    3. Cataclysm. I'm not entirely convinced but i will give it a go. switching to feral dps as main to breathe som fresh air into the game as well.

    2. SW:TOR.  Allthough i'm very excited about the lore and the stor-line questing, voice over etc. the combat just seems lackluster. I will give it a try but the combat as well as rail shooter space combat killed most of my hype. hope still alive tho!

    1. TERA. If they succeed with the "westernisation", removing the grindy feel most eastern mmos have been known for, this might just end up being my new "home". The combat, political system, lore and art style looks amazing. did i mention the combat? I've played MMO's since Meridian 59 (muds before that) and it's nice to see some deviation from the regular "Target, hotbar command" gameplay.

Footnote. Warhammer 40k - two factions kinda killed my hype here. when we first heard about 3 factions my DAOC nostalgia came rushing back and i got my hopes up.. for nothing, it seems. or is it?

Since the invention of the internet the worlds rotation has been solely propelled by English teachers rolling over in their graves.

    MMO player since Meridian 59

As a fan of kotor, i'd have to say sw:tor as my most anticipated hands down, loved the whole story/choices element of kotor and will enjoy the same with sw:tor. But a close second is GW2, as someone who enjoys GW1 and playing the hell out of it atm while working on my HoM achievements, i am also looking forward to playing GW2. So my vote went to sw:tor, as for the other 3 games mentioned, Rift, Tera and DC Universe Online, i could care less.

None of those games really have me excited anymore. My top choices would include Faxion, Jumpgate Evolution, and I suppose APB Reloaded if you can even consider a relaunch the same as a launch.  However out of the 5 choices I will most likely vote Guild Wars 2, just because I know I'd most likely buy that even as a secondary game.

Indeed at the start of the year it would have been TOR, but after Bioware failed to deliver anything interesting in the gameplay videos, and ArenaNet totally blew the minds of everyone with their gameplay videos, GW2 is the winner here.

Today I'd say Rift - because the beta starts in a few hours (you'll be there, right? right? I'll light a flame under your arse!)

Overall, I went with SW:TOR because eventually that has the widest pool of potential addicts.

However, my real pick would have been The Secret World. Sham eon you for not having TSW on this list! (no, I get it.. we know very little about it.. let alone the release date - still, that's sort of true for everyone in this group except Rift and DCUO, isn't it?)

Tera- the best in my opinion, altought I know its not gonna win this award for obvious reasons.

    GW2-for being b2p.

The rest doesnt appeal to me.

Thankfully a huge hyped fanbase voting on a website award has nothing to do with the actual quality of the games.

    Rift for sure

TOR all the way, Bioware hasnt disappointed yet. And from looking at a lot of the leaked videos, TOR is more of an MMO than most would care to believe. Rift was very close, but my opinion might change during this beta weekend. Tera looks like more of the same asian grinder to me, and i have never been in to Guild Wars. Whether it's free or not it'll will never appeal to me

GW2, though I really should vote Rift since it will likely be out 2011 unlike GW2. SWTOR will be another EA train wreck, I'm currently playing WAR and I really like it but with EA pulling support AND making the player base pay for updates in addition to premium monthly subscriptions I suspect the player base will continue to shrink :(

I couldn't vote for any of them.

I think TERA get's my vote. I love most of the games that are on the list and I want to test them all out but TERA just look way too cool. If they give us what they have said they will it will be really exelent game and all the reviews that people have said promises a really A-game.

GW2, because staying power is what we need. Anyone who is just plain not interested in GW2 has done zero research on the game or just hates it for no reason. I understand more hype being placed elsewhere, but damn man...

    GW2 just sounds too cool.

I loved GW. still do. I usually don't have time to sit for 4 hours and play a game. hopefully GW2 will be the same. get in, do a mission/quest, get on with life. love that style. GW2 gets my vote !

Even though I'm sure it is likely not to be the most anticipated game on this particular site, I think SWTOR is the most anticipated MMO over all to come out next year. After all, there are way more Star Wars and Bioware fans than there are Guild Wars players.

GW2. It has so much hype riding on it. Definitely most anticipated.

  • LadyAlibiLadyAlibi Member UncommonPosts: 297

I just went with the game I was most interested in, which was Rift.  My second choice would have been TOR, and then GW2.

  • shamus252shamus252 Member UncommonPosts: 226

Voted for RIFT, but im keeping an eye on GW 2 also just RIFT has me more intrested.

    GW2

If you hadn't said "carry a reasonable expectation that we will see a launch some time in 2011", I would have said, "What about The Secret World" ,,, but we have been hanging waiting for The Secret World  ... well, for years now ... only knowing that The Secret World is so secret that no one (including the developers) knows when it will be launched.

I think we will be old and grey when The Secret World is launched but we won't even know because so many years have passed.  At that time, new technology brings us Beta Invitations to hook our brains up to a processor for the ultimate gaming and puzzle solving experience.   We Secret World fans go for it (arthritis and keying don't mix) ... but during one of the patches ... well, you know how the story ends.

Well, I've been eagerly anticipating GW2 since I first heard about it around 4 years or so ago, and everything I've seen so far convinces me that it won't disappoint.  Rift is a close second, but because GW2 is subscription free (buy to play), plus looking like a quality game, that has to be my choice.

i thought GW2 wasn't going to be released until 2012-2013?
