Voted GW2 because the Dynamic Events will operate in a type of chain, and generates other stages of the Dynamic Event. It's possible Rifts does as well, but I haven't heard any news of such.

with you on this one the GW2 dynamic event system since it completely replaces quests (with exception of personal story maybe) and the fact that is chains out and branches in multiple directions seems a little less static than Rifts system which is essentialy from what i can tell.

invade the rift ----creatures beaten back ---creatures pour out----creatures destroy stuff and build forts etc
not that that doesnt look inturesting just gw2 from what i know appears to give the facade of a living word better. rift does look to be an inturesting game putting aside the fact that i think GW2's dynamic event system to be a step or two above im still glad multiple games are trying to create more life like worlds.

RIfts are randomly scripted tho. Events in GW2 loop. GW2 events feel more like a public quest than Rift does.

Well..Rifts are randomly scripted because they are much more simpler at how they work than the events in GW2. For GW2 to have such dynamic events unscripted they would require thousands of people working on the game (I read that on massively somewhere, don't remember the exact number.)

um, GW2's events are scripted. Most are Boss fights, or a group of NPC attacks. Some events are the same as standard RPG quest, of go kill x of y. So I dont see where you coming from with your statement.

Except that the entire world is constantly flowing with events that can take twists and turns dependent upon what is happening within itself and other events nearby. Centaurs can take villages and build up defenses, opening up events to retake it, or to interupt the flow of reinforcements and supplies, of you can build up turrets and such to help battle a big enemy that is coming, or defend a fortress to keep it up to snuff for the coming badness. The event system in GW2 is incredibly flexible allowing many things to be done, the "dynamic" rifts only do the same thing over and over again, just a little differently. It's the difference between a home cooked meal and cafeteria food. The cafeteria food is always the same bland repeating system, the homecooked meal can be anything you decide to craft it into.

Iam sorry, but RIFT can do that as well. Also the events in RIFT are in a seamless world. GW2 doesnt have this option

I know GW2 events are scripted. I said it would require immense manpower for GW2 events to be randomly scripted and at the moment they seem more interesting than the Rift's randomly scripted events.
Seamless world has nothing to do with impact, the events in GW can change things anywhere in the world, they have a flexible system. Rift has a wide open world but a limited dynamic events system.
Rift's dynamic events have one trick over and over again, with slight variation though. A new rift is forming, oh look an elemental invasion... oh well the next one could be anything, from an elemental invasion, to an elemental invasion, and all the many elemental invasions in between. Whooo... that's DYNAMIC! *spirit fingers*
I voted for GW2 as well. It offers a much greater amount of variety in the types of activities players can take part in (there are even multiple ways to help out within the same event), and even though it's not completely random, it still generates a feeling that you never know exactly what you'll run into when out exploring.
RIFT's system feels too simplistic to me. Once I get tired of running around to random spawn points and killing a few differently color-coded mobs, what's left of the "dynamic" variety?
Which upcoming mmorpg, has the most interesting Dynamic event system, Rift or Guild Wars 2?
No on can say, even subjectively, without a complete run-down of side-by-side comparison.
As a matter of fact Game Informer did this. In every comparison it was either GW2 wins, or a draw...
Not quite, Rift won in the "release date" category.. because they have named one and GW2 is intent on not launching until the game is ready. I would've either not made that a category or given it to GW2.. but to each their own..
GW2. RIFT's event system sounds like nothing more than moving public quests in which mobs can take over quest hubs and kill the NPCs.
With that said, RIFT's system sounds down right annoying.
I concur that. I don't think I would call Rift's system dynamic seeing as how ANet calls theirs dynamic, there is obviously a difference between the two and GW2's seem to be the most "dynamic". Rifts seem to be randomly placed, randomly appearing public quests.
Rift dynamic events are at face value more repetetive, but they aren't scripted, GW2 has variety but it is in a scripted loop
Rift has coded its game from scratch to support their dynamic events system, and the developers have said they now have the technology to change the game world however they wish without server restarts/patches/updates, GW2 is just linking the outcome of public quest events together (with a few cooler ones I suspect like touching a magic crystal ball and a dragon invades a town etc)
Both Rift and GW2 are designing their game to allow for a more friendly atmosphere of cooperative grouping (rather than racing to get the kill)
Rift beats out GW2 marginally on dynamic events, on paper atleast.
If you want to decide which one to play i think its better if you take broader things into account like sub vs b2p, holy trinity vs 'shitstorm dps knockdown' (somone needs to come up with a name for this xD) class systems, pvp, lore etc.

From what I've read of both, they seem rather similar.
The information seems to infer that the events in GW2 will have a larger impact on the game world though.
Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

Seamless world does have its drawbacks you know,,,
I'm not sure what being seamless has to do with the discussion at hand.

I guess OP needs some kind of argument (no matter how irrelevant to discussion it is) to stick to...
