$30 is the same amount of money you would spend on two months subscriptions. If you think the enjoyment you get from the game is equivalent of those two months you kinda saved up to buy that outfit, especially if you plan to keep on playing.
Personally I don't care enough of my game look to spend $30 on costumes but then female online friends comment on my lack of fashion in games so who am I to judge.
Iselin: And the next person who says "but it's a business, they need to make money" can just go fuck yourself.
Someone said that City of Heroes/Villains had free costumes but they also had a subscription. It was much, much later that they became a F2P game. It is unfair to compare a B2P with what options games with subs offer before they went F2P.
Enjoy your purchase and don't regret it . Think of it like a sub .I am enjoying the game a lot but very confused. Have spent more time reading up than playing.
Thanks for the link to the available costumes. I am definitely buying some to support this game.
I'll never understand the fascination of character clothing and cash shops (or cash shops at all really)
Though, I suppose I also don't understand coming to a forum and starting a discussion on wether you should actually buy an outfit or not, but here we are. O.o
I've looked at all the outfits released for the game and this one seems like it's the best out of all of them, including future ones from Korea we may get, so if I'm going to get an outfit, this is probably the one. I really like how sexy and stylish it is, and the staff is just freaking awesome.
But the expensive outfits are one of my few beefs with the game. I held out against buying the game for months mostly because I felt the way they do outfits is unfair to players.
So I'm relying on you, mmorpg.com forums, to convince me not to spend $30 on one outfit and two weapon skins, usable on only one character. Feel free to mention that awakenings are coming at some point soonish which will change the class (into apparently a pet class???), and I might not even like playing witch anymore at that point.

Remember the days when you wanted gear you had to find a group?
Yeah, and you could pay groups to carry you through the dungeons and get gear while mostly afk. Good times.
This used to happen as far back as Everquest. I was with our guild leader and he was boasting about how he was making the guild richer by making people from guilds who could not clear certain plane raids pay to come on our raids. Glad when the guild died but I doubt he was the only guild leader doing this. The absolute worse thing was the player only got considered for his class drop after the guild had equipped ours. This is what happens when guilds control a zone.
He used speak badly of the Dark Brotherhood then a guild on Bertoxxulous but at least they never did , as they allowed me to attend their raids on Plane of Fear even when I was not in their guild. What was more awesome was they had already equipped their guilds and had these runs on the planes for fun and allowed other people from smaller guilds to come and get a chance at the Planar loot.
There were great things about Everquest but the way guilds and groups controlled the spawn and camping really made me ill.
That's how asian games are on west. Same outfit sell for about 5$(if we convert won or yuan or yen to usd) on asian market but is sold for 5 to 10 times more in west. You just have to deal with it.
Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.
I see people with outfits everywhere too, so I'm no the only one they got.
Just about every female character in my guild is wearing it, not to mention the many people around the warehouse and marketplace. So you're definitely not the only one that caved! xD

Forgot to add the reasl reason why you shouldn't buy this costume - in certain lighting and due to pleating and transparency of the pants -
the front looks like a BUTT (yes that's a tamer but the pants are the same style)
Omg it does, that is hilarious .
Here is your reason not to buy it.
LOL. That does kind of, but that character is wearing like the darkest underwear. No underwear (the standard quasi-skin colored kind) doesn't really show up much.
You can also use the model swap mods and get any look you want for free: https://www.undertow.club/threads/black-desert-how-to-swap-armors-costumes-and-weapons.8606/ (some NSFW stuff on this site!) don't worry it's just a minor edit on some files and undetectable they also said before on the forums they will not ban people using mods (normal mods that don't give a advantage to players and not cheats ofc) and this uses the same method as the korean/japanese voice swap mods so it's safe. It's even possible to go crazy and mix and match costumes even from different classes, there are also edited special costume mods and you can dye everything it's really cool im using it since the game came out, the only downside is only you can see it.

I've spent far more than that on a single use outfit on others games.
Here is how I look at it,
Do I like the outfit? Do I like the game? Do I like the company running the game and do I want to support it/them? Can I afford it and not have to eat noodles all week?
If all the above are yes then I get it. Spend your money on stuff you want, as long as it makes you happy that's all that matters. One day you'll be dead and some loser relative or kid will waste it on pot anyway (and if that's where it goes it should be on pot for you!).
Hell I had a friend years ago that always mocked me for spending so much money on games, meanwhile they would buy clothes with designer brands for 10x the price of normal clothes of similar quality and would get the latest Iphone for no damn good reason at all.
You shouldn't buy outfits/boosts/whatever simply because they look good. You should buy it to reward the devs for creating the game.
Ask yourself:
Do I have fun playing this game? If yes, look at the next question. If not, quit.
Did the content I experienced warrant me paying the developers $30? If yes, buy $30 worth of Pearls and spend them.

You already said the best reason in the title. It's one outfit usable on one character that costs $30. I don't think anyone can come up with any better reasons than that to not do it.

By far the best solution using it myself for months now, honestly they should just implement a transmog system like literally every other game has and not force people who don't want to run around in in rags to spend an outrageous amount on a single char costume.
Not gonna lie, that outfit, the character, and especially the staff - looks awesome! However, maybe hold out for a sale. Save some money.
It does? Looks just like every other costume I see in any game to me???? Heck the beginner ones look better then this dribble...... Who came up with this hot mess lol...
That's a big negative bro. The graphics alone are set up to appeal to the masses next year and the following years, according to their future computer specs.
Say 2 years from now, you're looking for a sandboxy MMORPG with amazing top-notch graphics- it's probably going to be BDO.
I am not sure which is sadder that people cannot accept that others like different things or that one is so downright envious that you must come on to a thread about one person's choice to buy a costume in a B2P game which has no subscription to ridicule or put that person down and make them feel guilty somehow for not ravaging the game. As gamers you should celebrate the fact that others are finding games to suit them and instead people just are generally negative and even go as far as to question the intellect of someone for liking a game and with malice aforethought peppering the thread with condemnations of Black Desert with thinly veiled justifications of trying to advice others to steer clear of the game.
I'm not only speaking of this thread but the general uncharitable and vicious mindset of the disenfranchised that put the blame of their unhappiness squarely on those of us who happen to support the games they think are threatening their gaming ecosystem. It is a sad state indeed that posters have been reduced to this form of attack out of spite.
Yesterday while looking for lead and zinc nodes I was killed a lot and also just in awe of how beautiful the world of Black Desert is and I want to support the game and will be purchasing one suit every couple of months together with some pearl shop coins I get from their rewards which would mean for my 4 alts about 60 Euro since I can buy one suit with the rewards. You may scoff and say I'm a fool but guess what I am not the one unable to be happy for others but find themselves in the unenviable position of anger and resentment that others do not want to condemn this game and find it fun. I love the game for the ability to play it the way I'm doing and the exploration is such a huge bonus in what is a beautiful landscape. Enjoy your mean, bleak, self imposed exile from the genre for not having the sense to simply enjoy what is before you.
Holden that is very pretty might I add even with all that blood (ew). Does it come in different colours ?

All the outfits come in one standard color. But they can be dyed completely.

Spending money on virtual cosmetics always seemed absurd to me, regardless of cost.
Achieving cool looks on my chars was always an important goal in MMOs. You worked hard to obtain a set and when you showed it off to other players it actually meant something. It meant you'd put a lot of time and effort into gearing up, it meant your toon was powerful, that you were experienced and that you should be taken seriously.
Now looking cool means absolutely nothing, zero.
For me all these MMORPGs that do cosmetic cash shops are not only shooting themselves in the foot, but the entire genre as well. If you remove esthetic progression, you eliminate a huge reason why people get hooked to these games in the first place. This is a very bad, desperate and self destructive move from the MMORPG game developing community, IMO.
