Seriously,if you dont like ToR then i would recommend quiting the mmo gaming industry. This obviously is my point of view but i really think that for now this is the most complete mmo out there and if you find yourself not liking it than maybe its time for you to rethink the type of game you want, you`ll probably find out that mmos arent for you.

Just cause majority of ppl dont like that,.gone are the times of spending 6 months in a game to achieve something, this is the direction mmos are going and I dont really mind. Im no longer a kid that could play UO everyday for about 10h and im not looking for a second job just to have fun and socialize with friends that feel the same.
Thankyou oh great lord of MMO gaming, we all bow to your will.......
Most complete game ? umm hello lack of endgame......
SWTOR will cater to the needs of many MMO'ers and it will fall short for mony others you can write all the threads you like but it wont change this fact. I think a lot of dissapointment in the game is coming from starwars fans rather than MMO fans.
I've been playing mmorpgs for about 12 years now. It took me about 1 day of playing in beta to realise I would rather be playing EQ1 on the progression server than playing this drivel
If you would have written:
"Seriously,if you dont like ToR then i would recommend quiting playing themeparks altogether. This obviously is my point of view but i really think that for now this is the most complete themepark out there and if you find yourself not liking it than maybe its time for you to rethink the type of game you want, you`ll probably find out that themeparks arent for you."
You would have been right.
But TOR, despite it being a great, addictive and very well executed game, is in fact ... not for everyone. If you really cherrish player influence and freedom like in EVE to give an example, and despise any kind of "premade" content, you're better off playing sandbox games.
But yeah, it IS the best themepark I ever played*
*As far as I can tell at level 24
My brand new bloggity blog.
Even as a kid is wrong to play mmos 10h a day. Just saying.
But to the Op, i think ur logic is wrong. Not all like this tipe of game mmo (rails/thempark) where u are pointed what to do and what to make with no real decision in betwen. And saying that like`it or be gone its applied to a "insert name here" game, and not to the whole genre. Basicly i think ur logic is a imature fanboy one!
Nice narrowminded view on the MMO industry as a whole
Becasue SWTOR really is hte pinnacle of every MMO ever in everyway
your thread should have been if you want to play a new polished theme park easymode game, play SWTOR
There are many other styles of mmo's. Most players are blind to this however as they feel small community games are "failures".
There are a couple main stream mmo's with a twist on the horizon. One of great interest to me is Archeage. I am hearing great things about it (despite being only in Korea ... and being a korean game). The Secret World is getting some early insider buzz too (lets hope for a good launch for FC ... for once).
Honestly Bioware made the game they set out to make so I do not blame them. The greatest let down for me is Turbine. They had an original baby in AC yet turned to themepark after. They could have mastered the high adventure sandbox'ish , skill based mmo and cornerd the market with it if they stuck with the format. Their community was small yet hardcore and they let them down.
You stay sassy!
This site is just full of people who won't even give a game a chance if it isn't a sandbox. It's so bad infact that even the pure hate for SWG people had for so many years here. Is now getting praised just so they can bash on SWTOR. Most of these forum members will never find a game, because they have stewed in there hate for so long. That this has actually become there game.
His main point is not narrowminded at all. SWTOR just became the most professional MMO to this day and took the crown from WoW, which had this advantage (by far) over other mmos. And thus the success in MMO industry as a whole.
If we talk about success from individuals' PoV , now that is relative and something we can argue about till eternity.
Lack of end game?? ROFL. Has more engame than any other mmo out there, at launch... you cant't compaired this game to others mmo's if you talk about content. Compaire it after 1 or 2 years
Does your ass have a mouth? Just wondering, because you sure talked outof it on this post. lvl 50 Flashpoints, Raids, lvl 50 heroics, and an entire planet for lvl 50 pvp at launch. Your right there is nothing to do.... Oh, and don't speak for Star Wars fans as you know nothing of what 'we' think.
People like different types of MMOs and saying that one is the only one worth playing is stupid.
Some people like games like Eve, others Guildwars or DDO...
I recommend that you stop telling other players that they should quit if they don't share your preferences.
Nothing against TOR though but there are other games as well.
Here's a tip for you OP'er.
If you don't like others criticising your favourite games, don't come onto the forums that do so.
Your post is either immature or flame-bait.
you cannot say that, its not factual until its financial return passes WOWs income. Sure its initial sales are high but nothing is set in stone.
I dont know if you can say its the most professional MMO thats a very vague term.
Its a OK game nothing more nothing less its not the pinnacle of MMO's, far from it in fact, it lacks innovation, it lacks the MM in MMO, its a star wars guild wars mixed with some Mass Effect.
Its enjoyable dont get me wrong but its far from the holy grail of what a MMO could and should be.
And you just reek of dissapointment. Holy grail? That is something you will never get, so keep dreaming.
If "pick an mmo title" is a Yugo, than SW is Porsche. Yes they both have seats, wheels, breaks, lights, horn, etc... but the difference is still clear...
I hope TOR becomes a haven for people like this so that I don't have to encounter these kind of opinions in other MMOs that I will be playing... honestly.
It's an insult to development teams that actualy try to innovate and improve the genre...
..Cake..
GW2 and TSW both being 100% themeparks. Archeage, I'm not sure, but seems like even that might be more themepark than sandbox. Not to mention Blade&Soul and Tera, also coming soonish, and also themeparks. The reasons people don't like TOR, for the most part, have nothing to do with it being a themepark.
..never mind an MMO (LOL).
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
Hey i want a good sandbox game as well but until then ill be killing Rebels on Tat....
Have a nice day...
It's on rails yes... But damn, what a train to ride..
Had to sign below this...
