I am going to play a Human Warlock for sure. i had so much fun and felt so powerful. during the first stress test i played a night elf druid, and i felt the class was so lacking
Highest probability is Tauren Hunter. Maybe because I start him first and played it to level 14, my highest level. At the close of OB he had level 100 skinning, 75 Leatherworking, 50 First Aid, and 40 Fishing. I felt like a true hunter. The most self-reliant character I have ever made. Beyond having great ranged skills, he was good at melee combat. He had a level 11 Pet Flatland Cougar named Tony (Think Cereal), which was an added bonus. I also liked the open plains feeling of the Tauren starting Area.
Second highest probability is the Orc Warlock. Even though I only got him to level 5, I really like the spell set along with the rough nature of the Orc. Some of the starting quest for the Orcs is kinda fun as well. I will not spoil it for you though. Imps make amusing pets. Shame you cannot name them though.
Third Highest is NE Druid. I found them to be a very versatile character type. Early AC buffs along with both ranged and heal spells. I wish I could have found the skinning and leatherworking trainer, which I think would truly compliment this race and class. Some early quest variations where nice as well. However the starting area was over populated and therefore I would prefer not to start until the game has been out awhile longer.
I found undead starting area to be over populated, so I may make a priest at some point. I could not stop laughing at the Gnomes, even when I made a Dwarf. So I probably will not make one. The Dwarf Warrior was fun, but I favored the others mentioned above better. I tried a Human Pally and found it like the Dwarf. Fun, but lacking ranged attacks was annoying.
My main will be a dwarf for sure. I've not decided which class though - hunter is on top of the list with warrior and rogue being close. The hunter would aim to get polearms (though I just saw it's coming at level 40 and heard dwarves don't get to use polearms ar all?! Hope not!) and use the gun. The warrior would be 1hand sword and shield, later grabbing gun as well. The rogue would be dagger (or sword if possible) and crossbow of course, a nice light one!
As an alt or second char I'd probably go Horde and take a Tauren Druid. Druids seem to be very versatile with combat and healing magic as well as shapeshifting ability which gains them the abilities of warriors and rogues. Truly impressive. Spear would be a nice weapon I think.
Another option would be mage. I loved my little gnome mage in beta though I'd prefer a dwarven mage of course. Too bad they took that one out. Darn. Anway, Mage is nice with the tool spells, really nice.
Maybe an alternative to the dwarven mage would be a dwarven shadow priest... have to investigate that further!
On a second thought... dwarven paladin could be nice too... if that one can go 1hand sword and shield too. No guns though, well, no range weapons at all which kinda sucks then.
Priest gets better as you go. They only have cloth armor, so they aren't the healer/combat hybrids that Clerics are in some games, but they get some powerful combination of spells as they progress.
However, my primary character in retail will be a Night Elf Druid.
Druid is a great class for someone who get's bored with doing the same thing all the time. They start out with heals, buffs and nukes, not much different than priest early on, but they can wear leather armor. In the early levels, they can melee sufficiently well that if you weaken a foe with a couple nukes, you can finish them off with meleee and decrease your downtime replenishi8ng your mana bar.
At level 10, the class gains it's first shape shifting ability, the Bear. Bear form increases the armor contribution of your armor by a good percent, basically it's almost like you are now wearing chain instead of leather. It also boosts your attack power by a good percent. In Bear form, instead of mana, you have rage, like a warrior, and some basic skills akin to the earlier level warrior skills.
Some druids prefer to continue to focus on a caster build and rarely shapeshift. They are just as viable as those who do focus on shapeshifting and it's nice to be able to mix up your approach to defeating mobs based on your mood and to prevent boredom
In bear form, a druid can effectively sub as a tank if no warrior class is available and can always quickly change back to humanoid form to save someone else or themselves with a heal.
At level 16, you can do a time consuming quest for Aquatic Form. It travels 50% faster and water and has unlimited breath, but it has no armor or combat boosts, so it's more useful for getting you close to deep water targets, waiting for a good opportunity to shape shift into another form and attack. If your breath runs low, back to aquatic form, the added speed also makes it easier to flee bad encounters underwater
At level 20, the druid get's Cat form. Cat form works basically like an earlier level Rogue. You get stealth, the rouge power bar and rogue like finishing moves and backstab like attacks. Armor is not boosted, but attack rating is. This form has many good situational uses and also adds more versatility, once again decreasing the odds you will get bored doing the same thing all the time.
In it's non-shapeshifter form, druid has an armor advantage over Priest, with very similar abilities early on, but Priest later on will outstrip Druid as a pure caster to some degree. The shapeshifter forms are not going to make you as effective in the warrior or rogue roles as a member of those classes at higher levels, but they do give you a lot of versatility for dealing with difficult encounters.
Final reason, I just find them fun
Night Elves and Tauren are the only races that have Druid. I know the Tauren shapeshifting forms look different than the NE versions, but I'm not sure if there are any stat differences. An important note is that to get your shapeshifting forms, you have to do quests. When you reach level 10, you will recieve a spell that can quickly teleport you to Moonglade, a druid region for testing Druids. It is shared by Night Elves and Taurens "living in harmony".
The problem is that despite the warning given to you when you arrive that the guards will not tolerate violence, as of the end of OB, if you are on a PvP server, Tauren and Night Elve Druids will sometimes attack each other in this zone, with out action from the guards. This may change in retail and the guards may react, or they may just make the zone non PvP, however as it currently stands, it can be very frustrating trying to complete your visits to Moonglade on a PvP server.
Well the reasons I would rather wait to play my priest is because I found them to be bested at everything by another class (Even healing at sub-30 levels), and their healing generates soo much threat you almost always have to follow up with fade, assuming you have mana left for it...
Nightelf/Rouge they are awesome i can kill most ppl within 8 lvls of me if i get the jump on them except warriors they bash my skull in but if there not attackin me i rip them to shreds
EDIT: except shammys those guys are like unkillable i swear me and my other rouge freind couldnt take 1 of them and i even sapped him in the start so we coulld get rdy i swear man.
2ND EDIT: also my other character will be a Gnome/warrior man i had my doubts but after playin one what can i say i luv that lil guy LMAO
Five Ninjas are like a bundle of twigs. Together they are hard to break, but separated they are easily snapped.
I Played an Undead Warlock to 24 (awesome class, very good PvP as long as you stay cool and have someone watching your back) thoroughly enjoyed the class at that level, undead areas are awesome and the UC was very well done, bat ride is probablt the best of all races transports.
Undead Rogue to 21, excellent in PvP, the Rogue can wipe out the enemy spellcasters at the back of the group real fast, I went on several raids as both characters but the rogue is an awesome class.
Highlights of the OB,
1. Watching two alliance players duel on the front line of a PvP battle because they outnumbered the Horde attackers about 4 to 1 and thought they could be cocky, no suprise when the winner got 'charged' by two warriors and I backstabbed the loser, everyone else ran..... very funny.
2. Killing Arugal just as the server crashed, when it came back up we were all at the start of the instance..... hilarious.
3. Just getting in, this is one of the best online games I have ever played, really looking forward to retail.
I am going for Dwarf Palladin. I realy liked the play style, becuase you can be great at solo and teaming. I also liked the Resurection Spell quest, where you actualy had to do somthing to get the special class spell. I choose dwarf, becuase i always liked dwarfs, and i think they have the best starting area, next to Orc/troll(yeah i played at all newbie areas) I was a little dissapointed, becuase, many ppl where so consentrated on doing the quest, that if i asked them to team, thy just ran off(WERY RUDE!) Other that ppl where nice. I also liked they play "style" in general. You are relaxed here, if you are 5 min late for a team, or do a quest on they way, ppl and myself, think it is ok. And not like saying "DUDE! Where are you??? I i been looking for you for 2 min, get your ass over here!". Almost every time I did a trade I'd started a conversation, then traded, what many games don't have since they all are so stressed. I played Anarchy Online, it is STRESS FACTOR!
Sorry if i got alitle more than just why I choose this class. Well Enjoy! Hopefully I see you all in retail
Yeah deal with it, or else --------------------------------------------------- Cheers! I'm out ---------------------------------------------

Night Elf Druid. IMHO its all classes rolled into one. I love playing a healer, its got that. I love being able to solo, its got that. I love being a tank in a small group, its got that. I love being the guy that does a lot of damage, its got that.
You dont get all that till about level 20. But its so worth it. I wasnt sure about playing this class in release, but once I hit 20, I was sold.
Anoyendie, NE war (17) of the Stress Test guild; ST1. Elderwand, UD WL (16) of the Yeben Rellik guild; ST2. Thunbarador, Orc war (17) of the Yeben Rellik guild; OB.
Cause they can sneak good hide good and its so embaracing to get kiled by one, Especially when you are a massive tauren or a muscle bound ork.
I played a Tauren warrior and realized They are slow, They look cool if you can find some cool armor because a warrior is nothing without his weapon and armor, and that they dont dance very good
I also played as a Dwarf hunter and its cool to walk through the wintery forest and shoot down baers and wolves with my trusty polar bear at my side..i just keep forgeting on taking care of my pet..i think he dont like me anymore another thing i like about the dwarf race is that they are all ALCOHOLICS!!!!
Going back to my Gnome rouge....Getting backstabbed by a little gnome and stabbed back and forth and not knowing what to do makes most other players look silly. So when retail comes out and you get suprise attacked by a gnome, think of me
Hi all Troll Rouge and/or Tauren Shaman havent decided on the best Horde race/class combo to rape pillage and burn down the Alliance! Any preferenmces out there by OBers? Could use a leg up before I buy. Ill prolly try an undead warlock as well, they looko like the rape/pillage and burn type
Undead Warrior. And if I want then, maybe an Orc Shaman too. But I think I only will be playing as the Undead Warrior.
Why? Well, I think they are cool. I first wanted to be an Orc Shaman, but after the Beta. I have changed my mind. Undeads are cool, and I like the place they start at.

Now remember to always put off till tomorrow what you can do today... Oh wait a minute that didn't come out right!
