the ability to level in 2 weeks to 40 will be fixed:  any leveling exploit will be fixed.

there are 80 rr levels, so If you get to 40, you still have 80 rr levels to get.

Roland:  We’re hoping it will take between 200-250 hours (to make 40).

sounds similar to Conan to 80 or WOW to 60

AION is not about slowleveling sgtfrog, this way you will just setup yourself to be disappointed, both Aion and War have some pretty fantastic aspects, but none of them are related to slowleveling.

    ...

it wont be as fast as WAR,,,

I'm glad you posted this. Now I know that WARs target audience isn't people that like to spend 150 days / played to get to max lvl. It may shock you to realise that 97.5% of the population has a job :)

i have a job. but i dont mid it takign a while to get to the max level...

Just because it's not for you, your big dramatic Im leaving War most isn't really needed. I can see that this just isn't your type of game and free to play asian grinders would be right up your alley. I wish you luck, but honestly, why make a thread? I doubt it will take anyone away from Warhammer. You got excited about a game that is nothing like your favorite game type.

FINE you want it to take awhile to level, well guess what YOU control that. You want to learn your class, fine take EXTRA time from leveling and learn your class. Why do I have to spend more time leveling because it takes you longer to figure out your class. I don't need to learn my class, cause guess what its the same as the last mmo i played. I got an idea why dont they make leveling optional?

Oh, sorry pay to play asian grinders. Much better. I think you might want to read the coment from the devs about expecting 40 to take 250 hours to reach. I think thats a nice pace no? I mean, you do have a job you stated. It should be a good pace for you.

250 hours would have been fine. but AOC said that but then we had people get there is a week. (i did it in just over two weeks)

250 hours is about 2 months for me. so that would have been fine..if true.

lets hope it is. ol see the reviews.

I wish you luck in your next game but really... the learning in a game doesn't stop at max level, you can take the time to master your class at max level in any game.  Tell us how Aion turns out.

Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.

Many things turned me off but the game just felt like a easier version of WOW and I'm bored of WOW and want a game thats more complex, like EVE but without the time training and avatars. The PVE was not good it was too easy and I could solo everything but public quests which all you had to do is kill a few mobs, there was no puzzles or anything. The PVP just felt like WOW's battlegrounds but built into the world which WOW is doing with WotLK and WOW has driveable seige weapons and flying combat which WAR doesn't have. I just felt what is the need to play a game that just isn't as good as has boring classes with crap combat.

I like how people are automatically assuming the OP likes to grind. I couldn't stand the Lineage 2 retail grind, and yet I'm worried about this leveling as well. I expect to reach 40 in about 1 month of casual play (meaning 2-3 hours a day). I saw people hit 20 in less than 3 days during Preview Weekend, and while they may have been playing all day, it really IS easy to get XP in this game. You get it for just about anything you do.

Well, he just said that after 2 years of waiting for the game he finally realized that the game was not for him, as he is mainly looking for some solid pve leveling game.

Compared to all the bashing and trolling we can see on these forums, this looks like a decent post to me.

hmm as some1 that played lineage2 for 4 years i can say

"no i dont want to play another grinder"

but playing a grinder and a game that takes time to explore/ level up your char are 2 different things.

l2 for me is crappy gamedesign now because you can only pvp when you (almost) maxed out your char.

i tought the war guys would be geniouses to itroduce the tiers and give every level their own environment to pvp in.

whats the big deal in spending 2 month in tier1, another 3 in tier 2 and so on if the tiers are themselve challenging and interesting. im still intending to play war but as the op i would have prefered it to build up my chr slowly going from crappy snotnose goblin to abig war hero rather in a year then in a month.

giving players finished chars (almost) after launch takes away story and rpg for me

i wanna play a mmoRPG in the warhammer universe involving the daily perrils of that wartorn land rather than getting handed a finfished toon like in a soccer game to play endless matches

if your bored, visit my blog at:

This would jive with my only criticism over this type of post. It's not like the OP really played it. He (or in some other cases 'she') tried it, didn't care for it and decided not to buy. Posting a dramatic 'leave-taking' note when they haven't in actuality played to the end game in their own style (this is key. Who gives a flying donut hole what 24X7 players do for speed leveling) is one of the most obnoxious things to do. Fine. You aren't really leaving because you never really played. So what. If you played, made the observation that 'while playing 2-3 hours a day I hit level 40 in two weeks', THEN you are making a good observation based on your own experience.

If you do a couple scenarios a day for renown, that sucks half an hour at least off your hypothetical 3 hour a day limit. I know once I hit Tier two, the leveling requirements were in the neighborhood of 90-100K XP (level 16 or so). Quests were giving 2500-3000 XP per not counting kill XP. I see 1-1.5 levels a day (for the casual player) assuming you don't ever PvP/RvR and that the XP values for quest rewards stay at the same ratio they are in T2 (Not having seen T3/T4 I don't know but it has been said in a couple of places that PvE XP slows.)

It is so easy that you can constantly que for a scenario (rvr) the second you log into the game and gain experience while doing it.
The game is so easy that your character's stats are adjusted in scenarios so that you aren't at a disadvantage.
The game is so easy that when you receive a quest, your map highlights the region where you should go to complete said quest.
The game is so easy that, for the most part, gear doesn't matter as much as level.
I like the game because I like rvr but I can definitely see why players would not like the war.

I wouldn't call those points "easy", I'd call them "comfortable". There is a difference between the two you know.

As for the fast leveling part of the argument, I don't see the problem here. WAR, imo, is finally putting some weight behind the "the game begins at endgame" part of the mmos. The stated goal of the developers is to get you as fast as possible to the T4 where the "real" game and  your character's progression truly begin. Most other MMOS funnel players from multiple wide open low level areas into a very few max level ones.  Your options decrease with leveling until you're left with very linear gameplay at max level (raid or die!). WAR is completely the opposite - T4 areas are as big as all other tiers combined and they are much more open in all respects.

Actually WAR is almost a level-less game in disguise. The first 39 levels can be seen as a kind of an extended tutorial. Once you get to 40 you  start the real game with Renown ranks (amongst many many other things) that the devs mentioned it'll take you at least a year to max out.

    /edit

Just to avoid a bit of confusion, the level/tier system is a bit more complicated than that but you get my drift. For example, you get into T4 well before 40 and in T3 the chicken does not apply... This gives a kind of a second dimension to the endgame RVR since T4s can meaningfully participate in T3 area to grab some spillover points. It is a very cool system that got me really impressed. However the point remains the same - a PvP game cannot have as steep a character progression as PvE one. This is the main flaw in WoW's PvP, for example... and this is why WAR wants to get you as fast as possible to max level where characters advance much more slowly and thus the playing field becomes more level and fair.

This is just wrong, why not just take out levels then? Why have them if they mean nothing? I like the progression of my character and I want to enjoy every level of a game. If they don't want me to spend time in their game at every level then I don't see a reason why they don't just put you in game at max level and let everyone run around if that is the game they want. I don't see much of a game there but .. whatever.

Seems like a waste of time to create a world then have everyone rush through it. I would rather see really slow leveling and fun stuff to do at every level or no levels what  so ever. That is right, don't give me some super quick progression that you really don't want me at in the first place.
