I agree with the author. As MMO's evolve I want more customization options, not less. I'm gonna buy TOR but reading these articles I'm starting to think it's getting too dumbed down. No day/night cycles, no swimming, now limited weapon choices? Mak…
They had a good idea but this game needs a LOT of work. I bought it and played several months. I found the graphics and animations to be sub par by mmo standards and character customization was very limited. SOE has two 8 year old MMO's with better …
Wow, they are trying to sell DLC? Did they ever even stabilize this game? The beta was aweful, hard locked my PS3 dozens of times. Never bought this because it was gonna brick my PS3. The lag in large groups was beyond believe, end of beta events we…
Good article. I started playing MMO's when the origional EQ was launched and have played many others since. In my experience worlds being too big is more of a problem then worlds being too small. The origional release of EQ was nearly perfect for th…
This game is very polished and the combat is fun. The only problem I have with it is the gold spammers and bots. If NCsoft can clean that up they have a winner to build on. The expansion possibilities could be great with the x-y-z axis they got in …
/yawn... This happens every MMO. Usually its a whole room a college students who play characters in shifts that accomplish this. It's usually done in pairs so they can exp faster, I.E. a healer and tank combo can level faster then a solo player. The…

There is a big difference between something witty and just plain crude like Dumtwat. Back in "beta" the last time I logged in I saw someone named Bigblack Cock or something along those l…
Group vs Solo play has nothing to do with grinding. You can quest solo or in a group and you can also grind solo or in a group. I've leveled to 15 solo doing all quests, no grinding. Most MMO's you eventually have to grind in the higher levels beca…

Basically what I figured... they were trying to spread people out. I just wish they had posted about this on their website sooner.
No question/comment on the afk-shops though... it'd be nice to know if they plan on doi…
No offense Mod , but I have been through a lot of launches and this most certainly is NOT normal. Not once have I ever had to wait in a queue. Never once have I been unable to log into the server my guild was on. Normal problems would be log in serv…
This post is rediculous. The first day when it's crowded you just gotta deal with it. I played Cleric yesterday. You know how many times I started casting Smite on a mob and before the spell fires some melee runs in and engages it. They probably did…

The real question should be: Can a good solid game come out of the west now days?
It has been a very long time since that happened.
there is truth to what you say

/yawn, this is a weak troll post. There will be plenty of players around to kill griefers like the OP. As soon as you got a rep for doing this you wouldn't be able to step into the arena without getting ganged up on.
Oh wow, this is one of those "official" threads awesome!
Seriously though I can't wait. It's been awhile since an interesting MMO came out. AOC was the last launch I was interested in and that game turned out to be a real yawner.

Good idea, except they would just use a proxy server.
On this same subject when I was googling Aion for the…
NCsoft isn't stupid and this isn't their first rodeo. You can bet they already have more servers ready. You can always use another back up server so even if they didn't need to open new servers they would have use for the extra servers eventually.
I didn't read this whole WOW vs the world thread. But the reason people blame Blizzard is they dumbed everything down to appeal to the widest possible audience. EQ was the first one to get really big in the days of 56k modems. EQ was hard and harsh.…
