AA lost me at race cars, so this is just confirmation that I'll never play the game. Sadly was looking forward to it, but experience has taught me not to get my hopes up too high these days when it comes to the competency of MMO developers. The added benefit of not getting ones hopes up is that you're not as easily sucked into the hype, and out of pure excitement, rather than the merits of the game, you mistakenly buy it.
That's what I call culture difference. Koreans doesn't care to keep their games to set style,as long the new item is "cool" it's all good!
Why related this to be a Korean game?
The giant WoW have helicopters and chopers and i dont thing is Korean.
In the end i dont care much, what i want is Trion/XlGames remove all hackers from game, with skateboards or not.
This is such a minor thing
I don't play WOW don't know crap about it's lore, or what they include and how they include it in the setting. IF it's out of place it's out of place, and it's only a minor thing to those who really don't care about those things. Personally I find setting and what comes with it to be very important to a RPG experience. IF there is something off about it or it doesn't portray the atmosphere it's trying to well, it's not an RPG I'll have much fun with.

Fair enouph i and understand that. Was just point that is not only Korean games that put this kind of stuff on games like some ppl have posted using a WoW example (was what come to my mind atm).
People like diferent "atmospheres" like you mentioned, what is weired for some is total normal for others, theres is no rigid line about fantasy.
About the "minor thing" yes its my personal opinion, i understand others might not like it but look at this as a game breaker is exagerating considering the game have tractors, clipers up side down, cars and submarines.
Originally posted by DMKano The responses in this thread are pretty funny. Over the most meaningless feature that may not ever see the light of day in the west. World immersion is not insignificant to many people. You're pathetic for thinking you know what is important and what is not for everyone else. When I play a sci-fi game, I expect a sci-fi setting, the same goes for horror and high fantasy. This would be jarring to me even in a steampunk setting.
WOW some of you guys really makes me cringe, you can cast fireballs out of your hands, turn invisible, fly on gliders, robot mounts, Tech cities. And a skateboard is the OH NOS. First of all they made the game how they wanted it to be and are absolutely in their right to, They never stated they would follow any of your made up rule sets. There is Cat people all sorts of crazy monsters and what not, but a wooden board with wheels or whatever destroys everything? I really can't understand that western entitlement to dictate how other people should design their games. Get over it already or simply stop playing the game like some of you are proposing to do SMH.

Originally posted by grimal I don't care what fantasy MMO it is. The inclusion of this (if they do it) is just lame. I would quit any fantasy MMO I play if they added stuff like this.
How can you quit something you don't play?
Again as you said "if they do it" - very slim chance of this making it into EU/US release.
XL is all about making a profit - if a feature would result in decreased profits in the west (remember that they are making a cut from players in every region) - they wont do it
Korean players likes are very different from western playerbase.
I said I would quit any Fantasy MMO that did this. The current fantasy MMOs I play are : ESO, LOTRo (rarely, but still). If either one included this, I would absolutely quit as it would completely break the immersion for me.
I have to wonder sometimes about your persistent white knighting of this game. You claim to have played for years yet with the rampant cheating and botting apparently being reported you still come and defend this game. I have to wonder if you have some sort of ulterior motive here (perhaps financial???) Are you in any way affiliated with XLGames or Trion or any company working for them?

My thoughts exactly. I come from a PnP tabletop background. There are things that break the immersion of a game.

Who's telling them what to put in? People are discussing how they feel about the addition ( if it is brought to the west). They are free to add what they want, just as others are free to share how they feel about that addition. I just don't understand why folks like yourself even visit forums, if what others discuss bothers you so much, stay clear of just about any forum...
