the gw2 community has already made itself look pretty bad.any mature person thats played world of warcraft already can see
It's kind of scary at times. I mean. We're all excited for Guild Wars 2 coming out. But when it comes to people going off like a loose cannon when a negative word is in the same sentence as Guild Wars 2. People need to tone down the fanaticism.
OP, are you satisfied now?
Thanks for being the rolemodel on: "How to look down on the community while flexing my composure"
This just puts you in the same boat as everyone else.
Probably the most hilarious thing about this thread is that the podcast listed in the OP actually doesn't talk about negatives at all in GW2. It's basically a very poorly done piece on personal preference. They have some good points, but on a lot of things (even some of the more positive things), they just don't really seem to know what they are talking about.
Meowhead already made a thread on this called "Why you might like GW2, and why your mileage will vary" and it's done way better.

I got two people who have been lurking since '05/'06 that are responsible for making these awesome podcasts to post on the forums. I'm very satisfied.
I'm just disappointed with the Guild Wars 2 fanatic's over reaction and even posting nasty comments on youtube with out even watching the video. How ever. Then again it proves a point mentioned in the video about mentioning any thing seemingly bad about Guild Wars 2 and fanatics blindly jumping in to defend it.
I thought it would be fun to post this for every one to enjoy. But apparently fanatics don't have the attention span pass the title. Needless to say, it gave these guys who worked on the podcast some exposure for the awesome job they do for those who actually did watch and enjoyed it.

Well the whole point of the podcast in this thread was to be intentionally biased negetively, in general, for everyone to see.
I find this type of argument more constructive as people tend to weigh the negatives more heavily than the positives instead of enjoying a game for what it is and not for what it's missing. After all, it's all the little "things" that add up that makes the fun game or unplayable.

A pod-cast addressing all the negatives in Guild Wars 2.
eather way,ive met people in other mmos who i guess think its a cool thing to play a video game.not like it,and spend there entire day bitching about the game.so yeah,im kinda with Boognishe on ill never really get why you play games you dont like, maybe its just some people are to stupid to quit playing or think its something besides being extremely annoying to bitch about the game 24/7
Every single person in that podcast is a huge GW2 fan. Nobody there is spending time on something they don't like. Good job commenting only on the title while knowing nothing of the video's contents.

Honestly I didn't have the time or patience to watch that rediculously long video on stuff most likely I already know, this is including most of the people here in these forums.
People with any type of interest in games will be in and commenting in every type of media. For all we know, the community in Youtube is exactly the same people who post in these forums. Or not.
Yes, some of 'us' are guilty for automatically assuming this was something when it really wasn't. When you 'simply' post something, people will simply post how they feel in return. We are only human, just accept that.

Oh, and for the people that don't like the cursing and random dirty talks, sorry but we decided after trying to censor our talk we just weren't expressing ourselves as comfortably, hence the disclaimer.

First off welcome out of the closet of lurking :P I totally agree with most of the opinions on the show, especially about the other games that were compared. The mental readjustment people will face to learn how to play Guild Wars 2 is actually HUGE. My wife and I have been gaming together since before we got married and she had a heck of a time learning the movement mechanics of the combat system with dodge.
Now as to why I quoted the above:
Seemed like only one person was "expressing himself comfortably" so I'll leave ya with a last thought.
You'll never lose viewers for censoring speach and content but you definitely will for not censoring it; its up to you whether its worth the loss.
Anyways, we did this podcast because we wanted to try something different. Our other podcasts are full of gushy fanboy love that we wanted to try to devil's advocate approach. I'm glad we did too after the response we've seen on multiple sites. But to be truthful, we wanted to do this topic a couple weeks ago but it took us FOREVER to come up with things we didn't like about the game. It was a stretch. That's why a couple of our topics seem a little out there, but we felt they were validated for our discussion points. If you like it, sweet! I'm glad you did. If you didn't, ok that's not your taste and we understand that.
just wanted to say thanks for the podcast!
i saw this posted on this site early this morning but wanted to wait until i had free time to listen to it. finally found the time and enjoyed it!
wow that was a horrible thing to watch. the host is annoying as hell and cusses non stop, the big furry guy talks over everyone and the shadowy guy just lurks in the shadows. and everytime the girl says anything they laugh at her and make fun of what she says because shes a girl.
oh and I have a cat too that sits in my lap while im on my computer, so its not just a girl thing.

that cartoon thing is due only to the curent economic client, people can't afford to run out en masse to get a new rig every minute so it's REALLY good business to make your game available for as many people as possible.
Pfft GW2 is Amazing, I say that after 2 beta weekends.
However I wonder how low of a Score MMORPG.COM will give the game after giving SWTOR an 8.5.
I mean this site hates games that dont make you do a gear treadmill, what didn't they give EVE a 6 or 7?
Actually this site initially gave SWTOR a 9/10 right after launch, and then changed it after people realized how much the writers on this site didn't really notice out of the MASSIVE amounts of bugs in this title at launch.
Dear Rabid Detractors of GW2, who many see this video as a good point to jump on the "Yeah GW2 sucks!" bandwagon:
In case you are commenting here without having actually watched that video, which based on a lot of posts here I can assure myself you did not...It is not an hour of "This is why GW2 sucks". Instead, the video is actually 4 people discussing many of the more contentious points of the game and refuting a lot of the misinformation out there.

Aren't fanatics rabid by nature?
Any community will have bad apples.
Bigger communities will have a higher absolute number of bad apples.
Not playing a game because of the vocal fanatics is silly - they will always be a small percentage of the total community.
it is even more silly because all of us posting in forums are "fanatics" compared to other players that never visit forums.
