I'm saying yes, even though I wasn;t in the PW because I'm Euro and GOA didn't do it

If the completed game looks like what I saw in the Preview Weekend, then no. They still have a bit of time though and from what I've heard, the Closed Beta is a few steps ahead already. If they're fixing a couple of the bigger issues (such as mobs pathing off into God knows where, CTDs every 30 mins and PQs not scaling) then I would certainly buy it in a heartbeat.

After playing roughly 20 hours during the PW I will be most definitely buying this game.  I have had little expectation of this game, which I think was a good thing.  There were some problems, but none that were game breaking.  I experienced only 3 CTD's in my time playing and 2 were in RvR areas with 50+ people around.  I really like the fact that Mythic was open about the fact that they did break a few things during the most recent update.  The pathing issue was pretty funny actually, made for some interesting pulls.

Always have been a big Warhammer fan - played the tabletop game and absolutely loved the 40K RTS genre. Not like I have much of a choice in the matter, anyway; I put down the full $50USD when I pre-ordered the game - might as well pick it up come release.

I already pre-ordered the CE together with my cousin. I had been in the beta for a month or so, and he came to my house.

And I let him play for a while, and he loved it!

So we jumped on our bike's hurrying to the closest store in the area, and pre-ordered it.

Then we went home with a big smile on our face. =)

I see no good reason to make a final decision without seeing open beta first which hopefully will have the full graphics up and the debugging software off plus the last 2 months of polish added to the game. I voted yes however because unless there are some terrible stability issues that crop up for open beta I plan on buying it.

Yes, PW was available only to pre-orders. I guess he meant "are you happy you pre-ordered?"

And yes, I am. I think the game is very good. Not great, but definetly one of the best I've played in a long while, even in beta.

Well it was possible to get pre-order keys for 1$ on certain site.

I feel like I've played this game a million times before. I'm tired of these non-innovative games.

    I sure do.

Fun game, a few pathing problems and a missing squig here and there, the CTDs weren't so bad, gave me a reason to take a break.

Buying? Yes. But whether or not I keep playing past the first month is going to depend on how much Mythic is planning on supporting this title and how fast they fill the gaps in the character classes. Expecting players to "import" classes from other racial areas to fill roles is presumptious at best. The game is unfinished and it shows.

I'm guessing that EA set a release date and the game must go live. I wish these development companies would spend their operating budgets on developing more of the game instead of marketing for years leading up to a flawed release.

Time will tell whether WAR will be a viable alternative to WoW or whether it will be another EA casualty.

Yes, I will be playing the retail version of WAR.  Admittedly, when I first logged on, the graphics put me off.  I played for about an hour disecting every little thing I could about what I thought was wrong with the game.  Later, I logged in again and pretty soon, the graphics didn't phase me at all.  Then, the global cooldowns on skills started to not be an issue either.  It became an interesting game to play.

Never was I out of stuff to do.  If I didn't feel like questing, I'd take part in a public quest.  If I wanted something more to do, I'd head to an RvR area and have some fun.  My time in the game was greatly enjoyed and time flew because of it.  I foresee myself enjoying WAR for a long time.

If you missed out on the preview weekend, I'm sorry.  It was a great chance to get in and check things out.  I hope to see many playing at release!

I have played DAoC for 6 years, girlfriend plays WoW.  We played this weekend and both decided to buy WAR, we had alot of fun.  We are both keeping our pervious games for the moment, we shall see after the first 30 days.

When I said i had "time", i meant virtual time, i got no RL "time" for you.

Yes.  I will play this game for years to come!  Love it!

For those of you who haven't played, here is my attempt at describing Warhammer Online compared to WOW. Keep in mind I've only played WO for 2 days and only got to level 10.

The biggest change I've noticed is the lack of running quests in WO. In WoW, you spend way too much time running from point A to B - really boring. WO is almost constant action.

Public Quests (PQs) are fun if there are enough players around to complete the quest. They're nice because you don't have to seek out and find a group, nor do you have to worry about people ganking the mobs with the best drops. You just jump in and kill, kill, set the explosive, and kill! When it's all over you're given an award and then either do it again (after 2 min quest reset) or move on. Lots of fun. The best part is that, unlike wow instances, there no searching for group or commitment to stay with a group. You come when you want and leave whenever you want.

Looting in WO is kind of annoying. First, there is no autoloot option like WOW (maybe added later?). Secondly, since there is almost constant action, there never seems to be a good time to loot. Also, the tradeskills allow you to havest corpses. At first I thought I would like it, but I ended up abandoning these skills because I didn't want to waste the time when I could be killing.

The classes in WO are interesting. The ones that I thought I would like I ended up not liking at all (shaman, rune priest, witch hunter) , and the ones that I was ho-hum about I ended up liking. My favorite turned out to be the Ironbreaker (dwarf tank). When attacked, they build up grudge- kindof like a warrior in wow. However, very few skill use up that grudge. Instead, many of the skills just perform better when you have grudge. I noticed that although there is an auto-attack feature, it's pretty much useless since you have such a large action-point pool and it usually generates APs as fast as you use them. So, every 2 seconds (the global cooldown) you use another special attack. It's just a matter of choosing which one.

There's a lot more to say, but this post it long enough. So, to sum up, both my wife and I will be getting this game, but we hope they fix the pathing and add an auto-follow feature.
