    ....

That is actually not a bad idea at all, adding something similar to GWs "hardmode" were the world (if you flag to enter it) is all max leveled with improved loot and difficulty.... It would give players a reason to visit many of the zones they just spent a few days in and the content is already there, it just need a restat.

But the question is still if Wow once again can pull in players with the launch of a new expansion, just improved graphics wont be enough (never actually met a ex Wow player claiming ugly graphics as the reason he/she quit). But I guess we will see soon enough. :)

    +1

This is what always happening. Ppl get back when an expansion launches and after a month or two either they quit again or hanging around and jumping in Orgrimmar playing mostly in chat channels than in game.

LFR (4 hours max) + 1-2 weekly bosses (10 mins max) + 4-5 daily quests (15 mins max) are the weekly play of 90% of the player base.

Where do you get those stats from re what players do?  It's not how I play, but I am interested to read the stats and source material to see how I compare.

Sry i forgot the weekly runs for old mounts, achievements, old tier sets and ofc  Thunderfury, Sulfuras & Azzinoths...

So i can go down to 89% but no less :)

All Time Favorites: EQ1, WoW, EvE, GW1
    Playing Now: WoW, ESO, GW2

Most of the people who left is not for lack of money or time but because the wow lost its spirit of what I mean by this is that the numbers were growing skills with numbers and gradually was wearing the jeugo pending the outcome of a game today that seems to be pulling their hands, and from what little I have seen in streaming and the patch notes I would say that 80% of the population that left the world of warcraft will return .

All the sheep will return to play it, This is just like a new mmo coming out sheep follow the new shiny, chew up the content in a month or 2 then move on.

That was on the top of my list when i left the game behind, its a bloody shame...

The difference with you is that you never actually "left" the game, you merely are waiting until the next expansion pack... as do a lot of WoW players.  That's not leaving the game.

Those of us that have actually left the game, have no interest in returning.  There really is nothing they could do outside of a 100% rewrite to even get our attention at this point.

Blizzard knows they aren't really getting us back and only cater to the wandering sheep at this point.  They know they will get their sheep back, they also know their sheep will leave once they've "experienced what they care to see" in the expansion.  It's been going on that way for a number of expansions... the only thing that has changed is the amount of time the sheep stay away while wandering.  More and more of the sheep are choosing not to return.

I'll play it. Why? Because it is still a decent game and every time I quit and go to the next new MMO it always turns out to be utter shite and I go back.

I haven't really found a great MMO to settle into and call home since the NGE destroyed SWG but WoW at least is continuous and you know it will always be there like an old friend unlike all the new MMO's that dry up fast and go F2P and become dogs poo.

I now sub for a bit, take a break and go back so I don't burn out as I know there isn't another MMO to satisfy my needs.

I will return to playing on a private Vanilla server. Because retail WoW was bastardized for me a long time ago.
  • ChannceChannce Member CommonPosts: 570

What exactly do you mean when you say "WoW is fun for MOST people"?  most people who already play WoW?  Most people who play any MMO? most people in the world?

I kind of doubt that "most" people think WoW is fun.

When I said i had "time", i meant virtual time, i got no RL "time" for you.

They should send beta invites to those players that recently ended their subs.  But make it so you can only do the beta if you are a current sub.

A lot of damage has been done to the game on Ghostcrawlers watch but who knows now hes gone things may change for the better . The biggest issue I have is that I refuse to spend money on an expansion about Pandas so unless there is some way I can bypass that expansion and just get WOD I wont be returning . I have plenty to interest me elsewhere anyway but it would be nice to hear that WoW finally was turning a point and becoming challenging and fun again .

Lets face it if it could be close to what it was like in its first 4 years even today there is no mmo that has come close to it in terms of concept and polish . up until 2008 I thought I could quite happily be playing it for a decade or more .

    So many wrong turns :(

Blizzard has a sale at moment - can buy MOP cheap

in addition, WOD includes one free boost to 90  (bypassing MOP)

    I've returned already.

I've been subscribing for 3 months already and pre-ordered the new expansion.

I passed on both ESO and Wildstar, I am sick and tired of giving my money to bland WoW copycats.

If I have to play a WoW style MMORPG, I might just give Blizzard my money.

Only Archeage could save me from  another  year of WoW.

    meh... i quit after Wot:LK

good friend of mine went back to it.   kept taking about it like it wasn't an old dried turd.    I for some unknown reason, bought cata and MoP  ... even with my 80's  it was mind numbing,  coming back to the game.  thinking of the questing just to get to another gear grind.

on my mage.  that wasn't at old max lvl.   the prospect of trudging through WotLK content,  and then cata, and then MoP  was just too much.   I paid for the expansions,  didn't get a free month.  and stopped playing after like three days.

Playing ESO now.   which isn't that great a game,   but it looks nothing like WoW.   Wildstar looked like more fun but looks exactly like WoW.

    never again

I'll go back to see how the expansion is.

Will mostly be looking at garrisons and new models.

That is worth considering then if it is possible to bypass MOP .  Would that actually work though ?

I've tried a bunch of mmorpgs old and new, WoW is the best and still is, I just don't want to play it anymore. Unfortunately everything else compared to wow sucks, so I sold off my computer equipment. Combine the wow burnout with all the pissed poor money schemes pc gaming seems to welcome with open arms, the scene just stinks, hey one man's trash is another's treasure.

Their MMO, while others are fun, is still the best.

Best "MMO" does not mean much if there are other more fun games.

I enjoyed my time in WoW, but that is over. I just have no interest in this next expansion. Right now I am playing Wildstar and will likely be playing it for the next 6 months or so, after that I will just take a break from MMOs until something drastically new comes to the market. I'm tired of the theme park treadmills, Wildstar is good because of the combat, but I'm sure that after the newness wears off I will find myself once again bored of MMOs.

Please for the love of God, can someone please make a decent sandbox? I just want to farm moisture again. I don't need to be "the" hero in another themepark.

I'll return because I almost always played WoW. Because I cant find any good mmorpg.

That is not a good reason. You don't have to play a MMO.

I loved my time in WoW but when they essentially took away customization with the removal of the talent trees (they needed to expand, not slash those) they took me away too.

Even in my themeparks i need to be able to customize my character and to me the more theorycrafting, the better.

i wouldnt even put WoW in the top 3 themeparks anymore, especially since Wildstar feels so polished after only a month.  I'd play Wildstar, rift, or EQ2 over WoW for a themepark experience.

RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

That! I've now played WoW for 6 days and it become so boring after that time, so fucking stereotype over and over again. Glad I went back to Wildstar even the pve is better there.

People will come out of the woodwork like roaches when WoD releases, question always remain who will stay past a month or two.  Hell just look at all the accounts created the past week when people caught wind of beta key giveaways... like G.I.s on prostitutes.

    Wow ,,,

This thread reads like a bunch of crack addicts who have been locked up on drydock and recently released, and now feening for that long anticipated hit.  They used to call Everquest "Evercrack" but Everquest addicts had nothing on these WoW addicts.

I can literally visualize all of you scratching and shaking as you type.

The game you are looking for requiring no PvE completion and where you can just jump in and start mindlessly shooting at people is that way - >>>>

    ... it's called an FPS.

Quit ruining the MMORPG genre with your constant "PvE grind" whines.
