Then it went through a transition, message boards went all wonky and lost my password. It was totally different back then. Was at that time I was very active over at IGN/VN noreso there, than here. Then I decided to check this place out again and after their like 2nd iteration of this website back in late 03 I came back summer of 04 and rejoined. VN just - I dunno...it just became blahzey. I eventually left IGN/VN and came here permanently.

Yeah, I actually understnad what you mean. I have a list I do participate in as far as forums go. But my top three are IGN, MMORPG.com and addictoffiction.com ( addict of fiction is new, but so far an awesome start ) , Great conversations in my opinion. good or bad. either way, some great minds for sure.
I dunno when I first came here. Posting to find out! I've been coming here for years to find out about games and get others thoughts on current ones. I know I first came here right after it started. I've been playing MMOs since UO back when they had Dread Lords and such.
I noticed this week that Girlgeek is no longer registered. That's a bummer. I always enjoyed her posts and sense of humor.
That blows.... Another one of the "good ones" went away.
Looks like I've been here since '06. Came here and posted mostly in the DAoC boards answering questions and what not. I played that game to death and posted in the VN boards before this place. Once DAoC lost it's charm for me I came here lookin for "something else" and became disenchanted with the genre and a bitter, jaded person in the process.
Did she really leave? That is sad, because I liked her post too.

I've been around for a little while.. though I can't remember what brought me here. Probably looking around for new MMOs or something. Whats even stranger is that I actually became active on the forums... and somehow I'm still pretty active. Good to see so many older members still around.
I came here a few months after AO came out. I didn't really understand what an MMO was (my only online gaming experience prior to that was Quake and Diablo II) so I randomly typed in "MMORPG.com" on my web-browser and found this site! Dumb luck! Originally the only reason I created an account was so that I could rate games and participate in the "hype" voting. I didn't post on the forums regularly until recently but I've always been around.
My first MMORPG: Anarchy Online.

2003 I signed up I think the only reason I signed up was to join a contest actually LOL .. Since then I have been using the site for all the resources it has.. I am a Beta testing addict so this site makes it much easier to find and sign up for testing of different games
Late 2009 here. I lurked for awhile before that. Honestly it stemmed from getting burnt out on Warcraft and hating everything else that got released. I played DAoC before WoW and have been looking for a similar PvP style ever since. Too bad its just fail after fail, lol.
Vets eh... Im surprised people will wait for "their perfect game" so long as they does.. dont they have anything better to do (includes reader/writer of this post)
on a more serious note though I kinda like these boards, dont really know why but since their outside of the official forums you wont get banned for writing down your opinion. Then theres the updates on new games, videos, screenshots etc.
I think Il be just fine here, so long as I still have any upcoming mmos that interest me ofc.

My first/only contest won: MMORPG.com gave me a week pass for the EQ II Beta! I ended up buying EQ II and playing it for 4 months.

Believe it was when I first started playing Lineage, ah the good ol' times!
I came here when PS SWG and EVE launched and back then people weren't happy but the moaning wasn't about WoW clones, just how buggy the games are lol.
