is Red Dead Redemption my answer to this years old thread? yes, i know its not a mmorpg. but at this point i'll settle for a great single player western with some multiplayer extras online

IIRC east of Thunderbluff, when going to the land directly east, in the hills are some huts that are seemingly impossible to get to, though I've never really tried. The only time I've seen them is flying overhead.

You could get creative with the "teams"... miners, settlers, cowboys, outlaws, traders, skinners, lawmen, indians, war parties, etc...
