thats true moreplex, but at least they have tried to change that up for the next patch with the addition of the testing team. So lets see how that turns out.
Well I am going by track record and you are going by hope. One exsists and the other doesn't. We will see. As I have said I think the new testers are just going to be scape goats. SV has used the line"we are testing the next one this time for real and there will be less problems" . I do not think it is so much better testing as it is just bade coding. And the transfer from a nice and tidy server to live messes everything up.
So this time instead of using the old line for the millionth time they can say "hey we had testers don't look at us".
True but I don't think they would blame the testing team if there was some major bugs and I guess your mis quoting them when they refer to stuff going live, which I guess is when they talk about prediction and the network code.
Also there never been a testing team before, SV are a very small team, they now have 17 people who can test it and find the bugs which hopefully will get ironed out so hopefully we will see a different result since this has not be tried before and the more people generally mean less bugs, so if anything this can only be a postitive movement in the right direction.
Plus I don't understand what you mean when you say they use old line for the 1million time.

SV has said multiple times they have a testing team... The only difference now is they added 17 testers from the community.
Aslo if you ever read the leaked pm from Matts patches are released sometimes without fixing the bugs per Henrik wanting the content out. So hopefully the new testers can override henrik and say we want it fixed before you release.

-OR, the reson they are requiring ID to test and an overbearing NDA is because they already know that its going to be a buggy mess and they really are not going to (cant) fix half the shit the testers will find and will release anyhow...
For the first few days we will hear how everything is great, bugs are fixed and pop is booming. Unsubbed folks will (again) stupidly sub for a month or so and then the truth will surface, more people leave and everyone will await the next Henrick Hype.
They are asking Aphilas to write up an "Impressions Blog" about the test group's experiences with TC so far, hopefully to be published by the end of this week. More news would be good.
I have asked Aphilas to write out a "Impressions Blog" to explain how things have been going, and maybe even go into their experiences with the territory control and the testing process as a whole. While I do not have an exact time-line for everyone, I would like to have it out by the end of this week; or sooner.
He said that in response to Opal talking about Aphilas, If anyone knows Aphilas like I do and a lot of old players. He is the wrong person to be leading the testers.
There are a lot of the names on the list that sound like they were bottom of the barrel pics. What could you do tho with the strict guidines SV imposed on being a tester for a released game.

I think anyone willing to send Starvault a scan of their ID/Passport are the wrong people to be testing anything. Zealots prove to be poor testers.

Henrik provided a little more information regarding the future of siege warfare and territorial control, stating that the TC patch will bring some new weapons and defense functionality:
"I did enjoy DaoC a lot back then as well.
We will expand on our siege mechanics for sure now that we got the patch incoming for fixes tomorrow, and a real reason to fight for something along with TC/PP/stat system, after this, we will see where we need to add functions, such as more and different ways to offend and defend structures. TC do bring a few new types of weapons and defense functions already."

but it doesnt change the fact that to conquer you must destroy completely and re-build THE SAME THING from scratch, actually you cant conquer, just delete and remake, which makes no sense.
