At the moment, with only a small and select number of testers involved, it would be far too risky for a tester to release any beta information. Any text, images, or video would breach the NDA. The devs have stated that there are legal repercussions for such a breach - It's more than just losing one's beta slot.
Oh please... like people cared before
I have not registered for the Darkfall beta. If I had, I would most definitely respect the NDA out of principle alone.
The select few beta testers that have been invited are most likely to be chosen from the more long-term followers that would shiver at the prospect of losing the beta slot they have waited so long to get.
Hardware specification is the key criteria at the moment, but cross-sectioned with this is a selection of more than enough long-term followers that suit the hardware requirements.
Your post reeks of ignorance. In the quote above, you gave no logical explanation and nothing substantial.
I will, however, do you the service of deconstructing your argument:
You implied that beta testers in previous games did not care about the NDA. Until you can prove me wrong, I am going to debunk your post by saying that previous games had a wider beta population from the start and therefore less of a deterrant due to increased anonymity. Coupled with this, previous games have not had the long-term following that Darkfall can boast, and thus the beta testers on other projects were less dedicated to the cause.
Darkfall's subdued and clumsy marketing scheme reflects the fact that they are aiming for a precise gaming demographic. Darkfall's community is a case of quality over quantity - They have built up a relatively small and loyal fanbase that is genuinely interested in the success of the game in these early stages.
All things said and done, if I were a beta tester I would be busy testing and experimenting in-game. I dare say, I would be getting a head-start on familiarising myself with the game to give me an edge for when the game goes for a full release.
I think a large portion of the community would like to see if everything is on the up and up with the beta. Im going to dismiss your implied jibes, and simply say that again, a little proof of people actually being in the beta wouldnt hurt anyone. In fact, I believe it would allow those of us on the fence to exhale about it. As it stands all we have to go on is Tasos's word. And frankly that doenst carry much weight with me. I dont want your cute sidestepping replies, your coy one liners, or beat around the bush approach. I simply would like to see a little proof that people are getting invited, I dont want specifics, I simply want a little proof. Im not asking out of malice, or spite, or some need to diss Darkfall simply to goad the fans into yet another frothing frenzy. I simply want to know for curiosity sake. So please, enough with the three ring circus over such a small request. Id just like to know SOMEONE is actually getting to play. Nuff said.
Ok same request same answer, I doubt anyone is going against what they have been asked not to do and warned not to do just to satisfy your curiosity. I mean really Arcken lol, you seem to feel your impatience overides what Aventurine has asked of it's testers and warned them against.
Explain to me why anyone currently in beta should break NDA for the sake of "Those on the fence" when they will get there chance to see the game anyways if they are patient?
I mean sorry to say any information given to you regarding a question you have asked trolling or in earnest you have shrugged off and said your not taking there word for it or his or hers or there's. In the end Arcken it is all just words. My advice is to simply wait and see or give up and move on.

Whatever you tried to say, you used 1000's of more words than needed.
And for lots of reasons I can't state where the beta leaks I find come from, you should know that.
And anyway, saying Darkfall players are more dedicated than beta testers of other games in the past is just... bull...

There are more "underground" beta test leak communities, (no, I'm not talking about the obvious one that most already know about) and word is... well... nothing.. Which would be a first for ANY mmorpg beta test. Even the one community most know about doubts the validity of a true beta, and usually that one site has some scrap of information. People break NDA's on betas all the time, because it it EXTREMELY easy to do so with the anonymity of the internet. There isn't any information because no one is breaking the NDA, but rather because there is no information. I'm not a doom and gloom type person, but if no information, at all, is "leaked" in the next two weeks, I would certainly doubt the validity that any type of playable beta is in fact occurring. It's either that, or their beta test is still in the "double digit" range, which would worry me even more.

We've given good, solid reasons why there has been no leak yet.
Your counter arguments of "that's just bull" don't present any logical reasoning.
There's nothing more anyone can say at this point. Go back to Warhammer or whatever it is you are playing and soon you'll see either some kind of video update or perhaps a leak.
There might be one final reason why no leaks have appeared yet:
The game is so damn good that people are busy playing it instead of leaking it. I know that for me, I would be too busy playing to care about leaking or even looking at the forums. Many long-term followers (Forumfall addicts) have disappeared overnight from the Darkfall forums which is a strong suggestion that they are off doing something more interesting, IE beta.

Every MMO that has undergone a Beta has had a leak of some sort, whether good or bad. Why should DF be so different?

*sigh* My "counter argument" was not "thats just bull". What is just bull is that you are thinking the DF community beta testers are any different and BETTER than other games beta testing communities from the past. THAT is bull.
Go on with whatever you want about what weird assumptions why nobody leaks anything but in the end you have no clue why nobody has not leaked yet.
And come on... saying "game might be TOO GOOD" that nobody leaks is just stretching the pie even further to breaking point!

Theres not a MMO out there that didnt have some a leak during beta. I find it hard to swallow that Darkfall somehow is the first in existance where players are so "mesmerized' that they cant do so. If the game has a grip that tight, I imagine theyre hooked up to IV bags so they wont suffer from not being able to eat while beta testing.
More than likely theyve just got very few select friends and family playing, and its not really an open beta persay.
It's not currently possible to make the Darkfall with Realm Crafter, since the source code hasn't been released and RC would require major modifications to include the Darkfall features.
However, RC will be releasing a C++ version with source code, so in the future talented programmers could add features to the Engine.
Of course lots of us would like to be able to purchase the Hero Engine for a few hundred bucks, but that's not going to happen any time soon.

This is my guess as to why theyve done things so poorly thus far. They simply dont have the experience to do things properly. It would explain why its taken them 8 years so far.

Sorry to burst you're fanboy bubble but in order to make a AAA commercial grade MMORPG you NEED TO HAVE A PROFESSIONAL SEASONED TEAM.
There's no exceptions. Coding a MMORPG is one of the most complex things you can do. It's basically like creating an operating system.
Of course there's shortcuts like licensing hero engine or big world... but Aventurine did not do that.
They have yet to prove that their proprietary technology even functions properly.
