Even if like En Masse a lot more than Frogster, I will play on EU since for me 200ms in a game that require fast reaction is game breaking and I can only assume that a lot of other people will do the same even those who are screaming they'll play on NA.

I guess so.. I'll stick to EU for now I guess. Thanks ^^
It will go f2p within a year. Western audiences simply dont like asian games, the mindsets are just too different.
That being said, playing a warrior in the open beta was the most fun experience I had playing computer games in 2012 so far. The combat system simply works.
Still, sadly, there is no chance this game can suceed as p2p.
No. The game is far too high quality to be dead shortly after release in any part of the world. Yes, it's mediocre in terms of gameplay, but that gameplay hasn't stopped games like Perfect World or Runes of Magic from doing very well. I will not be one of those people out there playing TERA, but I'd still take it over other games like it.
I do however, think it will be F2P pretty quickly. It will have to be if it wants to compete with F2P Aion in the long-term, let alone make a profit over other games coming later this year.
"Forums aren't for intelligent discussion; they're for blow-hards with unwavering opinions."
I really need help deciding between playing n the US servers rather than the EU ones.
Will the game remain equally populated in EU?
I see the problem as being the same issue as with playing an FPS or any game that requires a server. I'll explain.
You log on to play Shooty Bang, You have 2 choices, EU server with 3 people or US server with 9 people. You decide to go to the US one. Because it has more people. If everybody takes that mentality then the EU server will never have people on it.
I'm going to play EU to try and prevent this, I don't mind the blood change, anyone that's screaming outrage at it confuses me, to each their own, I mean if that was one of your big loves about the game go ahead and scream. It just seems like it's internet rage blowing it out of proportion. The Emblem thing? I'm waiting to see how they handle it, but it's a logical response to remove it for now and reintroduce the system later with a better reporting system overlooking it.
I don't like Frogster, I'll come right out and say it, I worry that they might do bad things, but I also know that this isn't WAR, this isn't GoA. Frogster are the community managers and the server hosts for EU, they don't have any sort of creative control, Bluefrog give them the patches, and tells them when to push them through to live, you think they're behind the "Blood Issue"? No, they relayed information regarding the rating to Bluefrog, and they made the decision. I'll stay EU so that whatever happens at least there will be one more person populating our servers, because while I may not have much faith in Frogster, either A) They will surprise me. Bluefrog will step in and do something about the EU "management" if they perceive it to be going that way, or C) Bluefrog will end up trashing both US and EU. And when one of those happens, I want to be able to have it happen on my local servers.
Plus also, high ping irritates me and given that the US servers are in Chicago, I can bet that some EU friends I'd play with would complain like no tomorrow at their pings.
You are not your system specs. You are not your uptime stats or your oversized screencap. You are not your broadband connection. You are not your postcount.
A year ago I knew the game would fail (not a troll). Judging by what I saw from the Eastern release, and playing the beta, and the lawsuit, ya....Also GW2 is coming out and a few months away the new WoW Exp (dont hate) I don't see Tera doing that well. In a year it will be F2P.
So many great games were released last year and guess what? The world kept spinning and people either loved them or hated them.
I still load up my KoA from time to time, for example while I know it got a lot of hate.
NA servers are going to be more populated simply due to the fact that En Masse was clever enough to allow players to level up to 20+ for free during Open beta and then keep their characters if they pre-purchase the game before headstart. Also Frogster had created separate servers for english, french, and german players, and then created separate PvE and PvP servers for each, really thining out the population. NA servers are more condensed because it's filled with just NA players.
As for failing, The EU-community had a very strong presence in K-Tera that has lasted over a year already and has transfered over to EU Tera, so I don't see EU-Tera going anywhere soon as long as there are people wanting to play it. And if you're wondering the the majority of the players I've asked simply could care less about any other MMOs that are coming out this year. Your best bet regardless it to stick to the PvP servers where the Tera community will be most populated.
Also you should really change the name of your thread.

I have seen a few Eu players on chat (Na server) saying they have better ping than what they had playing on EU servers so you never know.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
Probably in Europe since is owned by Frogster. To keep the pegi 12+ they remove the blood from the game without explanation and announce it. With a delusional company like this, fullfilled by liers with zero communication, is better to move on NA and don't support this dangerous behaviour.
Frogster in the worst company in europe, the bad things i read about them was true in the end, i'm amazed how they work and manage the game, seems they don't care about their own playerbase at all. This is unaccettable.
Don't support Frogster, go for EME if you plan to play this game.
I too was super concerned about Frogster, but outside of hosting the servers and pricing the game, and controlling the ratings, Frogster has little to no input in the content itself. All the changes to Tera go through EME and Frogster just copies the updates which is a relief. W-Tera content changes is mostly be in the hands of EME, where it should belong, because EME has been making amazing changes to the game. These dudes are Hungry!
So don't be too stressed out about playing on EU-Tera, EME is still calling the shots.
Hard to say. I tried the game for the first time this weekend, and overall feelings were positive. I dont mind the grind because it's now fun for the first time in mmorpg history. The overall attitude were positive in the area chat, the times I gave any attention to it, nevermind the couple of "omg WOW IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS CRSAP" I guess it was a shocker that you cant play the game with one hand.
Even if there's nothing else than the combat in this game, it is fun, and I will play TERA at least till GW2 comes out, and I might keep my sub since the combat seems a bit more interesting than GW2 and TERA seems to be a lot more seamless which is big plus in my books, not to mention I love to down hard monsters solo/with small groups, then again both games will have this feature more or less. GW2 being a lot more zoned, but with interesting events... Hmm. Sorry for turning this reply into comparison for these two games but it's because GW2 was pretty much the only game I was really looking forward to, untill now
Edit: Oh wait, I mean, yes, I will play on EU side and see no reason not to, I guess
I do however, think it will be F2P pretty quickly. It will have to be if it wants to compete with F2P Aion in the long-term, let alone make a profit over other games coming later this year.
Though the gameplay is very different, it's going to have to compete with GW2 if it's going to compete with another mmorpg after GW gets released, certainly not Aion, I cant stand playing Aion but TERA is a lot of fun, there's no competition for me at least between TERA/Aion.
How can a game succed in European/American soil as a P2P when they have this race?
Seriously?
PS GW2 is just around the corner
I really don't see the problem its a girl in a pretty dress who can weld a massive sword to cut down all the prudish who cannot control prinal desires but off course GW2 is clean and clear with its design choices..
Sylvari concept art.
This doom and gloom thread was brought to you by Chin Up the new ultra high caffeine soft drink for gamers who just need that boost of happiness after a long forum session.
At the end of the say people like to make noise, as right they should voice thier opinion, but I'd be surprised to see many REALLY leave over this rating/blood issue. Now if a string of mishaps occur showing Frogster as incapable of handling TERA then so be it. I don't really deal with Frogster though so I have no idea.
Wow, how many charges is left on that Elin picture? I mean, I really don't see the point, who cares?

1 - I aggree, i like the Elin race, they are cute and dangerous.
2 - The sylvaris were redesigned and they are not like that artwork, i wanted them like that, but the redesign is good too.
GW2 is NOT around the corner. I also thought when they announced Pre-orders in April that maybe the game had a June release. Now they finally have their first BWE and 2 out of 5 of the main classes aren't even playable! You ever heard of an MMO that's asking for people for pre-purchase money before they even announce a release date?
Yeah Tera's launch is going to go completely uncontested for some time. Maybe WoW expansion, but do we really care about WoW anymore?
The only way that Tera's EU release is going to be affected is if
1.) Players run out of content, which I don't see happening for a good 2-3months thanks to all the content at launch.
2.) The game is horribly broken at endgame, which I can personally vouch is not the case.

I'd predict it to be dead in both US and EU, seeing as it get's equal hate on both sides.
The game itself is pretty mediocre aside from the combat anyway.
Server statistic predictions for Tera EU. Pretty accurate considering it was 95% accurate for WoW over the years. Linkage
ROFLMAO!
Wow you have grudge with this game, don't you?
Equal hate from who? Are you a representative of US EU population?
Not asking for your opinion on the game ^^
Grow up, kid.

The jury is still out on that one, OP.Literally, with the upcoming pending legal battle.

Just one more week! I can't wait. Have fun stemming the tide of haters after they've had a whole NDA-free weekend to try the game.
