I agree to some degree about the character models being subpar at times, but to me the real beauty is in the environment graphics. Sure it might just be the benefit of a few new shader tricks, but wow, everything I've seen makes me wanna run roll ar…
One criticism for my part is the lack of "hit" animations. Blood abounds, but the models lack any animation to indicate that theyre geting hit. I'd like to see some indication that I landed a nice critical other than the big HP drop.

The answer is pretty simple. You might play simply for achievement, but a lot of people (myself included) prefer a to have some sort of social aspect in their MMOGs. I know I probably don't speak for Cajun, who seems to infer a more solitary experie…
This is purely assumption, but I believe the OP was referring to a game experience similar to that of SWG back when rangers were useful in setting up camps, which served as a resting spot for your party to rest as they basically roamed the wildernes…

Back to gestalt's post, I should have pointed this out, there IS a target lock that they are by no means keeping a secret (read some more and you'll find discussion about it all over). And yes, the hits are based on rolls off of stats. The question …
Maybe they have that client-side hit detection like planetside and WWII online. Still, given the combat mechanics in TR, lag shouldnt be as much an issue as a twitch MMOFPS.
Cover should still apply as a mechanic to affect the rolls (ie, you are in cover, they enemy will recieve a penalty to their to-hit rolls). At least that was my understanding of it.
First time I've seen the HUD. Good stuff.
I'm assuming that a lot of that is from the instanced solo quests that I've read about? Good to see it, but I'm much more interested in any group instance that might be available, or even some group actio…
My 2 cents.
Initially I was horrified by the idea that the bulk of instances would be solo. I play MMOGs to play in groups, not solo. Then the thought popped into my head that no matter what your playstyle, you never avoid soloing at some point. …
I can't wait for some official info on this. Personally, the suggestion that there will be a bonus to rolls for manual aiming sounds very appealing, but just as well without. I mean, isn't that essentially how SWG ranged combat worked? And that was …
