The trailer was nice, is it wrong of me to cheat the little zombie girl on? hope so...anyways ugg another zombie game when will they die? (all puns in tended) yes theya re fun to kill and what not ( a specially that squishy sound) but as one poster said i prefer a bit more of a challanging prey, something that doesnt want brains and just shutters all over the place, and ever notice that no matter what game or movie it is the zombies are always drooling and staggering about with the arms held out infront of them going ugggggh (kind of like me at 5 in the morning with no coffee!0

  • This is how i like my Zombie Movies / Games. Less comedy gorefest, and more of a serious dark tone. Yea i just got stoked.

Wow...I dont even know...what to say..

That trailer was beautiful, awesome, terrifying, and absolutely depressing all rolled into 3 minutes..

Ive never been moved in any way by a VIDEO GAME TRAILER of all things..

I was feeling upbeat and normal before watching it and now it shot so many emotions through me that I dont know what to feel anymore...

    lol?

Wow, now that is a trailer. Hollywood, take notes.

Those of you complaining about "Another zombie game". Let us remind you this game has been in production for some 4-5+ years. Way before the new zombie-hype of todays gaming.

If this trailer did nothing to elicit some kind of human quality to save that little girl, than you may need to step back and re-evaluate your life and what it means to be alive. I don't care if its "just CGI" or not. You are void of emotion and need some serious help.

This trailer is one of the best videos ever made. Period.

Good very well be the first game that I pre-order based entirely from the trailer. If they put just 1/10th of the emotion in Dead Island as they did with their trailer, they will have a sure winner. Hacking away at zombies is one thing, but trying to save a little girl from being eaten alive is something else.

    Well I'm torn.............

When I watched that trailer what it left me with was a desire to see the movie not play the game lol.

It's nice to see a real Zombie game come along. As Woods said it's supposed to be about the people, thats what makes a good zombie movie and it's probably why we haven't seen a good zombie game. They all either focus on the gore or the zombies themselves to little focus on the people. Less Dead Rising 1/2 and more like this trailer and we may finally have a good actual Zombie game.

But... honestly.... I'd still rather see this turned into a movie lol.

what platform is the game for? PS3 or pc? or xbox?

The one problem I have with most modern zombie games is that they don't limit themselves. What I mean by this, is that I live in a small town, maybed twelve hundred people and another seven hundred or so scatered in the local cemitaries, because most people get planted somewhere else the town is that small. Now if the zombie appocolypse happened I'd have to deal with an imediate two thousand zombies at worse, then more as the out laying areas became infected. But I'm on a continent, in a country, with over a billion people.

The game in the trailer is on an island resort, very little in terms of long term population, lots of tourists. Is there going to be a point where I think, wow I've killed six thousand zombies, where are they all coming from. I really found myself feeling that way in a lot of the current zombie games, as I just wondered where the hell are they all coming from.

On a side note I miss working in office furniture installation because of zombies. We used to joke during installs about what part of an office was the best "In a pinch" anti zombie weapon.

its alright having a spangly trailer like that, but i bet  the game plays nothing like it and looks nothing like it. thats how it always is.

not a true representation of the product they are trying to sell.

they should be trying to make games where the ingame footage is as exciteing as these silly cgi trailers so people are impressed with the game and not just underwhelmed when they finally play it to find out the trailer doesnt represent the game play.

what you have is a fantastic looking game that isnt so fantastic when you actualy play it.

that needs to change and one of the reasons why gamers think games suck today.

I watched it twice and if the game is as good as the trailer then it will be game of the year.

Couldn't agree more! One of the best game trailers so far ;) just Duke Nukem beats it ;)

  • WorstluckWorstluck Member Posts: 1,269

I liked the trailer.  Probably wont bother with the game because it's not really a RPG from my understanding, more of a hack/slash FPS.  But this trailer has piqued my intrest a tad.

Sure, the trailer is the most brilliant thing to come out of gaming in ages, but it's still a blatant ripoff.

A mother holds her deceased child, the cinematic is shot backwards...In what way is this related in any way shape or form to this trailer?? I only did watch it twice to see if I was missing something, but stil fail to see it, I'm not a big movie/trailer/cg/ai/whatsawhosit guy.

I enjoyed the  vid but outside of those passing similarities, I just didn't see it...

I'm not a zombie fan, TBH i've watched 2 A rated movies and 2 B rrated movies(those you might as well consider comidies with hot chicks) - Zombie btw

This trailer actually evocted so much emotion from me that not only am I "disgusted"(in a good way,  the group that has the balls to take such a personal setting and turn it into a trailer. genius)   But also because although I don't have kids, I have so many younger cousing around that age(even younger, between 4-12), and just having a vacation in Myrtle Beach with all of them this past summer.  HOLY SHIT!!!

Make something of your game devs!  If your game can draw a fraction of the response your trailer did, I might as well start including you in my budget when I think about the bills for the month!

See hollywood jumping on the bandwaggon by saying going to make a movie out of it, talk about trying to destorying the concept in order to make money from somebodys else idea...

World we live in i guess.

ZOMBIES!! I'm a self professed Zombie fanatic! From Fulci, Romero, Russo and O'Bannon to Anderson. I love L4D and L4D2, though I detest pointless 'mowing down zombies with a chainsaw' games like Dead Rising. Resident Evil was a great series, until they let you control the camera, then it lost that fear of what's around the corner and turned into just another 3rd person shooter with zombies.

Great trailer! But the problem is that the trailer really tells you nothing about the game play. It's cinematically engaging, though I feel its pacing is a bit slow and the jumping back and forth is a little static. (Meaning I feel it should have started going back and forth more rapidly as it reached the junction, in order to foster the feeling that the two perspectives were coming together..)

By the way, anyone looking for a pretty good zombie novel should check out Brian Keene's Dead Rising, and City of the Dead.

The human race is so good at enjoying its own violence, pain, misery, destruction they even make a lot of movies, books and games out of it.

This CGI triggering positive and enthusiastic comments is so proving how f*cked up you are guys.

Sorry, couldn't let this go by without a comment.  First, I loved the clip for it's artistic value, shock value and my surprise that something so small; 3 minutes, could contain so much drama and emotion.  I actually laughed out loud from a feeling of pleased shock that it was as good as it was.

Second, you want a more challenging prey than a foe who never gets tired, who can increase it's numbers by blood, bite or scratch and whose only goal in life is to eat you?  I call foul on you.  FOUL I say.  You are not being honest.

Oh sure, I can understand that you might be trying to overcome an innate and logical fear by trivializing it with bombard and boasting, but dude, when this really happens, and it will one day, you'll be curled in a ball in the cabinets under your sink with tears coming down your cheeks.

HAHAHAHa.   Your avatar is Golem.  He ate babies, strangled beings in their sleep, and was as close to a zombie as you can get in Tolkien's world.   Your post doesn't make sense taking that little clue about you into account.

I dont care what kind of sappy piano music is playing....if a zombie comes for me I'm cutting off the head with an axe.  Wouldn't even hesitate...

I personally love the zombie genre whether it be in movies or games. When i first seen this trailer the first thing i thought was if this game looks even half as good as the trailer and the controls/game play dont ruin it it will replace any zombie game im currently playing for sure. The trailer itself reminded me of Heavy Rain. That game looks as good as any game you will find on any platform. If they can make this game as detailed as that outside of the trailer and have even a mediocre game gameplay/control wise this game will be great. Here is to hoping...Im kind of tired of the contant reused settings for most zombie games.Person/group gets chased by zombies, instantly learns how to use/combine weapons, proceeds to kill thousands of zombies before the end.Its just too unrealistic i think. I hope this is a true survival type game and less of a "let just shoot and kill every zombie in sight" game.

yet another zombie game, it looks like a little bit like dead rising from what I hear, open world sandbox survival horror which dead rising scratched the surface of. no stupid time limits you have to survive a zombie out break on an island resort so obviously looking at a much bigger world, more chances of amubushes and accidently stumbling into a large group of zombies. the main concern that I have is what about death, online and overall strategy will one bite infect you starting a clock till you die?, if its multiplayer can you die become a zombie and chase your friends cause that would be fun even more fun if a horde of zombies instintly followed you. Lastly the whole melee weapon scavange firearms thing isnt anything new no matter hoe you repackage it, so how about some trap making I unsderstand that tere are at least 4 characters who are left for dead....pun intended with unique ablities so this could easily develop into a squad based game but setting up a trap trip wire, explosives, shrapnel and really large and deep holes in the ground to lure the zombies into would make this a potentail buy for me.

impressive trailer, however that level of depth is impossible to mimic off a staged scene :P

It was really a great trailer and I think it reminds me what  I've been missing from gaming for years.... An emotional tie to the charactors. I'm excited to see where this game goes from here.

And for all the posters that say zomg not another zombie title thats how I feel about several genres that keep getting produced. Zomg not another War based game like CoD or MoH... meh  played one played them all... because its not my genre lol if your one saying zomg not another zombie game then guess what... your not the target audience : )

Enjoy your opinions on games but remember its only your opinion ; )

Shocks me to see the reaction of some people pertaining to the little girl and her sad demise. Its not like its the first time we see something like this, in dawn of the dead we see zombie little girl and in the firts episode of the walking dead we see a zombie little girl also. I think its shocking people more because we got to see how the little girl and her parents met her demise in detail. We feel shocked because the way the trailer is presented is very personal, a family out on vacation suddenly something like this happens, the way its presented is key and touches our deepest emotions. This trailer ive shown to everyone i know and everyone just stays quiet and watches it captivated by whats going on.

If the entire game can capture this feeling it will deliver. Reminds me of the first time i played Resident Evil when it came out on the ps. I love my Zombie flicks and series and games and im hoping this one will bring something new to an otherwise extremely played out genre. Im not complaining but some people breath a fresh air to the genre everytime i think someone has killed it with a bad zombie movie somene else comes and brings something new to it, like 28 days later, Pontypool and The Walking Dead, putting a more human face to human zombies gives us human emotions not just see zombie kill zombie movies of old.
