I wanted to like this game.. but I just can't do it.
I've wasted 5 months worth of sub fees so far, on top of the 50 I paid for the game.
Its not UO, and it will never be.
I've tried 8 different clans, and the same thing always happens. I get ignored. "welcome to the clan" and thats pretty much the last I hear. If I try to ask questions, noone responds. If I try to ask questions in the global chat.. they are usually spamming and trash talking each other so noone that might be able to answer actually sees my question.
I spent 30 minutes looking for the tailoring station, and after asking twice and getting no response I logged out.
Everytime I log on, the graphics perform differently.. for some reason.. which is annoying.
I hate to say it, but maybe I need to be playing a themepark game. I just don't have the patience for this stuff. I want to have fun, and make friends.. but seems everyone has already formed their "cliqs" and they aren't accepting new members.

You played for 5 months and had no fun at all? I would hardly call it a waste if you played that long. You had to have enjoyed it at times or you are just a glutton for punishment.
As far as the guilds you probably joined large clans. I have spent most of my time in DF in a 5-10 person clan and everyone is pretty friendly. It sounds like you are a clan hopper. I don't know maybe the problem is you and not everyone else or maybe it's something else.
I don't see how you go to a game like WoW because you don't want to play alone. WoW 99% of the time you will be nothing more than a class to everyone else and you will be soloing. Anyway good luck...
FFXIV won't be too long now.
I would suggest trying to join a clan with a Team Speak or Vent server. I know in other games that I rarely watch the guild chat; I only dealt with people in TS.
im still playing it here and then but gotta admit that its just shoot´em´up action adventure, nothing else.

Comments above. It sounds like you need a lot of hand holding, but that's just the impression I get;

You're kidding right? This is what you get from Darkfall? Really?
Currently playing SWTOR and it's MUCH better than it was at launch.
Just out of curiosity, which clans have you been involved with?
If you wouldn't mind trying to list any that you can remember the names of it would be appreciated.
If you are looking or UO then go play UO. Everyone know you can (but speaking where is against rules). So go play UO. I got a lot of help from race alliance/race and trade channels. You must be playing different game.
btw.
You played for 5 months and you don't know there is no such thing as tailoring station? It's called workbench and if you were looking for it for 30 mins then you must be blind or something.
Not every game will be for every person, but if you played for 5 months then there must of been something that kept you logging in all that time.
To me it sounds like you do like the game, but are merely frustrated with the community you have come into contact with. Your biggest gripes have nothing to do with the game, but simply no good clans and no one in chat helping.
Finding a good clan is a 2 way street. You need to fit in with them and they need to accept you as well. Finding a clan that does both of these things can often be difficult in any mmo you will play just because of the diversity of people who play mmo's. As for the chat help, thats just sadly something that seems to happen in every damn game. I think every mmo ive played, Ive been told to reroll, go die, go screw an animal of some sort, jump off a cliff etc etc when I have asked a question. I pretty much just google any questions I have now...

Try joining a clan that accepts newer players rather then one full of leet players who think their better then everyone else. I tried two other clans before the one I'm in now and I'm 100% happy. The first two were a bust (i knew within 2hours of getting on vent) but my third pick was the charm. The folks in the clan are great, plenty of pvp to be had, and best of all they don't take the game to seriously...
Good luck where ever you end up bud!!

no,thats not what i "get" from darkfall
that is what it can offer

I don't think you do have the patience for this game, and there is nothing wrong with that. If you played for 5 months, you certainly gave it a good go. I'm sorry you had such a crappy time though, and good luck in your mmo searches

K dude this is the third post you have made this month about quitting/not enjoying the game
Its obviously not for you although for some unknown reason you still played for 5 months, go play dawntide of Wurm or something that makes you happy
Every week you have another thread about quitting, then next week another thread about quiting, IDK im expecting something more for the 02-15-10 writeup
no,thats not what i "get" from darkfall

No. This is what you get because me and many other people are getting many more things (exploring, crafting, PvE, politics). But it's sandbox and that's why you get only shhot'em'up action if you only wanted it.
Mmmm. Weird I can't say the same, perhaps I have been playing a different game this two months but I found nice and helpful people since day one. I still remember a guy took me to the bank and gave me my first clothes and weapons and such. Every time I ask something at the channels where are people taking a find someone who responds to me and even two or three are willing to answer. I have been in 4 clans and in all of them I found people who were willing to help me, even some of those who ganked me were willing to reveal how they took me down, so I can't agree with you.
Is this the Darkfall forum, is not it?
Show me a shooter where I can loot my enemies corpse.
Show me a shooter where I can grab five buddies, hop on a boat and take a trip around the ocean, with the added possibility of a random encounter with deadly Sea Creatures or a Kraken.
Show me a shooter where I can lay siege to my enemies city, completely take over it, and not have it reset due to some mechanic that was implemented to keep the game "fair" to everyone playing
Show me a shooter where I can spend hours upon hours exploring a lush, vibrant world.
Show me a shooter where I can be entirely self-sufficient and craft every single thing I could possibly need.
Show me a shooter where ingame politics determine a large percentage of how successful your clan/alliance will or will not be.
Show me a shooter where I have to be cautious even at the starting area, because I might be robbed blind by a would-be assailant.
Show me a shooter where I have to worry about dismounting, because someone might roll up and steal my mount.
I could go on for hours like this....
Yes, it most certainly is about "what you get" from Darkfall, and you don't seem to have given the game much of a chance at all. To claim it is nothing more than a "shoot´em´up action adventure" game is absolutely ridiculous and in no way a clear picture of what the game has to offer.
thing is, you gotta be impossible to ignore. When you hear that a city is under attack, GO THERE and help defend....shed blood with them.
When you head out to hit a mob camp, ask in clan and clan alliance if anyone wants to join you.
Make yourself known....
..in other words....PARTICIPATE.
In order to "click" with people and get involved with what they're doing, you have to be out going. You can't just come into the clan and randomly ask questions here and there. You need to go out of your way to get involved. Otherwise you're just the new kid in class that no one cares about.
It sucks, but its the truth. In big clans you need to do this, not so much in smaller clans but sometimes.
Join one with Vent or TS. Voice > Text, you will always get heard and responded to.

The "tailoring station" is the common 'workbench' ..what clans are those that don't pass such basic info..wouldn' happen in a good clan..

In the cities look for the blacksmith and the merchant. The workbench and the other crafting stations are usually close by.
in REAL RolePlaying games you just dont know where those places are in the first place
so this must be a miracle :>

All due respect, but your examples are vague and way off the mark.
I didn't ask you for games that could provide similar experiences to what I described, I asked you to show me concrete proof of a shooter that allows the player to do all those things within a single game.
You're just grasping at straws in order to try and save face, and it shows.
EDIT: After checking your posting history and seeing that nearly every post you've ever made has been sarcastic or negative in tone, I won't be responding to you from this point forward. It is obvious you are just trolling so that you can get a rise out of others and call attention to yourself.

Yeah, I went by those multiple times. Apparently I don't know what its supposed to look like. I kept looking for some sort of structure that looked like it would be used for sewing. Still I just don't get why someone in game couldn't have answered. Instead I was drowned out by people talking about urinating in gaping bung holes.. talk about a wonderful community.
Pretty much these 5 months have consisted of me logging in..
Killing a few goblins, banking.. and logging out.
I've done a bit of minor exploring, but not too much. I haven't pvped at all, other than the occasional red that would gank me. So I figured today I'd try to do some crafting, because I saw someone mention that leveling tailoring to be able to make some armor would be a good thing to do.
I normally avoid vent, unless its for something where I need to strategize with other players. I don't want to listen to people talk about their day at work, while I'm trying to be immersed into the world. Just kills the whole experience for me.
I keep hoping that I'd join a clan, and they'd go.. "Hey, welcome to Darkfall.. need any help or have any questions?".

These whine posts about nothing to do are so frustrating. Go out and look for something to do, don't expect your clanmates to throw shit in your lap whenever they telepathically hear that you are down for some excitement. Organize it yourself, if you've played for 5 months and haven't done anything but kill goblins, you should probably just quit.
