The animations are a joke in the game right now and the devs don't seem interested in slowing them down. Friggen keystone kops/benny Hill bullshit I can hardly believe what this game has come to. It makes me weep.

If you have shadows on, turn them off. They seem to contribute most to the chop. Ages ago, before the dark times, I used to run everything maxed with control panel enabled 4xAA and 8xAF pretty smoothly with shadows off.
