What really scares me is that I never played the NGE. I quit for the last time during the CU phase. If it was free I would actually like to try the NGE just to see how bloody awful it really is.

What SOE doesn't get:

You had bugs, you didn't fix them. That was the problem with game.

One other thing that suprises me that people don't get upset about, changing to the village from the hologrind. I was furious. I had a lot of time invested in that path and I got screwed. I saw people unlock on their 5th prof. I went 22 and still didn't hit it. But as I neared the end *BAM* they changed the rules.

I am certain a bunch of us were screwed by the village. It wasn't a complete lost though. By the time the village hit, I only had one profession to go. I quit 1 week after the CU was released. So many better games out there one has to be extraordinarily foolish to play this hellish tradegy.

SOE is feeling the wrath of consumers for the shit they pulled ...

people are just sick of the way they try to squeeze every last dollar out of the people playing their games ... and sick of the way they used people's love for star wars against them by price gouging and raping them through special " offers" obtainable by only obsessively and pointlessly buying other box copies of the games ( alternative characters anyone? special vehicles anyone? new content anyone? )

The only problem is after a while ( like after post #203, I would think) no one (especially SOE) cares and it still stinks to high heaven?

One of my guildies unlocked quicker than i did with the village and he didnt even hologrind.

I wouldnt say i hate soe or swg ... however having said that the so called bugs that soe/swg developers claimed to have fixed (walking through walls and shooting through walls) has not wich promts me to wonder does soe/swg really care about us the consumers who play the game or are they just interested in popin out another packed expansion to appeal to the ppl who do/dont play swg or anyother game for that matter

My first post at mmorpg, yay! I thought it fitting it should be in this thread.

I'm a vet from the initial release of swg, and my account has been cancelled since shortly after the NGE. I could rant on and on about my hard feelings towards what happened with the game, and how we were treated, but I won't bore you, since it is nothing new.

But I will say in all honesty, yes, I am still every bit as angry now as I was 7 months ago at both SOE and LEC for what they have done/allowed to take place. For the record, I'm a full supporter of Pre-CU. I also take great delight in reading anything anti-nge associated, and the general demise of the game at this point. Just biding time until either classic servers come out, or they pull the plug. (or the emu's prevail)

One thing that has always irked me, primarily in the official forums, is when people rant and rave about how something is or is not going to happen, like they have been to the future and seen it with their own eyes. I want to specifically point out the pro-nge people who try to state as fact that the nge is staying, or the emu's will fail, blah blah blah... Can I state for certain if there will be classic servers or that the emu's will be a success? No, I cannot.

But I will however, laugh in earnest at these people when it happens.

Currently I've been playing DDO after a long gaming spree of WoW. I got into a conversation with a fellow guildie about SWG back in the day... Man I really miss this stupid game! I loved the crafting OMG was it fun. The player created economy where knowing a good Xsmith was actually worth something. (Although the loot totally sucked until the Genosian Labs, which was awesome!) I loved Player Cities and Bases. All these new games are coming out with all the good stuff being instanced or like in DDO everything is instanced. I reallly miss PVPing in the middle of the Warren or the Genosian Labs! Master Swordsmen how I miss thy head slice or whatever it was called, yes! I miss being head chopped for 1200 pts of damage! Yeah the missions sucked and the quests were garbage but SOE was on the right route when they started adding content like the G Labs and then it came, the dreaded CU! I'll miss you SWG you were so fun

I find myself watching boards, reading news about new games on the horizon and hoping for one game with all of the options and versatility of SWG. I see people all around me everyday playing one game just to pass the time until XX game comes out. I feel that we had XX game and it was totally fubar'd by SOE. SWG was so close to being the ultimate and now it's nothing, just a memory. I'm hopeful that WAR will be great, whether I can swallow another Dorf, Orc, Ranger, Fighter, Elf suck ass medieval game is still to be seen. I really want a decent Sci FI game, I really want Pre CU, Pre suckage SWG.

Me angry whit SOE ? no im not, im angry whit the player's STILL SUPORTING SOE, my first MMORPG it was SWG, i start playing on beta phase III .... i leave only when they start making changes in the game ( first one was messing up whit the group's on dant ) this was they first change and they never stop from there.

Im still loking for one mmorpg or game like the Old SWG that i realy miss it, me and other 20 friend that i have on SWG . If SOE change it back we all go back too. I miss SWG, is comunity, the oportunite to make true the game alone griding, i miss the old jedi system when i start to think to go to jedi they change that too ... all ready was on 10 profesion master all the craft ones that i have spend so many time planing it ( gathering resorces from the havester's ... )

Please give us back the old SWG

SOE makes me want to do awful things for the rest of my life so that I get sent to the worst part of hell. That way I can hunt them down and beat the **** out of those ****ing ****** for all of eternity.

you know, i thought about writing a rant for the longest time. But after reading 44 pages of hate, i thought thats enough for me. The real problem with all this is the simple fact that so many people just plain love star wars and everything star warsy. I am one of those people who absolutely adored all the fun times this game offered me since beta. who loved pvping randomly on a hill with a bunch of people ive never met, with a hate for imperial troopers like me. Now that was funtimes. Sadly, even in the early days, with so many people complaining on the forums, I still loved the game. There were so many little things that made it fun and interesting. Oh yes there were bugs, plenty of them, but there was alot of fun too and great memories as well. We all miss those days, we all who complained back then, probably wonder, if we hadn't said so much, maybe they would have just kept it going and fixed the bugs, like they said they would. Instead, they built a brand new game called SWG and now no one is playing it. Maybe Lucas, will do right and end the misery of this. Maybe get bioware and NCsoft, to create a brand new Galaxies unlike the one out now. After all he has the money and lots of us would come back to play SWG in a heartbeat, if it was remotely like the old days, with tons of professions and those fixes we all wanted. Alas, I think it is all just a pipe dream. If Sony ever realised what they did to us and infact, for us to write so many awful things about this game, is simply because we all actually hold close and dear, those brief moments of joy, in the early days SWG gave us. I know, I swear, like many of you, I have tried every single dam MMORPG since SWG and my hunger for fun and joy SWG gave me is being unfulfilled on all of the other games. So my anger just gets worse and worse as my need to play online with others still goes unfulfilled. We all miss SWG, we all hope for a miracle, sadly, I must say we have to accept, it will never happen. We have to muddle through all the crappy mmorpg's out there until a good one may come along. I myself have been playing EVE and love that, but am getting bored. I will hope beyond hope that someday soon, SOE infact does actually lose SWG and Bioware does infact let the game be what we all wanted, but even so, that may be too late. So I will wait and play garbage like the rest of you until 2007 when Star Trek Online comes out. I pray they don't use SWG as a model and maybe us Sci-fi fans can finally get a mmorpg we can enjoy.
