I just think most MMO gamers never played in a true sandbox and have this misguided idea that PvPers are of the WoW variet…
Let's make it simple- you want to gank people to make yourself feel superior to others. We don't like some little kid stabbing us in the back when were fighting some epic boss. So how about this....
We should create an MMO with fake players using a…
It boils down to this:
If you like EQ, why not just play EQ? It's because you want EQ, but with some 'improvements'. However, any improvement that you suggest is debatable:
"I want better graphics" - Yea, Sony has revamped old zones and the new on…
1. Close your eyes and image what you look like in a fantasy world. Think also about what you want other people to look like - especially women. Now look through the vanguard screenshots and FFXIV screenshot. In Vanguard, the guys look uninspiring a…
I think you've brought up a valid concern. However, like many other people here I think you're conclusion that this is a fatal unsolvable issue is a bit premature. Making a game is more like throwing a pot than it is building a skyscraper- you need …
Storyline? You click on the ! guy, then click , then look on your map for the blob. They like to fool themselves into believing that they're writing great stories that we clamor for, but in truth very few people read anything- and they shouldn't. 1-…
The pvp vs pve debate has raged on for 44 pages, but in reality I think we all want the same thing - a challenge. The PvP advocates say that PvE is boring and monotonous because in pretty much all the games it has become so. This is because Blizzard…
MMO's designers burden themselves with designing 2 games - the leveling game and the endgame. If they fail at either one then their game will not stand the test of time. If they want to succeed, then they need to focus on just the endgame and elimin…

Also, I would add that you should have a large collection of models/sprites available with the purchase. Players again can dream up a cool castle, but they cant put pixel to paper.

Things that are missing from MMORPGS today:
1. Challenge - In EQ fighting a creature that was your level ment that you were likely to loose (unless you were twinked). In Wow and most other games today you can fight creatures several levels higher …
I played EQ2 at the start and left it, came back a couple of times to retry in and left every time. Why? What it boils down to is simply the fact that my wife and I weren't having fun. All the features, etc don't matter - what matters is the fun le…
For those of you who haven't played, here is my attempt at describing Warhammer Online compared to WOW. Keep in mind I've only played WO for 2 days and only got to level 10.
The biggest change I've noticed is the lack of running quests in WO. In W…
The creators of these games see big dollar signs, but what they don't see is that new expansions pose a barrier to old players returning. I have an everquest account and have considered going back to it, but I don't want to have to find and purchase…
If your going to start from scratch, I wouldn't play EQ. The game doesn't start until your level 70ish. Before that, you will have to search hard to find people your level. Without twinkage, your leveling will be slow.
I've said it before, PvP in mmorpgs is a pointless affair as long as levels exist.
You are simply pitting your "more time spent stats" against "less
time spent stats" so griefing people is just a pathetic expression of
your own desire for power. …
My wife and I started playing ATITD yesterday, and so far we're enjoying it. Here is a list of likes/dislikes:

You modify the landscape - you leave s…
