    Agreed.

I have not stepped foot in one 5man dungeon yet.  I played WoW during vanilla and early TBC to know what its like to spam LFG, and actually meet at the dungeon.  When they put in a dungeon finder, unlike many, I welcomed it.  Its so much easier.  And I am now spoiled.  I refuse to teleport 10 years back in time to spamming chat for a group.

Once they make the group finder a valuable, WORKING, rewarding tool, I will use it.  Until then, no group content for me...which is fine.  Im leveling alts upon alts at the moment.  When I run out of things to do or get tired of leveling...and finally urge for some group content, if the dungeon finder is still not working, I'll give it a week or two and then leave.  In my mind, all that could be accomplished given my time restrictions and refusal to spam for LFG.

With that said, I did leave the "glorious" WoW expansion after one month to come back to ESO(sparingly).  Playing more D3 at the moment, but Im sure I'll be playing ESO for a long while.

    Dear Zeni,

Please fix the foundation before building a higher pyramid.

    Zenimax is not Bethesda.

Also, this was created by Zenimax Online so, though it's possible they won't do any more mmo's, usually online games have a multi-player component.

well according to the link only WoW made more cash.  Now I could believe a site that use analytics or I could believe people that use things like "I believe", "I think", or "In my opinion".  Tough choice.

I hope the ESO devs read and take this to heart, the open letter is spot on.

Its especially hard to fathom that Cyrodill still hasn't received any real updates, let alone the Imperial City.

that is laughable...you think this is the one market where the majority of people research before buying.  Hell people on this site do not do it...look at all the complaints.  People buy because of marketing and word of mouth.  Skyrim because popular because it became mainstream and you have to pay it or be outside.  Morning show DJ's on the radio were talking about the game.  If ESO gets that same hype then it will sell big.

Hey I'm all about sources too.  Which link shows ESO being #2 in the western market?  Also, is it referring to sells, subs, boxes sold, bad reviews? Sorry I jumped the gun with the "LOLWUT" pic.  I have just never heard of ESO being number 2 at anything.

First link up there said behind WoW ESO make 111 mill and SWTOR 107.  there were MOBA's and hearthstone ahead of them, but those were the MMORPG's.

No I agree with that actually, by just like you said.  However, in my opinion the console crowd is less opt to research their games before buying due the very reasons I mentioned.

Well that didn't take long to get the usual suspect trolling another ESO article with their pet off-topic shit. Some of the more obvious ones may whine about "yet another ESO article" but they can't seem to stay away from them.

Good article Ryan. Can't disagree with any of it.

To me it's pretty obvious that with all the recent announcements, ZOS has tipped their hand about where their interest lies. We better start getting used to being secondary to the console market because that's going to be their focus for the foreseeable future.

We're never going to see the second, PVP part of the justice system unless the console players want it. Same for the removal of VR ranks.

I'm convinced that the plan now is to launch on the consoles with both the VR and CP systems as they are in 1.6. All of the abilities and the whole game is balanced in 1.6 around having both systems in place. Removing VR levels will take yet another wholesale re-balancing pass of the same magnitude as the changes in 1.6... and the balance changes in 1.6 are huge, took a lot of work and will take several months to fine tune. I seriously doubt they'll want to do it again any time soon.

Re: Imperial City... that big hole in the middle of Cyrodiil doesn't bother them? Enough already and do what was announced in 2013. Do they think the console users won't immediately say "WTF is that hole in the middle we can't go into?"

And the LFG tool continues to be useless... console players will also notice how useless as soon as they hit level 10 on their first day. There are 3 dungeons per level range that reward you the first time you run them with a skill point and rare item. Yet, after you do one of them, you can't queue for the other 2 you want to do. The choice is all (including the one you already did) or one of them. Not a huge deal when "all" means 3... but by the second tier "all" means 6... then 9... then 12. Is it really that hard to add tick boxes so you can queue for the 2 or 3 you're actually interested in doing? It's not like every other LFG tool in every other MMO doesn't let you do that...

New additions like Wrothgar are fun and all but how about actually just completing the things that have ostensibly been in the works since 2013?

    I agree^

The only thing worse than fanbois is antifanbois. Why even waste the effort to click on a game you hate and then the effort to leave a moronic snarky comment about said game you hate/distain. Its just dumb.

Vet ranks are here to stay likely. I have a feeling phase 4 of the champ system is never coming.

The LFG tool desperately needs a incentive to use the tool.

And its definitely disappointing that we are not going to get a content update with actual things to do for another 6 months. What's the point in subbing when the main benefit of subbing is getting access all the paid content that doesnt exist? Seems like they are going to miss my 90 bucks over those 6 months and thats even if I sub when the first payable content comes out instead of just buying it. I can't imagine its going to cost more than about 10-20 dollars.

This is why I put together this suggestion on a PVP battlegrounds framework, because I honestly feel that "looking into it" means they don't know what to do.

Well I wish there were no more articles about it, the game can stay playable for people that like it.

If you don't like it, why did you click it? Very weird people...

    That isn't quite right

Lineage 1 is an MMORPG. It is also old as dirt, yet still made more money in 2014 according to the revenue link.

Maplestory, believe it or not, is an MMORPG also. That is also ahead of ESO.

Dungeon Fighter Online is an action, sidescrolling, beat-em-up style MMORPG.

There you go. 4 MMOs ahead of ESO. While I do expect these to change for 2015, I don't know how ESO will hold up.

MMO's played: Ragnarok Online (For years), WoW (for a few weeks only), Guild Wars, Lineage 2, Eve, Allods, Shattered Galaxy, 9 Dragons, City of Heroes, City of Villains, Star Trek Online (Got someone ELSE to pay for it), Champions Online (Someone else paid), Dofus, Dragonica, LOTRO, DDO and more... A LOT more. I've played good AND bad. The bad didn't last long. :P

The fact that the Looking For Group tool was never a huge priority to have working and implemented is bizarre.

The fact that all players utilise their "megaserver" technology, you'd think that a working group finder that actual utilises said tech would make it incredible efficient. But no, it has never worked, ever.

I'm convinced they have at least two, possibly three huge content updates ready to go. We'll likely see the first two six months apart, just to "test the waters", depending on consumer reaction will determine whether they release them in a shorter space of time as console sales stagnate.

Also, the group finder suggestions that Ryan mentioned are brilliant, I'll say they're mandatory to be implemented. The fact that everyone has had to adapt to not using the group finder tool is poor, going even further that they even posted a video demonstrating how to use the group finder tool, which, incidentally, has never worked. Group finder tool needs less of a robotic UI and a more ES GUI so it's memorable, it sticks in peoples minds and it's extremely easy to stumble-onto, unlike how many levelled to max level and didn't know it's existence.

Solid article though. Shame I only log-on to do the Undaunted gold key and log out as I wait for the Imperial City and an actual gear chase without piss-poor 14th Century RNG rolls.

Just a remark on notorious Superdata estimate - It can be wrong both ways. But lots of people seems to be auto-assuming that the number is too big and (just in case) very often "accidentally" lowering it to 700 000 (going generously "up" to 750 000 on rare occasions).

It happens on and on, a very interesting phenomenon to watch :)
