I think they want to make a pvp rvr game that has a lot for pve for players. I think they don't want to have to really go into a huge pve focus yet realize that their game could attract some pve oriented players so they implemented this items to do two things ...
Basically what they are saying is we know the pvp community wont be able to keep the game a float so we threw in some cheap pve to get more people and hopefully more money to fund the real core game....pvp.
I couldn't remember what this game was offering so i went to steam to find out why i was interested in this game because it had been so damn long ago when i first heard about this game.
It seems like this is a faction vs faction, guild vs guild PVP game with some PVE elements but not as much as other games that focus more on PVE.
I don't mind these type of games one of the games i really liked was Allods which has these features.
So i don't understand why people are saying they are PVE players and want to play this game because it seems it was advertised as a PVP game.
There has been games over the years i haven't played for certain reasons but i didn't complain on a forum i just found another game.
The best response i could find in the thread was this one.
I don't need to watch those videos i currently play both KR and JP, So i play it endgame for myself.
There are a total of like 5 or 6 dungeons with the highest level dungeons having 1 time entry limit per day and ofc 10 man raid which you will all be doing so u can get geared up for PVP.
Other than that you will just be doing mainly daily quest for materials that also goes towards gears for PVP , There is a lot more PVP focused stuff to do and once u pass level 30 that will be the majority of what you will have to do.
Also there is no PVP gear anymore just 1 type of gear, you would know this if you actually played and stop using old outdated info like all the other people who don't even know what they are saying because they haven't played.
The Game was heavily and mainly designed around PVP and this has always been the case whether it was old version or rebuild and this is no secret so the delusional people need to stop coming expecting something else or trying to change it .

What does it matter if someone is a PVE person and wants to play PVP focused endgame mmorpg.... I am a PVE person and i completely enjoy BDO every single day all day long doing life skills , leveling and working on my gear. If they are complaining about the content they full and well know what they're heading into with it being a pvp focused game. They should probably find another game if the PVE content within that game isn't good enough to keep them playing, Instead of demanding a complete change. Do i think most games should have plenty of content for both yes because we have plenty of players for each.... And i personally think they would do alot better but its the korean business model right now.

Well people are complaining about an item being sold to make people immune from PVP but the game is mainly about open world faction vs faction PVP.
I don't know why they're adding the item in the first place if it was my game i wouldn't.
There is nothing wrong about a person who says they're a PVE player and wants to play the game, But when they start complaining about PVP parts of the game then that doesn't make sense.
It's fairly clear to anyone who goes looking for information that this is a PVP focused game with some PVE, A lot less PVE as say FFXIV.
So if people don't like open world, faction vs faction PVP then obviously this game isn't for them, There are others games which have plenty of PVE content and don't have open world PVP.

I think the point here is not changing or removing the item, or making
the game PvE, just leave it how it is and don't try to monetize it weird ways just for one market.
It's such a gear centric game, so there will be a huge advantage to there person who is higher geared than you and they can halt your progression if they choose. I don't think there is fear at all, annoyance perhaps? Like in BDO someone with TRI gear against someone with +10 gear there winner is clear. Western gamers tend to be a bit ore angsty than in Korea so you are gonna get PKd for no reason other than breathing. You may not always need or want to use the potion, but I'm pretty sure there will be times when it may come in handy.
In the Korean version you can pretty much run around red all day, few worries about being attacked by a random PK griefers unless you did something to warrant it. In relation BDO was the same way in Korea. Plus you had the level 49.99 black spirit quest to unlock PvP, but it was turned off for Western players for some reason and PvE players complained. It took them a year before they reverted it to the same system they have on Korean servers and there have been few complaints since. PvE players can stay level 49.99 and do their life skills in peace while everyone else plays other parts of the game. Most people like myself have owPvP mains and low level life skill/mule alts anyways which is how it should be.

Well at first i was ok with the item because i was under the assumption it would be like the japan version which makes you immune for 10 - 15 mins but the cool down is 1 hour, well that is what someone said on steam so i hope that's correct.
So i hadn't read the article properly before i made my first post and the one in this version isn't going to have a cool down, So it gives the impression that people can use it to stay immune permanently which i hope isn't the case.
So i don't know how this is all going to play out because the game is supposed to have areas with world bosses in them and it's supposed to be a PVP area because they drop items to upgrade your runes i think that's what someone said.
This is what the game is supposed to be like when you fight a world boss.
So unless people can't use the scrolls in these areas which would make more sense because they are instanced.
Once again why force PVP on those who dont want it? So many of us just want a great PVE game and we get PVP after PVP.
Once again, they aren't forcing pvp on those who don't want it. They created a pvp game for those people who want a pvp game.
I think for people who are strictly PvE the problem a lot of them have is that there are literally no real decent buy to play (newer) PvE MMOs with cool graphics set in a nifty openworld setting full or true life skills with a decent trading system, action combat ect. It's mostly just western made Indie games that really aren't all that great. Nothing opeworld on this scale. Honestly I think a lot of them are roleplayers too. It's not always just as easy as "play another game" This is pretty much why they always post about it, there is nothing good. Most of what is out there is shitty thempark on rails PvE crap.
PvE only is just not the way some of these sandbox MMOs from the East are made. The real difference is their communities tend to be less toxic cesspools full of griefers who just like easy kills, so those OwPvP systems work. You can literally run around most of the day red, and as long as you aren't stealing someones grind spot, in a war zone or being a dick, most people leave each other to their questing and gathering. Westerners aren't usually as respectful, it's just a cultural difference.
Back in the day we had SWG, an openworld sandbox MMO with life skills, QoL items, PvE, PvP and it all co-existed just fine for the most part. We all got along, if you wanted PvP you could PvP easily, if you wanted to make blue milk all day in you house on Tattooine and never talk to anyone, you could. On weekends when your guildes were on it was fun to PvP through Deathwatch Bunker, or fight from Bestine to Anchorhead. Some of the coolest people I knew only played SWG to craft, some weren't even Star Wars fans, but they game offered what they wanted.
I think it's something people want badly enough, maybe someday there will be another game like SWG that includes everyone, but this isn't it.
@Tiller exactly why I played and loved BDO. I never complained about the PvP and I just stayed within the limit that allowed me to be safe, I enjoyed the other things BDO offered that did not include the PvP. I really don't think anyone has the right to tell me what game I should play and how I should play it. Then if I play it and if I want to since I am participating I can also complain about the PvP. That's my right as a player.
These days people like to shut others up by telling them they cannot complain about something. Well if I'm playing and paying then I damn well can. Deal with it.

LOL can barely tell the difference between Bless and BDO from those vids , same shit different name ..
