Correct me if I'm wrong but killing vets is pretty much the endgame in Darkfall, right?  What other MMORPG let's you play endgame at day 3?

    You are wrong.

There is no endgame in Darkfall. It's a sandbox game, so world-domination is the only "endgame" i can think of.

It is way overemphasized because the people who are telling you that there is twitch skills required think it's cool to play a twitch-based game. Just like any other game its part of the basic controls and it doesn't take long to get down. There is a "cap" on the "twitch skills" that you reach quite quickly. If that fps gamer Fatal1ty started playing darkfall he would still get raped because it is a skill-based game not "twitch" based.

Yes its quite easy to spot these people just by the nature of their posts. I'm quite surprised that there aren't more of them but I suppose with a low-population game like Darkfall there wouldn't be too many. You can add Cecropia to that list.

Right, but killing vets is part of world-domination.  My point is what other MMORPG allows you to get to it's version of endgame sooner than a month or two?

I guess when people see sandbox they think it's like Second Life or something where you can do everything in the game right off the bat.  Darkfall is definitely an MMORPG, and a major part of all MMORPGs is the idea of "leveling up".  Personally I think the grind in Darkfall is not much worse than most other decent MMORPGs.

Maybe people wouldn't be as confused if the vet coming up to them was labeled as level 100 when they were level 3, because that's basically what the vet is, just without the label.  Maybe then they would expect to be owned and not flip out about it.

Not many can tolerate the constant trolling here. They stick to Forumfall, if they bother with forums at all.

MMORPG.com forums are generally considered a troll-infested joke, as far as I can tell from the discussions and comments I've picked up. Thanks for helping.

The whole trolling argument really doesn't work, even being the most basic, default, last-defense argument available. The term "troll" is relative because you call anyone a troll who happens to have a different viewpoint than you do. If you look at the definition of a troll and then think about what you are to someone of my viewpoint you will see you fall right into the definition as well, but you will also notice that I don't constantly refer to you or anyone else on the list of people above as "trolls." The troll argument is reserved specifically for people who can no longer defend their viewpoint.

Hah, I would call you a troll.

You keep spreading false info on how DF are. You live down on your safe Cairn island, and can happily do your PVE in peace. Hardly anyone travels to Cairn. When you feel the need to get some pvp, you just bindkick yourself to one of your other citys. That`s not the normal gameplay for the majority of the new players. You live in the Trammel part of DF, and you can safely get an abundant of money mats and gear. When you feel like you want to pvp you come to the felluca part of DF. I just hope AV remove the ability to bindkick.

The normal low level pvpers have to fight high level players from the first day. They can`t hide in a secure spot like you. And they get pissed when they realize this is how their next six moths are going to be. It`s not about skill and that`s why they quit. That`s why Darkfall is an empty game without politics, large battles, ship combat and regular sieges.

He hasn't spread any false info at all, you simply don't share the same opinion as him. His info is entirely accurate.

Cairn is assaulted numerous times every day by opposing forces, you might want to brush up on your own "facts". It would seem the only one spreading false info here is you.

What is stopping newer players from finding a proper home ingame and then moving to that location?

    Absolutely nothing!

I was clanned up within my first week of playing and always had protection. If there first six months are spent the way you claim, then they have nobody to blame other than themselves because they had every opportunity to clan up and move to some holdings.

New players have every chance to take the initiative and as a result provide themselves with a richer experience. If they choose not to do so then the experience will be much more frustrating, but the responsibility to do so lies solely on that particular player.

Trying to put it all on the game or the playerbase itself is akin to blaming the person in front of you when you rear end them in your vehicle. It really is common sense, you get out what you put in, that is the bottom line.

I don't defend the grind, I say that it only really exist in 3 areas all of which can be changed without chaning the time investment to hit cap or the cost investment to hit "vet" status.

    See this suggestion
