What I find hilarious about these threads is that this is basically SWTOR all over again. Everyone has decided, for the moment, that GW2 will be the best game they have ever played. They did the same thing for TOR. If you say something negative, they climb down your throat.
I should start listing names of well-known people on these forums that thought TOR was the next Jesus, and bashed all things GW2, and are now here hanging off GW2 nuts in the same fashion.
I won't though, because it's quite amusing to watch all of this (again, and again) with each new game release.
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.
Those so snug and smug in their current clone games will eventually learn to love GW2 or they can stay in whatever clone game they are in and be alone as their guilds players start shifting to GW2 first slowly and then at full charge..
The revolution hasnt even began yet but as we stand on the hill preparing to do battle and looking down upon them we could see that the $15 a month rent a clone industries knees are buckling already as they prepare a white flag plan to surrender to freemium rather than stand and fight..
The revolution hasnt even began yet but you can feel the clone industries knees buckling already..
I don't think guild wars 2 will be a revolution. But if the game is successful, I do think the cash shop will be revolutionary. I mean a lot of games are going f2p because they were greedy and thought they could milk their consumers, but if you do a b2p with a cash shop, it probably would be more successful like Swtor.

I'd pretty strongly disagree with you that GW2 is just like SWTOR. I brought two characters up to 50 in SWTOR, and raided for a time, but even in the first few levels I had a very bad feeling about the engine and many of their design choices. I get no such feeling from now having played all of the beta weekends and stress tests for GW2. SWTOR felt like a lobby based game where you loaded up levels (planets) to play them. GW2 feels like a new, vibrant world.
I think the key difference is that people came to SWTOR hoping that it would be 1, a solid game, and 2. an original feeling mmo. I remember pre-release, it seemed like the space combat and the story driven universe could offer that -- but in the end, the design and lack of content just doomed it I think. Which is a shame, because there were many things which SWTOR did very well.
I don't think GW2 is going to be the answer for everyone looking for a new game. The lack of traditional endgame still is a big unknown, but I would say that after playing for about 7 days total, it's so much more promising than SWTOR ever was.
If you actually watch the video you can clearly see they're obviously fans of GW2 just covering some points why some people might not like it. They arent bashing the game by any means, the title was just trollbait or something hah.
I might not understand well but it;s like they asvertise it! LOL.
I watched until 25 min and some of the things they said was:
--You have to learn how to dodge and get used to it
--Mobs can dodge, so they wondered if the opponent was an enemy player or a real mob.
--You can play as melee and as ranged and its something that u get used to it.
--After GW2 they couldnt play another game.
--The point that even if you can tab enemies and hit multiple of them(with action oriented element) was great
--They never saw an advertisment from arenanert The game became known from players.
Really this is until 25th min they might telling something negative after this. But so far seems like " Why to PLAY GW2" and not "Why NOT to play gw2".
I knew it... Someone posted a full documentary explaining why GW2 is not going to change the world and the Hype Train is way too fast to be put into a full stop right now... Look at the comments that everyone replied to the OP... Derogatory for the most part...
I bet that everyone trashing is going to post different stuff by the end of October... When the train finally derail down the hill...

The communities are garbage and game companies know it, that is why they exploit human psychology flaws... Like the Hype Train!!!!

1:36:00 - Pre-show They talk about themselves for thier fans for the rest of the time why they seriously talk about thier penis??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Anything positive that they could have said was ruined by comparing it to WoW over 20 times and talking super perverted at the end. It was a disgusting experience.
If anyone cared to listen, it was clearly made by players who love the game, and are trying to come up with some reason, any reason at all, why other players may not like the game.
This knee-jerk reaction to dissenting opinion needs to be checked at the door.
I get such a kick out of how people are getting their panties in such a knot over Guild Wars 2. Why does anyone care if I like the game or not? The only reason that people make threads titled in this way is because they are afraid nobody is going to like the video game that they care about so it will become an utter failure while everyone else is playing GW2.
So yes. Some people won't like GW2, and TBH I'm ecstatic about that fact. Those people should find a different game. Hooray for clarity.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.
I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.
Does anyone realize that they made this podcast for the sole reason discuss what SOME people MAY possibly see as faults to GW2. They have compiled a list of the various things people have said and discussed it. They have made other podcasts that talk about how much fun they had in the game and how great it is and wanted to do something outside of the "fanboi" approach and take a different look at it.
Personally, I didn't watch the podcast and probably won't, but I do know the reason for its creation. I am familiar with the Alttabme community because of their showcase of the 50 Char mesmers during the last BWE.

Lol,
This whole thread just seemed like a lot of hot air-
Most of what I seen and heard was more or less opinion. ( Its funny how people fight over opinions)
But I still agree the thread name should be changed, even if its just a copy from another site.
This...OP pretty much admitted this thread was for the lulz a few pages in. However you get your kicks eh mate.

Honestly just sounds like a pissy bitch made this podcast.
I'm not even gonna bother reading the entire thread, I'm just here block list shopping. keep up the good work guys.

What I won't like about GW2:
Playing the game and coming across idiots like the OP.

Too much Hype
Kitty Power
sounds pretty good to me. when are the negative arguments starting again?
guess they just made a typo, this vid was supposed to be named "why you will love Guild Wars 2"
uh and btw, World of Warcraft has a Cash Shop too. doubt you guys actually realized that in your try to argument why we like something or not :P
"believe me, mike.. i calculated the odds of this working against the odds that i was doing something incredibly stupid and i did it anyway!"
What was the purpose of your post?
The same purpose as your post....
