EverQuest 1 1999-2005, was the most compelling gaming experience of my life - and it's not easy to explain why. I could write entire books about how that game was more interesting than any real life thing I had going on. The only game to come clos…
It's been several years since I was of the opinion that my best gaming years were behind me - I'm 32 now but have been a gamer all my life. I think that as gamers we can burn out. That's when it's time to take a break. A long break, for at least …
Honestly, I have to say that the new expansion has been one of the most disappointing announcements I have ever heard from Blizzard. This is simply because Pandas are probably the least interesting animal in the world, sorry Panda lovers, and to th…
Voice acting doesn't make a good game. Look at Everquest 2. It also makes content take longer to roll out because you need to record all the dialogue, or you get inconsistency where some npcs speak and others dont, or all the new NPCs are mute.
What? You think because I play WoW now that I don't know EQ? That's funny because most of the most active and capable guilds left to play WoW during Gates Of Blandest expansion ever. Hi uqua bugged and unfinished zone for months after release. …
EQ was great but hardly sustainable in its early form. If EQ had never changed its philosophies on travel, dungeons and downtime then a current player will have spent real-time months aboard a virtual boat that follows the exact same path. How lon…
It's possible for wizards to be powerful without huge fireballs too. WoW mages for example have an incredible arsenal of spells ranging from invulnerability to crowd control.
The OP has a great point. Just a shame that as soon as a developer as naive as him puts this into practice, everyone will play a wizard. Or you will have groups of wizards going around 1 shooting content and/or players. Human nature.
If you lose a rated BG you get nothing. In fact you LOSE rating, which has the consequence of reducing the amount of conquest points you can earn for the next week. So you are really losing points unless your team can play better the next few gam…
This topic hinges on the idea that "WoW's community is bad", which I don't agree with -- but as a long term player of the game you might expect me to say that. I also say it as an MMORPG veteran though, and generally a coder geek who has spent far…

let me rephrase... does ganking still happen?
Yes. There are few spots for farming whatever it is you need at 85, and here you will be ganked.

I really didn't like the Astral Steed or whatever it's called the first time around, hopefully it'll be something cooler. Anyone got any idea what it is?
That's a lot of people, but I think the 12 million figure was a peak at the height of the new-expansion excitement. That's died down now. I personally don't think a game like Rift had any effect at all, but then I haven't spoke to the 600,000 quit…
Conveniently ignore my irrefutable proof much? How about YOU post something showing how the encounters are not completely new, since you are the one making the point in the first place?
As it stands, I have evidence, you have nothing and you are …
