Looking forward to this game. Pvp looks pretty great. Taking a page from modern fps is not a bad idea I think. Being able to host your own fight with customized rules sounds good, and if the tournaments are well organized it could work. On a different note, I'm really liking some of their ideas about dynamic events, and how the events will tie into some of the pvp. Check out their GDC talk, it explains a lot. If we get great pve and great pvp in one game I will be amazed.
3 "faction" server vs. server vs. server open world PvP content.
It is not pvp between factions it is PVP between servers doesn't matter what your race or faction is. DAOC is 3 faction PVP MMO.
However i agree that people think about world PVP in a very strict manner. Hopefully GW2 will change that.
Servers can be called factions. They simply becouse each "faction" (server) has the same races and classes it can't be called a faction? I see absolutely no difference. You say people are very strict and yet you do the same.
why should every game use the same words? faction can mean thousands of things. realms vs realms, server vs server, faction vs faction, race vs race...whats the difference? and why does it matter :P
wow (no the game) i know it's the interent, but why do "we" always end trolling/flaming eachother?
is it the "mine's bigger than yrs" syndrome?
if that's the case, why should we prefer a game when every "victory" u get is just temporary and meaningless and not something you can go and brag about...on the internet?maybe with your guild/corp/faction mates? something that will remain in the "history" of a given game, even if later on your guild/corp/faction was wiped out?
long-term accomplishment is what i was looking for in new games, maybe that's just limited to sandboxes, which sadlt tend to fail with some (noticable) exceptions, but that still makes me sad.
Not sayin GW2 is gonna suck, gotta try it before i can actually express my personal opinion on it, and i will, like i did when the 1st launched...it managed to keep me hooked for 4-5 months, which is a lot more than most other MMO(RPG) i've tried, except one , EVE who managed to keep me hooked for almost 5 years (with some breaks).
Guess that's what some of the other guys complain about , when they speak of open world pvp and have to agree with them...GW2 will not have it.
The more I read on this game the more it seems like just another WOW clone. Sure there are SOME new things here but after a month of playing this will probably just be another mediocre wow clone. Just my opinion.

I don't know about the rest of the Top Ten List of "Why GW is not a WoW Clone" but here's #1
