incredibly boring

lampolampo Member UncommonPosts: 33

I'm not one to rant...much...but I feel the need to.  Didn't even know about this game until I had an OB key, played that, thought I found my fix and pre-ordered.  Made a templar at launch...leveled him to 26...soon found out that the only "respectable"..."tanks" are templars...gay....I don't want to tank all the time, and besides that I'm bored to tears in the abyss and anything past lvl 25.  PvP is anything but entertaining in this game.  Make a chanter...love the class...good solo....lvl 26....in the abyss....bored to tears.  Nice graphics, lame instances, the gameplay and content is weak.  I thought this super grindfest was an answer to my EQ2 woes, dead wrong.  Oh and crafting is pretty mediocre too, the inability to have control over greater output is just not needed.  Spent 500K+ trying to make blue armor only to get not one piece....lame.  Another 50$ 30 day trial...err 37 here....wont need it though. FIN.

Starting to feel the same, logging in. logging out 10 minutes later.. I think this genre of game at least for me is coming to a close.. At least until i get sucked in the next time :P

I'm a level 26 sorc and yeah, I'm at the same path of thought you are.  I just stopped playing.

  • lampolampo Member UncommonPosts: 33

Yeah same for me.  I dont let myself log into this for a day or two so I can try to get back into it, but its just not there, this game has no substance.  It's also loaded with flaky people, and ex-wow players who make it even less enjoyable.  Groups are pathetic, people roll for loot they dont need, bad atmosphere overall.

I feel ya.  I do like Aion, but it just feels like it is missing that something other games have.  I have been blowing through MMOs trying to find my fix lately.

WoW (again >.>) took a lock to 65 before the thought "why am I playing this game again!?" hit me and I canceled my sub.

Guild Wars.... logged back into my old account, did some PvP, opened a crap ton of mini pet gifts..... sold most of em for a metric ****ton of plat.  Got bored of farming / selling.

Aion.... ugh, played CN servers to 30 or so on a few toons, played a glad to 24 or so during CB.  Official launch I have gotten a Cleric to 13 and already dread playing any more.  I will probably play again sometime, but I just think I am going to wait several months until there is more content in the game.... oh, and all the WoW players go back to WoW.

So yeah, I guess I will just head back to EQ2 until FFXIV comes out.  FFXIV looks like its going to be my last hope considering FFXI consumed 5+ years of my life... and boy were those 5+ years in FFXI a blast.

Hmm yeah I'm also getting bored of aion, to much the same thing, do this skill for that, kill x amount of these, blah blah blah, even though the lvl max was only 20 in guild wars, i liked it so much more then this, prolly gonna cancel my sub soon

Seems like it wasn't just me, level 25 ranger played through beta and headstart, but this past week would be me last. Like others said the game is decent but it just isn't worth my time.

  • lampolampo Member UncommonPosts: 33

I was certain I would not be alone on this.  I have been asking myself for a week why i keep logging in.  It's too bad really, I was planning on making this my one mmo.  I played EQ2 from launch all the way until mid 2007, but decided I couldn't keep up with the expansions, and RL.  Played AoC for a week....WAR for two weeks....and now i'm just completely disappointed.

Sadly, I have to agree.  I got so bored with my 27 Chanter that I rerolled a Cleric and made it to 20.  Now I'm playing a Templar and will hit 26 in the next couple of days.

I see no reason to invest more time in this game.  I was in CB, OB and was a huge supporter of the game, but the awful truth is it is BORING starting in the high 20's.

I'll play out my time, but have already canceled.

    Next, please.

yeah i hear ya on the wowtards ruining groups and rolling on everything,my hope is their add kicks in soon and they quit. but i'm having fun in the game but i been mainly sticking with guildies for runs. the one time i didn't i got out rolled on a spear on my alt Glad (the only class in game that can even use spears)by a cleric and plate pants by a sorc. as for instances at 26 i think there is only 1 you can do wich is a mock artifact battle or something, i didn't get to do it i out leveled it, didn't know there was a lvl 28 cap >.<. did the 3 keys quest on my sm last night, was pretty tough, and very unforgiving. one little mistake wiped us two different times. tho we had pugged the healer and he was just awful.

haven't tried fire temple yet, but i am hoping the boss has some sort of tactic to him. while the keys part was rough but it was more a tank and spank just easy to get adds or  and the mobs hit like a truck. you had to glide down and people was over shooting and getting adds, one time i went in there some idiot flew out the window and died (nothing to land on under it)..lol i was off tanking with my earth pet on multi pulls wich did make it more fun for me, trying to keep agro on the pet and keeping him alive with my heal.healer did figure out he could heal my pet but healing agro in Aion reminds me of eqoa its like a damn taunt and him healing multiple targets was just giving him crazy hate and he'd pull mobs off the tank and pet. so was just easier if i healed it.

I also have to agree.  Just hit 32 with my ranger and I'm done.  The game has just gotten so boring.  Quests are so few and far between and the dungeons are monotonous and lack creativity.  Just picked up Fallen Earth and it seems to be a nice refresher after Aion.

I'm amazed the fanboys havn't come out to flame you guys yet.

It blows my mind how Asians consider this kind of game super fun.

i called it that this game was bad :D

I was in the same boat last week.  I got to 33 and couldn't bare it anymore.   I tried to make another character to see if it was just a class thing but I couldn't even make it to 25 on him before I wanted to claw my eyes out, I can only take so much pve, that's just how I'm programmed.  It would really help if they had a lower tier of the Abyss, or use Rifts from level 10 and beyond.

It's a pretty game though with cool animations, sadly it's just kind of boring.  I hate giving up on an mmorpg before I hit level cap but I do believe I'm going to have to swollow my pride on this one and just walk away.  I paid $50 to find out I didn't like a game, this seems to be a trend lately, lesson learned.  I have to beat it into my head from now on that I can not pay for a game unless I absolutely know that I'm going to be happy with it, and not just go in blindly because of fanboy hype and marketing making the game sound better than it is.

I got it on release. Played for 2 days. Stopped playing and uninstalled a few days later.  Surprised to say of all the MMO's I have played, this one had the shortest life span for me.

hopefully this game hits the bargain bin soon, lol

True but no matter how many negative opinions I hear on games on this forum, It's not going to stop me from trying them out myself. Just the way I am.

How you guys did not see this coming I will never understand ^^
All the signs (level-headed beta reports, game footage, etc) indicated that Aion is, underneath, a very unimaginative piece of software. But then again, we as gamers pay 50 bucks for a single player game that we can beat in 15h, so I wouldn't say that buying Aion would be a waste of money. But it doesn't sound like it has a great deal of long-lasting appeal.

If all they are going to do is make more boring garbage games like Aion, I'd rather just wipe my ass with that cash and flush it.  At least I know what the outcome will be.

Why bash people for feeling bored? Whether the attention span was 3 weeks or 3 years, it's a personal thing. Noone can dispute it and noone can judge it. Well, apart from the really blinded people.

For the record, I'm still having fun. I do respect other people's experiences though, good or bad.

    I find Aion boring myself.

But untill someone can find me a game which is less boring I'll stick with Aion.  At least untill wow expansion come out.
