Most fun I've had in an MMO. Cutscenes load fast, the combat is fun, sound is brilliant. Definitely getting this - I was anyways, but still.
Don't know if it was my computer but everything was smooth and the graphics were great!

graphics, graphics...yer, maybe, but the gameplay is...world of warcraft in space...no really! I really don't get it, do you really like this game? Prime Online is the game that is worth waiting for...these themeparks...for teens....Go kill 10 Newbie Hunters...Go get 10 Newbie Hunter's Riffle from Newbie Hunters... this is just rediculous...was fun like...5 years ago...5 years!!!...(at maximus level) Go kill 20 Maximum Level Hunters...Go to a dungeon get some gear...got all the best gear? Wait for the expansion in which you can kill some mobs again, and get some better stuff... OMG....
Yeah baby. Can't wait for launch!!
I am lovin it so far as well. The game is fun. Although I will most likely wait about a month or two before I buy it. I don't want to play on released with a gazillion other people.
Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.
Loving the beta so far as well.. seems very stable and the combat is very fluid.. want to play BH som much but at the same time i don't want to spoil it before the launch =P
Maybe you shouldn't be playing RPG games in general because that is the whole genre in a nutshell. Have you been to the Western Ice Shelf on Ilum? Have you run D7 and the other endgame encounters?
Having played WoW for 3-4 years and now testing this for over a year I can tell calling this WoW in space is not accurate. Yes, you have abilities and skills... just like every other RPG in the world. Yes you have quests to kill things, no, they are not kill x of y. They have the same principle but are masked by the story elements, planet design, and heroic encounters that involve multiple players.
On top of that you don't have to run the non-story quests to level. PvP xp makes PvP'ing a viable leveling strategy, while not as fast it still moves you along fairly rapidly. You can run the flashpoints to level instead of these quests as well. If you are gonna bash something, atleast take the time to come up with some accurate facts.
I'm not overly blown away by the game personally, but your critique is just wrong. Yes it is a theme park game through 90% of the beginning. But there are open world PvP objectives and endless room for expansion to more PvP planets and other more sandbox environments. Personally I'm gonna play the game till I'm 50, find out what the community and endgame are like, and then decide whether it's worth my 15$ a month.
I didn't expect much at all and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the game and how well its made.
I will be getting it for the story element alone. I hope SW TOR will have a great roleplaying community since only people who are interested in the story will keep playing it. Hopefully, the game mechanics will shoo the 1337 kids and epeeners away.

but seriosly, the exact same key-binds for this game as for wow. it's just to much like it. im just sad they didn't dare to try something new. it's great in a booring way. rip sw:galaxy
I will cancel my preorder right now, this game is sub-par.
The movies were amazing though. I guess there is where the money is, becaue it's totally not in the game.
An honest review of SW:TOR 6/10 (Danny Wojcicki)
Any company thats brings out a mmo and does not try to do something different now is just in it for the money. I have no love for companys like that.
I was playing the beta just w while ago and i lost conetction to the game and i cant git back in fuck.
Lol.

This game WOULD be brilliant if they didn't invite too many shaggin people to the beta to the extent that a weekend beta test lasting a mere two days doesn't involve a FOUR HOUR wait to get into the f*&^king game on the first day. And, after this four hour wait, I'm still only number 876 in the queue! That's what I get for arriving home 18 minutes after the servers opened I guess. I can already predict the enevitable 'but it's free, how dare you complain' spam, well, allow me to pre-emptively retort: I made specific plans to stay home on a Friday night when I could have been doing better things to play this beta, the least they could have done is made a teency weenchy calculation on the number of invites versus the number of spots versus the number of servers and adjusted accordingly so as not to waste peoples' time. Not that hard really. I mean we are doing THEM a favour by testing their game for free after all.
I'm surprised how the story makes those kill x of y quests more enjoyable..i must say swtor pleasantly surprised me.
They did try something new, full voiced story and not just pointless questing.
What?
Thats not new and this game still does pointless questing.
Same here. Tried beta today and its look like 5year old game. Same or maybe worse graphic than wow. Combat style suck ass can't help my self. Though SWTOR would be a bit different and better but its just a crap. I 'm not a wow lover, stoped to play it year ago. Now ill have to wait for guildwars 2 or archeage. Hope it will not fail like previous MMOs

So if you notice that I'm no longer answering your nonsense, stop trying... because you just joined my block list.
it is new, no mmo has story like swtor does. no mmo lets you make decisions that alter the course of the quest. that is new like it or not.
"these themeparks...for teens"
You nailed it. I'm not getting this game, but i am getting it for my kids.
But why you ask, because it's a theme-park, themeparks are easy, they hold your hand and guide you around, perfect for my children.
Been gaming a long time and i can tell you with this game i wont be hearing "Dad, we need help" every five seconds, or hear them getting upset because they are dying constantly. Probably wont hear much but the game sounds as i think they will really get into for awhile.
It'll be practically no different than them watching clone wars except they will get little errands to go get y and kill x, like i said before absolutely perfect for the kids and isn't that what themparks are truly about, for the children.
They will most likely enjoy it over the holidays, maybe a little longer... i doubt I'll be making the first month payment, i hope.
Well to each his own.. but sub-par compared to what? ...i have played an beta tested loads of mmorpg's (including the bigger ones) and i find this to be a superb mmorpg.. I have just played lvl 1-10 and im already a junkie *hehe*. But I'm curious why you think it is sub-par?
{mod edit}
it's a game i enjoyed playing it,{mod edit}
No you cant say the same for me because I am not here trying to defend Lineage 3, hell I dont even know if there will be a Lineage 3. I have said time and time again that Star Wars is just another themepark that does nonthing for the genre. Just like Warhammer, Age Of Conan, Aion and Rift this is just something to play till a real mmo comes out. We are still waiting.
I think hello kitty online is better for children.
Point me in the direction of this real mmo you speak of ,until then i'll play whats on the market. if you don't like swtor then just move on why waste anymore time and energy on it?
First beta day here.
Hour 1:
Wow this is so great! Those movies, and cutscenes at every step, and great voice acting, and it actually has a story! And this cover thing, so great, i have to position to be able to use my attacks, yay!
Hour 2:
Darn i hate this cover thing so much, i always forget about it. Having to crouch to be able to shoot, so lame and annoying, especially when you lose Line of Sight to the target or the char auto-rolls to a spot where i don't face the mobs. Still, great quests, nice voice acting, gonna focus on following the story!
Hour 3:
Bla bla... blaaaa bla bla bla blaaaa ... god i hate runnin thru corridors (all looks like corridors to me, lacks the "open" space) just to speak to these ppl... was fun at first but what;'s too much it's too much... where's the adrenaline? If i wanted to watch a movie i would have rented one
oh yea, the thingy's up, press 1
Bla bla bla... bla blaaaa
press 1
bla bla bla in an uncomprehensible language so i have to read it now
press 1
phew, glad that's over!
woot lvl up? maybe i can customize my char, put some stat points here and there... oh well not for me, have fun you guys who enjoy it tho.
