I think that this controller scheme might actually work, especially with FPS games. Also, it opens up possibilities for RTS games on the Revolution. If anyone doesn't like the remote, they could just buy the shell so they dont have to hold it like a remote.

The Revolution will stand on the games it puts out, not the controller. Nintendo has to actually make use of the controller, not like the gimmick that was the second screen of the DS.

lol and I thought the PS3 controller was bad. Nintendo does it again. Make a product far worse then what others are making. The last good controller Nintendo made was the SNES controller. They've done nothing but go down hill since the days of the SNES. I use to like Nintendo, but so far they haven't made anything that has appealed to me. As a gamer since those days of the SNES.

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

What about the controller seems bad to you? Since you haven't tried it yet, I'm just interested what you're basing your opinion on. Something besides "it's bad" would serve the thread well, and also show that you have something besides negativity within you.

I just hate when people say something sucks without saying WHY it sucks. Ugh.

In a way, I now don't want to buy the revolution. But then again I am a hardcore gamer and must have all the systems. I don't know if i want to be waving my fat arms all around like a crazy man just to swing a sword.

Luckly though they do have a controller adapter... haha doesn't that seem weird. The controler now is the accessory. Usually it is the gyroscopepaddongle that is the accessory. I tired...

I don't know, back in the day Sony and Sega seemed to think the n64 controller was worth ripping off (analog). If it wasn't for that controller, we might still be playing games using a clunky D-Pad.

Man, the Revolution doesn't seem to have many fans on this board. It's funny when you think about it--the ones prematurely saying the controller sucks are the same ones that rally for innovation and uniqueness in their MMOs. Obviously you guys don't seem to think those two features are important in a gaming console, eh?

The controller intrigues me. I do think it will be awkward for a lot of the games that normally would be ported across all the consoles, but I also think that games designed with it in mind might be really interesting. And in similar fashion to the DS, it might take a while before game makers figure out how to really make good use out of it.

If the rumors that the system will be much cheaper than the other 2, the Revolution might be the first Nintendo console I've had since the NES. It all comes down to the games though :)
