reading through the points made there....Im not seeing the negatives. And I do enjoy me some kitty power.
Would someone actually waste an hour and a half watching this? And they say reading forums is tedious.

I'm playing regardless, there will be some things I like, some I don't. I will have fun with it for a time and it will be worth the money I spent.

Well, they are positive points to me. As others have said, it is HIS opinion and you know what they say about opinions.........
I won't like GW2 because when I play it and enjoy myself, I'll feel so guilty that I'm somehow enjoying this when so many sad internet people disagree with me.
I hate that feeling of guilt.
Somehow I manage to enjoy games I enjoy anyways, even if they get bad reviews (Like Dragon's Dogma). I'll just have to live with this aching, burning sensation in my gut that my enjoyment is somehow spiting the hard work all these people have done on MMORPG.com.
(edit: I feel compelled to mention I'm not even talking about this podcast. From the sounds of it, it's more a 'reasons why some people might not like it and we had to try so hard we used some reasons the game is pretty damn good' type podcast... not going to waste an hour and a half to find out... but I'm talking about other people. Possibly in this topic. Not going to point any fingers.

The 'naysayer' routine is old news, by the way. Why can't people have a balanced approach to reviews? Even the most terrible games have redeeming features.
EDIT: OK, after watching it for a while, I had to stop. They are obnoxious, immature (Hey, Jen, tell us about dodge... or masturbation? *stupid grin*). Argh. Also, they have a fairly opaque view of the game. Dodge makes you invincible for its whole duration?
Worst of all, they say they like the game, they are waiting for it to be released, but they managed to pull 1:40 of nitpicking and WoW comparisons.

The High Adjustment Curve is true. Otherwise, except for the Cash Shop (which isn't P2W so no problem) and Too much Hype (there is a thread about this around here) the others aren't "missing" because Anet NEVER said they will in the game.... so everyone that has been following the game for quite some time knows what the game is all about.
True, some people won't like GW2 because of those things they mention, but that is acceptable, no game is perfect for everyone and those features are EXACTLY what so many people wanted from a game for years (especially the "It isn't WoW"
)
To everyone else posting on this thread.... watch the vid or at least parts of it before posting. Seriously they aren't "bashing" or "hating" the game, unlike some "hate posts" we see around here, they have very valid points.
Block the trolls, don't answer them, so we can remove the garbage from these forums

I wasn't talking about the podcast (I had to edit that in to point it out) Just from reading the topic listing though, WITHOUT watching the video, it sounded like a 'we needed to come up with negatives for a fair and balanced approach so we really reached sometimes' type podcast.
i dont even need to watch the video to realise this is one of them instant grat crowd whining about GW2 not being WoW 2.0 with raids and gear grinds (to some degree, it's there if you want the cosmetics) and not only that... who are you to say what i will or wont like.. pretty much everything you listed there are reasons i do like the game.

I don't know about the poster but the vid isn't. Their points are valid and I agree with them.

There are some non-creature fish, true fishing shouldn't be far away (if they want to implement it, and there is demand for it)
They mention two reasons for "not liking" Guild Wars 2 as their top ones:
"Guild Wars 2 isn't out yet" and
"GW2 has made other games seem sucky"

I find it humorous that when there is even a slight possibility of a hint that there is some thing bad being said about Guild Wars 2. The fanatics leap before they look [at the video] in their zealous crusade to defend the divine honor of Guild Wars 2.

You capitalised WON'T and made the subject YOU instead of I or THIS GUY.

I've always wondered why people aren't allowed like different things. Just imagen how boring the world would be if everyone like the same things. There would be 1 kind of music, which would date back to the cavemen. Also, we would probably still live in caves, since no one would stick out and think differently.
When I talk to people that likes different things, let's say Games, since were on a gaming site. I dont try to convert them by telling them how "bad" and "boring" that game might for ME. And if others try to convert me I just say that its not for me.
I'm short on time here, so have to finnish this now. But I wanna end this with a quote....

So stand up for yourself and be happy with who you are, and what you like. And let others do the same.

Screw GW2. I want it to never be released so the subforum here stays this amusing. Seriously, sometimes this is better than any AAA game could ever hope to be.
edit: Can't wait to get home and watch it.
Ah, I don't take these as too serious considering the podcast is by folks that do a GW2 podcast w/ a GW2 guild.
If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game.
