R34LL'/! I |-|4D ||0 1D34! Dude, I'm talking about his cabinet choices thus far, and what he has firmly stated will be his first moves in office.
If you know hes obviously not president yet, and all he is doing is filling chairs.. What sort of "actions" do you expect him to have done up to this point? Step all over GW's shoes and "pretend" to be president? Ya, im sure that will warrant a respectable comment from people like you.
just curious, you're the one who made the comment that " So far though he has done nothing except begin what looks like another hohum Clinton administration". What should he be doing at this point? Reconstructing a Bush presidency?
Heck no, I'm just looking for something, anything that indicates he actually will bring some of the administrative changes he promised, and am not finding it.
Maybe you should wait until he actually becomes President?
So everyone should be silent until he takes office? No one should pay attention to his appointments or his behavior until then? Why?
He can't change jack shit until he becomes President.
Do you want him to kick out George W. Bush from the Whitehouse as we speak?
You people tries to blame Barack Obama for the recession and he isn't even President yet.
What are you talking about? And how is it relevant to what I said? Nothing you mentioned justifies NOT paying attention to what Obama does during the transition period.
These actions may be indicative of what we can find in the future, because the cabinet, or other people Presidents have called to serve intheir early days often give a decent indicatioon of what they wil do in the futyre, because Presidents often pick people THEY feel that can either implement policy; or, be so inclined to the President's liking taht these appointed peole will have near total power over a given area (like HUD for expample).
In other words, it's all worth paying attention to discussing what it might mean, and sharing knowledge about the careers of these people and stuff like that.

Why are you even talking about Barack Obama in a thread thats about Sarah Palin?
Why not? It stands to reason that if we are talking about one person on the ticket in the past election that lost, we just MIGHT discuss at least tangentially the one who won, and what he is doing, and how it might effect the future, one element of that future being sarah palin, which is the subject of this thread.
And you keep believing she's actually achieved something in national politics, besides poll numbers disgraceful to McCain's ticket and a resulting loss.
And you keep bringing up Democrats. Be it congress or the presidency, it's rival Republicans she has to worry about first during primaries.
Palin didn't even survive Katie Couric and Tina Fey during her 10-week stint as vice-presidential nominee. Woe for her when its time for 12+ months of right-wing brutality if she decides to run for president in 2012. She'd be smart to take up the offer for show business. If she doesn't, by all means, I'd rather see Obama run against her in 2012 rather than a competent Republicans.
It's a deal then. I'll keep touting her if you continue to underestimate her. Agreed?
That's a four-year commitment, pal. No thanks.
If you feel like betting though, I'll bet that you will have forgotten about her in ten-weeks time, the same amount of time it took for you to get to know her.
Okay, I'll call.
Can I place a side bet against you on that? Any amount of money says he still remembers her in twenty weeks time. YOU name the price and the currency. Send a PM of you have the guts to make an actual wager on this.
You'd remember the money more than you'd remember Palin.

He'd never actually take that bet, Fisher. I'm sure he knows that Palin is not going to forgotten any time soon, particularly by me. If she were a flash in the pan, she would have been dropped by the media and ignored by all the people that now want to get their hands on her (figuratively speaking) as soon as the election ended. I mean the most of the mainstream media don't even like her, but they still have to cover her because she's too big.
Just so you know, Sepher, she's made an indelible impression on me, so there's no way I'll be forgetting her any time soon. Right now, there's only one person I can think of who I might support in a race against Palin, and that is Bobby Jindal. If he decides to run for President in 2012, I'll be taking a long hard look at both of them.

Zin may remember her in 2012 but I would wager that the rest of the voting population will have as much memory of Sarah Palin as the 2004 runner-up on American Idol.

Biden is VP and we have already forgotten about him. When Hillery becomes SoS, Biden will have no job. Palin/Jindal or Jindal/Palin would be hard for the dems to have anyone to compete. I would like to see some of the prior military up and comers start moving up the ladder too.

I guarantee you won't be rantin' about Palin in 10 or 20 weeks however. Just praisin' our new president, Obama.

Well, I'm not ranting now, so I don't know what you are talking about. As far as the rest, I am still wondering why you are simply making nonsense up.
Obviously you are still chickening out on the bet.

That or I don't take you anywhere near as serious as you take yourself. If I bet you a thousand bucks, not like you could cast a spell to collect it, buddy.
And if you believe it's non-sense for me to believe that Sarah Palin will fall back into the obscurity she was in before the convention, then by all means believe that.
I guarantee if I didn't read these boards, I'd already have forgotten about her. She is a non-factor in my life afterall. Quite certainly could have been, but coulda, shoulda, wouldas. You can't say the same about President-elect Barack Obama. He's definitely someone you can't prevent from being in your life the next four years.
Everyone who's anyone wants a piece of her. Late night TV offers, daytime talk show offers and book deal offers. There are some issues about whether all this attention will interfere with her governing duties, but she's an instant multi-millionaire if she wants to be. click
This is a great development, because Palin will lead the GOP into a wilderness it will never find its way out of.
Republicans with any intelligence reject her outright.
Disagree. She IS EXACTLY what the Republican party wants in a candidate- pro-life, pro-military, small government, less taxes and reducing welfare and entitlement programs.
If your basing your intelligence comment on Sarah's two bad interviews- do you honestly not know how left wing Couric and Gibson are? They could interview ANY Republican in the country and edit the crap out of the interview to make the person look like they had the aptitude of a kindergartner.
Republicans with any intelligence know she has done a phenomenal job running Alaska. She had a shocking approval rating in the high 80's and low 90's as Governor since she was elected. Well, until McCain chose her as his running mate and she dropped into the high 60's because the Alaska Democrats decided miraculously overnight they didn't approve of her anymore LOL! Compare that to the 9% approval rating Senators have.
And to the OP- I have been researching Bobby Jindal and I like him too! I, also, saw a interview with the Gov. of Texas and that man seemed like the whole package- intelligent, excellent personality and very well spoken. Would love to see either of them run in 2012 or 2016:)

Best thing to happen to politics since Ronald Reagan. I look forward to seeing what she does next.
I think she's a moron. Few knew who she was till McCain picked her and no one cared. She’s proven to the world she was fail in lipstick and she continues to do so. Her 15 min of fame is over, and other than a small select group of middle aged horny guys and stay at home soccer moms she appeals to no one. How is she the best thing since Reagan? What has she done to show us that she is a worthy candidate for anything other than being Governor of Alaska?
Alaska is so far away from the rest of the US that they consider themselves not even a part of the US. I know, I’ve had friends from Alaska. I’ve even been there a few times myself. “Ah, one of the lower 48ers” They really don’t like the rest of the US or care what's going on down here, well most don’t.
I hope she never shows her face in the lower 48 again other than for her stupid Governor conventions. It would seem the Republican Party agrees since they have not picked her as their party leader, and they won’t.

She is a clear, intelligent, well spoken Barry Goldwater conservative. She has done as much or more than Obama has done, or Bill Clinto had done when he ran for office.
The fact that she sparks that Reagan hate/fear reaction on the left is more than enough reason to love her. They can smell a real threat. She will show her face, and actually HAS been showing her face. watch and learn.
It sounds great, so great in fact, I pitty those who canceled - Some deluded SWG fanboi who pities me. I don't like it when you say things. - A Vanguard fan who does too. 09f911029d74e35bd84156c5635688c0
Sarah Palin is utterly inept. I really hope she keeps running for office, because that's a guaranteed W for the Dems.
So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. But I pressed on, and as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me. I don't know if it was divine intervention or the kinship of all living things, but I tell you, Jerry, at that moment ... I was a marine biologist.

I also find it funny how Fisher has linked to this thread on another site he visits, playing the victim because "all these lefties are attacking me." Poor, poor thing.

It's a deal then. I'll keep touting her if you continue to underestimate her. Agreed?

You'd remember the money more than you'd remember Palin.
Sorry that's just plain false. I take it however that you wouldn't make a bet on any of this, which was my point.
It's easy to remember money, so I have no doubt you'd remember the bet.

Would love to see either of them run in 2012 or 2016:)

i got one thing to say.....

that is all.....
How so? Do you know what the term actually means? If so, how does it apply here?

I gotz a 300,000 BTU WTFBBQ!
, but
Frankly I wasn't all that impressed with Sarah Palin, and would've prefered Gov. Jindal as Sen. McCain's running mate.

Oh, cruel fate, to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones. It bones for thee.

I like him better as well, but at the time he was busy in Louisiana -- plus he knew things would not go well with a RINO like McCain.
Another smart young Republican with a bright future.

Same here and I’m not Republican. I think it was JEdi mind tricks that made him pick Palin.

No, word is that it was because Jindal said no.

And we have a winner.

I also find it funny how Fisher has linked to this thread on another site he visits, playing the victim because "all these lefties are attacking me." Poor, poor thing.
