I played Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. Out of the bunch I liked Morrowind the most and Oblivion the least. Can't say I'm very stoked for Elder Scrolls Online.

I don't really like the running/walking animation, perhaps the jump animations aswell. Mostly on what I've seen so far on the human side. They all feel very glidy and twitchy if you catch my drift.

I don't know about a patch such as you discribe has been implemented into AO. However, there are atleast two other games that i know of that has multi-seated mounts/vehicles, World of Warcraft and Star Wars Galaxies.
