To me it's pretty obvious which game has the best graphics & Engine.. wispears dnl
ahhhh well, what am i to do with good graphics when my pc cant even handle one??? anyway i do hope to get a new video card. And yeah, there are still people who play diablo and it makes me wonder

Best Free MMO grpahics -Guild wars

Originally posted by Fadeus Originally posted by Copeland I don't think they've bothered updating their screenshots since alpha. Do you remember WISH? Did you see WISH? They bought those graphics. WISH was beautiful and so IRTH will be because its the same code, same models, same trees, same land. WISH had 2 big issues as to why it didnt succeed. Neither of them were its graphics. I remember when i was testing WISH you'd hear people come on and say "Wow, this is some beautiful work! Hey how do i get 1st person? WTF IS THIS GAME ALL POINT AND CLICK!" the response was always "yup its gorgeous isnt it. you cant get first person and yes its PnC but you'll actually get used to it rather fast" Irth isnt PnC. Irth has 1st person. Irth has realm vs realm pvp. Irth has quests, crafting and pve. Irth even has a race for people who dont like pvp that cant be attacked. Irth has everything a game needs to be good and to be successful. I'm not certain whether or not i'll be playing it because basically the game isnt done yet so the jury is still out. I'm sure leaning towards it though.
Ummm, no. Wish was horrible looking. I was in the beta, there was nothing redeeming about its graphics.
This is first time I disagree with you about something Fadeus, hehe. I agree with you all the points of your posts in this thread, yet I really wonder why you defined Wish's graphics as "horrible". I'm really surprised, as you tend to hold an "objective distance" to all the games in the market according to me. Don't get me wrong I don't complain it, to contrary to that, I like that approach very much indeed. But What makes Wish's graphics "horrible"? I think you defined its graphics as horrible so as to emphasize your disagreement with Copeland's thought as well as emphasizing your disapprovement with Copeland's manner he's displaying towards the people who don't think as same as he does. Just hold your "objective distance" to Wish and consider its graphics once more. Although it's been announced th the Wish graphics have been purchased, there's still yet much difference between them. I'll show the difference.

Oh and also to mention i have updated my main post a bit i have added two screenshots of the mmorpg called lord of the rings and added some more text and also improved the grammer perhaps you want to give it a fast re-look
Most colorful, most detailed, most imaginative, most varied? Best character skins, most varied, most detailed, best character animations.... Best eniviromental/landscape graphics? Best lighting effects, spell effects, best mobs?
EQ2 has great water effects, good but bland landscapes.
WoW has cartoony/stylised but colorful, well designed environments.
Wish had great forest/meadow landscapes.
Characters, NPCs? Not WoW, too low res, too cartoony. Wish, bah.
I have not played ALL games out now, and screen shots do not tell a full story.
I think technically the best engine from released games (yeah Huxley with the U3 engine is really cool) it think EQ2 has the best engine. Too bad they used it the wrong way. Cool engine, but with some better art it could have been so much more.
It's somewhat hard to decide which one is best, but the worst one is exactly Roma Victor's one. Irth Online needs a lot of work when it's compared to other screenshots. There's yet plenty of time to improve, so my comments about them are just valid for the moment.
Dark&Light has nice graphics but I am not sure which game has best graphic engine, I need to play them. I may have Dark&Light a go when it releases. I may do it, as I've read somewhere it would be a big let-down. Time will show...
Well, i dont want to give my humble opinion, so i just searched gamespot reviews to graphics. And this is it: [ Guild Wars: 10, WoW: 9, EQ2: 8, Lineage 2: 8 ] . Sorry if and didn't search more reviews but i think ppl considered this 4 the top mmorpg at the moment.
Anyway, about engine, be carefull cause u may be cheated as lineage 2 is using unreal engine and so will other mmorpgs. So better put just "who has the best graphics?".
SPORE! Not really an MMO... still the best engine.

It seems like Irth Online learned a lesson from the downfall of Wish. Wish had problems getting enough people to sign up, so they decided to pull the plug. Irth Online is releasing the game with no monthly fee to generate initial demand for the game. Irth Online seems to be following the successful model of Guild Wars. That seems like a smart thing to do given all the competing games begin released soon.

Vangaurd saga of heroes or Heroes Journey for me
scaramoosh you have now become a Troll, and I watched it happen over the course of about 3 months. Get a life k? Dark and Light, Vanguard and Hero's Journey are all gonna be amazing. Why you have to pick Dark and Light and continuously say it's gonna fail? At least make it sound believable: anyone who has seen the E3 video of Dark and Light knows you are on crack.
All 3 games are gonna be released next year so they don't qualify. Best MMORPG engine in 2005? It's a tougher question than it sounds. Guild Wars isn't an MMORPG technically so BZZT wrong. Irth online has an amazing engine: I have never seen such complicated textures and models move SO quickly. I typically get over 60 fps it's really quite amazing.
If you have the ultimate gaming rig, Everquest 2 still has the best graphics technically of a game that is in current release. Sorry, but if you don't have the best of the best of everything, you can't comment on it.
Vanguard and Dark and Light look like they will be bringing quite the excitment to the gaming world with the Graphics but will the actually engine or gameplay fufill it prolly not waiting for a new Anime Based game the graphics arent realistic beacuse they dont have to be plus they are more fun
As much As I do not like the game...I will say EQ2 has the best graphics going, but Drk and light seems to be the one thats going to take it. I mean look and the landscape its amazing. the engine is great too!! There is a weather system going that no other game has done yet. So say what you want. A clue? Your saying a company folded up years of development because they chose point and click for the movement style and your telling others to buy a clue??? Gee, I would have thought the company would have simply of changed the movement style IF that was the real issue, which it wasn't. Try engaging that brain of yours alittle when you post please.
