talk about a specific Archetypes gameplay, with the proviso that some of the classes are so unique that they warrant a seperate discussion even from their AT.
The rogue and soldier classes make use of the "revolutionary" combat system. Obviously a marketing term, most of us can agree that revolutionary is stating the case a bit too strongly, but the system is certainly out of the box and daring when compared to the cookie cutter trend we have seen in most MMOs since WoW. The real question is whether the more manual flavor is more or less fun than having an auto-attack system. This is a question of personal preference, and thus it is fairly pointless to discuss it at all, but so far I find the fast paced, more interactive nature of the system to be a refreshing change after countless worlds where you can hit the auto-attack key then go grab a snack, then come back to find yourself still alive and the fight still not over.
If you do find that you don't like the combat system, you will find that the mage and healer classes are more traditional, by virtue of the simple fact that for the most part they don't make use of the melee system. If you are a fan of traditional magic users in other MMOs, there is really no reason to dislike the Demonologist in AoC, though if you are more into Necromancers you might find their pets inability to hold aggro a little off-putting at first. The Herald of Xotli is a very unique class which has to be played to be understood. The healers manage to fill the role they traditionally occupy in other MMOs, while also being able to hold their own in fights and have a flavor that will have far wider appeal than the traditional masochistic healbot niche.
I can see I have already written too much, and most of those currently browsing these threads will probably stop reading as soon as they see that I say something positive, but in closing I would have to say that even with some performance issues in the OB, this game is by far the most fun I've had in an MMO in a long time, and given that the 3 day head start (using the final client) only costs $5.00, I would advise anybody who thinks there is even a remote chance they will play the game to pony up the $5.00, see what they think, and then cancel their pre-order if they decide the final product isn't up to snuff. Hell, the pre-order codes work even if you cancel your pre-order, so cancel as soon as you get the code, and then do the headstart if you are more pessimistic. Either way, $5.00 is a pretty low price to pay in order to be sure you are avoiding a mistake.

i m not actually cancelling a pre order because i had nt pre ordered the game . what i ve seen of the open beta has nt given me any confidence that the game will be any good on release . lots of the same issues i heard about vanguard prior to release seam to be raised in these forums with conan . unless the release version of the game is vastly different from the beta this games going to be a disaster .
take my advice wait for a free trial or flush your money down the toilet .

Considering out of your three posts two have been the same trolling crap in different topics and this one I don't see how you expect anyone to take you seriously especially with your grammar. How old are you anyway? I doubt your old enough to buy the game...
